The South-40@LaSal Is: quiet, spacious, secluded, secure, and natural! We are located 26 miles southeast of Moab Utah. (about a 30 minute drive from Moab and 40 minutes from Arches national Park). The property is 40 acres of undeveloped ranchland That borders the remote community of La Sal, Utah. We are pet friendly with plenty of room to exercise your pets. We irrigate a small pasture exclusively for wildlife. Deer, rabbits, and foxes Frequent visitors and you may hear our local "Song Dogs" (coyotes) "whooping it up" in the evening hours.
We currently offer four (4) RV spots and several opportunities for tent camping. The RV spots include: Electric hook ups with (50amp, 30 amp, & 20 amp) water hydrants, Wi-Fi Internet, gray water disposal system, and solar powered sanitary vault toilet. There is no full sewer hook-up but we have an off-site dump station available about 1/4 mile away.

Funky! The campsite was perfect for my 2 person tent with a pee-gravel pad and a nice fire pit facing the La Sal mountains! Teepee’s and stars, man.. not a bad way to end the day after adventuring Moab! Danny is SUCH a knowledgeable dude. We spoke for hours the morning I left over coffee wandering around his eclectic property. He gave me a ton of solid recommendations to further my roadtrip into CO, which was such a help. And Ringo - his peppy, friendly, and affectionate ranch dog - was the best little bud to me whenever I was at camp. Always greeting my car when I pulled up or scooting over to my campfire for some cuddles. As a dog guy + a solo camper I enjoyed his unconditional friendship :) Danny is a friend for life and I will certainly return in the future!

We had such a great stay! The tipi was a really cool and unique camping experience, close enough to Moab to get to everything easily, but far enough away to avoid the hustle and bustle of town. It was peaceful, quiet, and exactly what we were looking for.
Our favorite part of the trip was definitely Ringo, the sweet dog on the property. He “showed us around” and played with our dog the entire stay. Watching them run and explore together was honestly a highlight.
Danny was incredibly kind and hospitable. He checked in on us, made sure we were comfortable, and you can tell he genuinely cares about his guests having a good experience.
We’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend!

Great communication from host. I really enjoyed the solitude — I was able to off-road in Moab each day and then enjoy a peaceful camp to unwind.
Wi-Fi was a nice bonus as there wasn’t much of a signal for me (Verizon).

This site is Exceptional !!!!! Very Clean and although it might not seem like it on the drive in - very secluded with gorgeous views of the La Sal Mountains. We turned left onto Pearl street when we should have gone straight into the ranch - there is a “Hipcamp” sign - so make sure to look for that! Best overnight spot for us yet! Highly Recommend!!!

Comfortable and safe place for an overnight in my 20-foot van about 30 minutes south of Moab. The electric hookup was great as a big storm front had made it difficult to recharge with solar. The pit toilet was clean and well lit during the night.

This place is so very magical. The host was so very kind and helpful. His place was better than a lot of campgrounds we paid way more money to stay at. Very private and the scenery was amazing. Danny was amazing! I love camping and staying at places where hosts put in effort to create a relationship with the people staying. We loved Ringo (the dog) as well and Danny even offered us some fresh veggies from his beautiful garden. I honestly cannot wait to come back to Utah just to hang out and stay a couple nights. 11/10 and 6 stars (out of 5). If you love people, dogs, farm animals, gardens, and watching the sun rise in the Utah desert, this is the place to stay! Thank you Danny. We’ll be back.

What a gem!
I stayed for two weeks and could have stayed longer. I will admit I was spoiled and there was only one other camper there in site 4 until my last night so it was like I had the entire place to myself.
The site is huge and well maintained with all the amenities you could ask for. Water, electric, and grey waste all worked perfectly. It was also nice to have the outhouse if needed. The views of the La Sals were lovely to wake up too along with the gorgeous sunsets and the coyote howls.
Because I’m a full time remote worker I always like to give a review on service. Starlink speeds were exceptional and I held huge conference calls with cameras on with no problems. My AT&T hotspot could hold internet but not video calls, my T-Mobile didn’t work (I knew this in advance). The property has internet which I used as a backup. It was surprisingly fast and stable for the remoteness of the property.
There were great roads to run and walk my dog on daily and super close to BLM land and of course all that Moab has to offer.
Stephen the host was exceptional and incredibly kind. We can’t wait to come back!

We loved staying at Stephen’s place. It’s obvious he’s thought about the camper’s experience and has provided a really great setup, whether you’re tenting it or in an RV. We were in a roof top tent at Site 3 and the only campers besides one other. It might be a little different had the other two sites been occupied, but there is plenty of space at each site and each is outfitted with sun shade, picnic table, portable fire pit and potable water, and hook-ups for those who need it. The toilet was very clean and convenient but situated for privacy. The best part of all were the views. Stunning in almost all directions. We had a great experience and would highly recommend.
