The heated bathhouse features a toilet and foot pump sink. Purified drinking water is available from May - September. You must bring your own water from October - April. The kitchen features an oven/range and basic cooking and serving supplies. There is no refrigerator, so please bring your own cooler and ice. Campfires are allowed, but it is your responsibility to determine if there is a fire ban in effect. Firewood may be available or dead wood can be collected on the property. There is a picnic table nestled in the scrub oaks. We only rent one side and the entire property is private to you! We do have neighbors, but the property is pretty well tucked away. You may see the occasional vehicle or hiker on the road or hear someone doing some yard work, but it is generally very quiet and secluded at the yurt. Our neighbors have chosen to live in Marble for its privacy and tranquillity. Please show them respect by keeping the noise down and leaving them be. If you have questions or need help, call us from the yurt landline. Winter camping experience/equipment and a high-clearance 4x4 vehicle with severe snow-rated tires and chains may be required to access the yurt Oct-April. During large snow events, driving to the yurt may be impossible in any vehicle. Skiing to the yurt may be an option Dec - Feb. Gear sleds are available at the yurt for your use.

40-Acre Treed Property – 20 Minutes SW of Saguache, Colorado This 40-acre treed property is bordered by BLM on two sides and is very close to National Forest, offering ultimate privacy with breathtaking views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and Tracy Mountain. The cozy 672 sq. ft. cabin features 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, with solar-powered electricity and a wood-burning stove for heat. A seasonal spring flows through the south end of the property. The property is ideal for hunting, stargazing, camping, ATV riding, horseback riding, and much more. It’s 20 minutes to Saguache, 30 minutes to Monte Vista, 45 minutes to Alamosa, and 1 hour 15 minutes to Salida. Wildlife is abundant, including elk, deer, moose, bears, doves, cats, and more. Once a gargantuan ranch, this section of South Park has been subdivided into residential and recreational lots so more of us can enjoy the local beauty, and remains sparsely populated. Learn more about this land Enjoy exclusive use of this six-acre spread which features trees, rock outcroppings, and absurd mountain views. Remote yet accessible by county road, the property is a few miles from Hartsel, where you'll find a general store and saloon, and the other historic railroad settlements of Park County. (Learn about the South Park National Heritage Area at southparkheritage.org.) The property has flat (but not *quite* level) areas for tent setup and also gently sloping and wooded areas for exploring. All supplies (including water) must be packed in, and all waste packed out. I stashed a collapsible picnic table behind the big rock and you're welcome to use that, please just fold it and stash it again. There are no structures at all on the property. Per Hipcamp and local zoning, you may not relieve yourself outdoors; you must be in a vehicle or privacy tent. There is a fire ring. If you intend to make a camp fire, YOU MUST LET ME KNOW so I can call the Hartsel Fire Department. They will then tell me if there's a burn ban in place and I will relay that info to you. This must be done no later than 24 hours before you plan to burn. Hipcamp will sometimes turn on my fire ban based on data from the National Weather Service. The only way to know the full situation is for me to call. If you see some expensively outfitted motorcyclists cruise by, they're from the Rawhyde Training Camp up the road so give them a wave!

High up in the San Luis Valley, the Colorado Sports Ranch and Refuge occupies over 200 acres. Joyful Journey Hot Springs is 10 minutes away, and Great Sand Dunes National Park is visible from the property. The property includes a small garlic farm (High Desert Garlic) with garlic products for sale in season. The ranch is uniquely suited to athletes and other fitness enthusiasts with a 5k running/walking trail and a well stocked indoor/outdoor gym with kettlebells, TRX equipment, squat and bench racks, plyo boxes, bands, rowing and cycling machines, basketball hoop, and all manner of agility equipment. Gym cost is $10 per person or $25 for a group of four. Gym users must sign a liability waiver. The camping area is about 1/4 mile from the main house and about 300 meters from the rest room and potable water. The highest concentration of 14,000 foot peaks in Colorado is in this area with trail heads in nearby Crestone. Rock climbers and rock hounds will enjoy Penitente Canyon about 40 minutes west. White water rafting and all manner of paddling are available on the Arkansas River in nearby Salida, as is access to some of the finest mountain biking in the world, particularly the Monarch Crest Trail. World class fly fishing can be found on the Arkansas River, and Blue Mesa Reservoir is home to all varieties of trout, pike, and kokanee salmon. We are happy to arrange tours with local guides and adventure providers. The Colorado Sports Ranch and Refugee is a working, off-grid, sustainable homestead. Horses, goats, chickens, ducks, turkeys, dogs, cats, and a donkey all share the property. Animal tours are available.

Our stay at Slice of Heaven exceeded our high expectations. When we arrived we were greeted by the host and given a full rundown of the property. Tricia was very generous and made sure we were going to enjoy our stay. We arrived at night to a very cozy remote cabin. The wood burning stove was fully stocked and created a warm environment. My group of six all had comfortable sleeping situations and were able to cook full meals in the well stocked kitchen. We were only able to stay one night and weren’t able to fully check out the property but, from what we saw we were thoroughly impressed. If I’m ever back in Colorado I would love to stay here again. Overall, I would highly recommend staying here!

For reference, Google Maps includes the unmarked unnamed dirt road where the site is located. Apple Maps does not besides a little spur.

Great spot with 360 degree views of the mountains. The space is quiet with no hwy noise heard. Loved the innovative firepit that made it easy to light fires. It is tough to find so be sure to watch your messages for the GPS coordinates for the turnoffs.

Hidden gem - I almost don't want to recommend it so it doesn't get booked up by others 😁 Perfect spot for our sprinter and we loved the big fire pit and wood available. Very quiet and well maintained camping area. Our dogs loved exploring the area as well. We only stayed one night but we will definitely return to soak up the unbelievable views.

Weekend Trip to Marble Mountain Yurt

My partner, dogs and I absolutely loved this Yurt! In addition to the amazing view, there is so much intention in the design and layout of the place. It has a decent lawn with yard games, hammocks and a fire pit plus easy access to the exterior bathroom (which was so cozy and smelt lovely being it is a compost toilet). The Yurt itself was to well designed. All the appliances and fixtures were easy to use when following the meticulous directions in the guidebook (photos were super helpful). We had such a great time playing games and getting cozy in the yurt, eating meals on the patio amongst the mountain backdrop and also exploring Marble and hiking around to see views, waterfalls and the quarry. Definitely would go again!!

Meg and Evan checked in to make sure we were all set up for our stay and had everything really nicely laid out so we had zero questions. We are looking forward to staying again!
