What a great place to stay! Clean, pretty orchards, and with the basic amenities. Dirk even added a small microwave so I could heat my tea and breakfast in the morning. Comfy bed and the outdoor shower is cool. I didn't use it because it was such a short stay, but how fun!

Weekend Trip to The Views at Gateway

It was a beautiful spot, the cabin was nice. However, I was disappointed and left kind of at a disadvantage, because according to the description, there was supposed to be potable water on-site! There was not, There was also supposed to be electricity! There was not, did not see the bathroom pit either. The description indicated there would be a trundle bed, which there was, with one mattress on the upper part, no secondary mattress. The host was supposed to meet us on-site and never showed up. Luckily, we came prepared for some things. Had an air mattress to make up the difference. However, we shortered ourselves on water as we expected to have potable water on-site. Aside from the misrepresentation, it was a beautiful sight. And we did enjoy our stay.

Clear directions to the site with beautiful views! Weather was questionable and Charles came up to chat and check in. Overall great stay with all we needed, perfect for the dogs to run and explore. Close to Colorado National Monument and 10/10 sunsets!

Weekend Trip to Double D Farm

Loved the cabin and the location was perfect! The bed was comfortable, with a good size fridge and lots out outlets too, so it had everything we needed. We were also able to bike to nearby wineries and walk through Dirk's orchards as well! The outdoor shower was amazing and such a nice treat during hot summer days. The fire pit was great too - I highly recommend staying here! Dirk was a fantastic and friendly host - than you so much!

We were lucky to have the entire place to ourselves. I have a feeling the popularity will boom with this property. The views are great, peaches are amazing, it’s centrally located and the hosts are top notch. The AC and ceiling fan were so welcome after 90* days as well. We brought our camper van and upgraded to this spot for the AC but I’m sure on cooler days, spot #1 would be all we need. Oh, and the peaches…..

Dirk's land was conveniently located, comfortable and beautiful, surrounded by peach trees. There was a view of mount Garfield. Wish we could have stayed another night but it was already booked, so plan ahead!

I was already looking forward to not having to set up a tent … but power? A fridge? AC 🤩😱🤩 After a 5 Hour Dr. in 100° and a full car - having a place to cool off was an awesome surprise. A nice 150 sq ft space with a comfy bed and bedding. What an easy stop. There also is plenty of fire wood and a fire pit with nice seating space and overall just a quiet and serene area to enjoy by ourselves. It was a great stay that I’d recommend anytime and looks like he has plans for a shower in the near future. There’s running water for dishes ( still just a porta potty.) But what really really set things apart? We happened to come in the summer months and on a heavy peach harvesting weekend. Dirk was so generous and guided us up to one of the Orchards he oversees to allow us to pick the BEST PEACHES IN THE COUNTRY! Truly … if you aren’t from the area and you’re unfamiliar with Palisade, peaches they are renowned for a reason 😉 100% value, amenities and generous hosts!!!

Dirk & Connie are AMAZING hosts! I had a perfect mini staycation. The location is just right outside of town (5 min drive); You can walk or bike to several wineries. I was welcomed with 4x 🍑 sitting on the refrigerator ❤️. ...little did I know many more peaches were to come. I need to give a shout out to Talbott Farms for the best peaches I have ever had! 🕊

We did a 2 day stay in cabin C8. We loved it! Very well built. AC was definitely a huge bonus for the summertime. Basecamp was very kind friendly with the nice pool, sandbox, outdoor games, perimeter walking trail, large grassy area & river access

Incredibly beautiful spot that feels far more removed from Grand Junction than it is. After camping in the national parks for a few days, being able to stretch out in the comfortable tipi and not set up our own site was pretty great. We also loved the sunset from the cliffs. Charles was not there when we arrived but he was easy to communicate with and provided everything we needed. One tip: Bring enough drinking/cooking water with you as the spigot is pretty far away from the tipi and requires you to get back into your vehicle.

Absolutely magical! 🌟 Staying at Charle’s Mountain View Tipi was like stepping into another world — a peaceful, awe-inspiring slice of rustic heaven tucked away in nature’s arms. The gigantic authentic tipi? Breathtaking. It’s spacious, beautifully designed, and radiates the perfect mix of adventure and comfort. Waking up to the mountain views with the fire pit gently crackling outside felt like a dream you never want to end. The setup is thoughtful and serene — you can tell a lot of care went into creating this space. We especially loved the little loop path leading past the bathroom area to the adorable smaller tipi, which adds even more charm and whimsy to the experience. The bathroom area was well-maintained and had all the essentials, and honestly, having that kind of convenience in such a natural setting was a huge plus. If we could wish for one thing, it would be a more defined trail to the bathroom area, especially at night. But even that didn’t take away from the overall wonder of the stay — it just added a touch more adventure! If you’re looking for a unique, soul-soothing escape with serious wow-factor, this is it. We left feeling recharged, inspired, and already dreaming of our next stay. Thank you, Charle, for creating such a magical space! 💫🔥⛰️

We had an amazing time! Our stay was perfect, it fit every need that we had! Bed was super comfy. A/C was amazing. Had a great time using the fire pit and looking up at the stars. Location was perfect. Everything that we wanted to do and see was a maximum of 5 minutes away! Would absolutely stay here again. Dirk is awesome! Since our stay was during peach season, they would leave us peaches everyday, such a nice touch and so kind. It genuinely made our day! 10/10 would recommend.

The site was very clean and well maintained. There were tables and chairs around the fire pit and picnic tables. There where tipi was carpeted and very clean. We had a good night sleep before heading out to the National Monument which was close by.

Weekend Trip to Tongue Creek Ranch

We had a great stay in the ranch for a couple of nights, Dave & Barb were kind and thoughtful hosts. We (our dog included) enjoyed walking around the ranch and saying hello to the horses every morning. The temperatures were high when we stayed but the cabin had an AC that kept us cool when needed, which we especially appreciated. The cabin felt private but not remote, which was perfect for our needs.
