We moved here in 1997 The home has had major remodels done on it. The lake is an old gravel pit to make road base for local road construction. The buoys in the lake are scuba projects from the local college CMU, and hold lots of fish. Other nesting platforms are for our local Geese and they hatch out in April-June. We airbnb 2 rooms in our home as a shared facility and have airbnbs in Northern Ca and Baja. Our home is off limits for campers as we need to respect the space for our other airbnb guests. But in an emergence please call, cell service works fine. port-a potty is gone for the winter November-April. port-a potty is clean and works great, May- Oct. If you are here in the winter you may use the trees or Mavericks gas station in 1.5 miles away. The first two pets are included at no additional cost. For any additional pets beyond the first two, there is a fee of $10 per pet, per night. Please make sure to add the Pet fee extra accordingly.

Somewhat hard to get to, up a bumpy road, it’s very private, quiet and green. Within 45 minutes to the city of Montrose, a day trip to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Ouray, the Cimarron's and the San Juan's. Spirit Ranch’s seclusion gives you respite from civilization. Soak in the peace. To access the property, you need some clearance, AWD or 4WD is recommended (something like a RAV4 or better). Larger vehicles will probably touch some soft branches along the way. After a big rain, the road can be muddy and slick. Not a serious jeep trail, but definitely “off roady”. The last 1.4 miles is through a locked gate through private property. Camp host is only there 25% of the time, with only two sites, you are not likely to see anyone else. Each campsite is marked, has a fire ring and flat spots for tents. There is plenty of dead aspen to burn. One composting porta potty serves both sites. You will need to bring your own water and leave with your garbage. There is decent cell phone reception (Verizon), but with towers on top of Waterdog Mtn, other providers are likely. Foot traffic to the top of Waterdog, from near the locked gate, is totally tolerated despite the signs. Blessed with the state’s finest top soil, it’s lush in a way most of the west can’t provide. A great place to play with a plant identification app, foragers will be thrilled with the amount of edible plants. Feel free to explore our 35 acres (property boundaries are not marked, the OnX app works great and comes with a free trial, our property is currently labeled as “Providence…”). Responsible firearm target practice is allowed. Wildlife is abundant. You’ll hear coyotes, see the scratches and tracks from mountain lions, scat and tracks from bear, elk, deer and free range cattle. Be careful with your pets.

Welcome to Outskirts Palisade! Thanks for joining us in Palisade. We love this community and hope you will too. We have big plans in store for our property, and welcome you to fall in love with it as much as we have. Outskirts Palisade is located to the south of Palisade on the edge of the Orchard Mesa. We are located right behind Talbott Farms Tasting Room and have loved getting to know them as neighbors so far. Our property features a gentle drainage, rising mesa features, lava rock outcrops and stunning views of Mt. Garfield, the Grand Mesa, Colorado National Monument, and the Palisade vineyards and orchards. Wait till you see a sunset from up here. As we said, we have some exciting long-term plans for our property to become a key part of the Palisade community. Because of that, we ask that you respect our neighbors and the surrounding area when it comes to things like: trash, noise, fires, alcohol consumption, and general P's & Q's. Stayed here in early December and it is such a great spot! Nice sunset viewing, easy access to the sites, quiet, and it's a rare Colorado location near water. Mike stopped by to chat and is a very accommodating host. I would highly recommend visiting this campsite, especially in the warmer months.

We got moved to RV spot #1 from our original spot a few days before our stay which wasn't an issue. The lake was beautiful and clean, and we were well stocked on wood. We didnt have any neighbors so it was nice and quiet with little sound from distant traffic.

We had an absolute blast with Cindie! the yurts were so nice, Cindie was so attentive and always had great reccs for what to do/eat in town. The wine tasting was stellar. Zen Zen gardens is a paonia gem and we hope this becomes a landmark for the community. By far the most fun we’ve had in a while

Great experience camping on the farm; would highly recommend. The indoor bathroom was nice and clean. The site was easy to find and underneath a beautiful tree with a fire pit and outdoor table and chairs. Close enough to town and wineries, but feels nice and remote.

If we could give this twenty stars we would. This is what we imagined 'HipCamp' would be when we joined. A lovely private site, amongst verdant peach orchards, in the shadow of massive Mesa'a. Wine country and the cute town of Palisade on your doorstep. The site has excellent water and electric hookups, wood chips surround the trailer, a top of the range fire pit and table and chairs (plus free firewood) is provided. And on top of it all, charming hosts in Eric and Amanda, who make you both feel at home and also ensure privacy. Simply can't fault this site; and we will be back!

Sweet spot by the lake to camp for the night! We had a lovely campfire and appreciated the full set up ready to roll as we got in late and were tired from the drive!! It was a wonderful way to unwind and enjoy the night before getting a good sleep for our drive the next day. The next morning we had the place almost entirely to ourselves, and my dog especially loved exploring!
