Overnight, Seasonal, and Extended Stay Camping, we are open year-round. We have 30/50amp sites (shade and partial shade) around our lake, 20 amp in the "upper campground," and dry camping (full facilities) along the Arkansas River (Gold Medal fishing) with access for all campers for fishing and floating. Many of our sites are great for star-gazing, watching meteors, looking for fireflies, and seeing the birds zip on by. We are conveniently located on Hwy 50, in Bighorn Sheep Canyon, and have all sorts of rental options for your outdoor adventure needs. Whether you want to pitch a tent, try out the glamping experience, enjoy the convenience of an RV, or rent one of our fully equipped RVs, we have the perfect spot for you. We have four entrances marked by sail flags into the campground, two by the lake, one near the bathhouse, and one by the post office (on our property). The map of the Arkansas River has our campground listed! Adventure awaits with home to the highest mountain peaks in Colorado and the river and 102 miles of Trout Gold Medal Water. There is access to white water rafting, guided fishing, and fishing lessons. There are at least 5 hot springs within 60 miles of Twin Bridges Campground. Salida is considered the white-water rafting capitol of the US by some and has a whitewater park and surfing wave. Salida area is also home to a ton of hiking (14'ers anyone?) and mountain biking trails. The Royal Gorge is a quick 30 minute drive with restaurants and other fun near Canon City. The Sand Dunes are 90 minutes and Monarch Ski Area is 45, we have some of the best bird watching! Warbling Vireo, Western Wood-peewee, Cassin's Kingbird to name a few.

Mono Loco Flats sits on a Mesa nestled in the Sangre de Cristo mountains near Sangre De Cristo creek and La Veta Pass. Growing up in Southern Colorado I was fortunate to explore this zone as a kid and I feel fortunate that I can share Mono Loco Flats with others. Set up camp and enjoy sweeping views of Mount Blanca and the surrounding Sangre De Cristo mountain range. This 15 acre camp is situated just off highway 160 for easy access, approximately 25 minutes from The Great Sand Dunes Natianal park and Zapata Falls. Mono Loco Flats is an excellent home base for exploring the San Luis Valley. Sangre de Cristo Creek is a short hike or drive to the south. Fort Garland is a 10-minute drive. All three sites provide 360 panoramic views with epic sunrise and sunset views of Mount Blanca. Wild horses and prong horned antelope may wander the Mesa as you enjoy your camp. The natural beauty of these three campsites is worth protecting so please if you pack it in, pack it out. This is a dry camp with no toilet or garbage facilities. Please treat this land with respect so that future campers may enjoy the land free of rubbish. All three campsites are accessible with any type of vehicle, and the long driveway and turnaround can accommodate any trailer or RV up to 20'. Beautiful area with great views. . Stayed at site 1 and there where others at site 2, wouldn’t even know they where there. Good spaced out sites. Being holiday traffic a lot of cars heading up and down the highway. Overall highly recommend.

Weekend Trip to Turkey Creek Ranch

We had a great time on Lenna’s land. The tent is awesome and the cots are comfortable. The outhouse was literally the cleanest I’ve ever been in 😂 They provided plenty of wood, which was a fantastic treat. We were appreciative that the cooler was full of water and there was bug spray and sunscreen on site. These were all nice amenities! There were tons of options for cooking including a gas grill and two burners, as well as pots/pans, silverware, plates and all the standards. There are solar lights all over the camp which provide the best ambiance and ease at night, as well as solar lanterns provided to easily wander around with. The creek was a huge highlight and we went for several soaks and getting our feet wet. Plus it just sounds amazing! And let me tell you about the stars out here!! If you like star gazing and want to teach the kids about constellations, this is the place. I was blown away by the night sky out here! When booking, I didn’t know that we’d be so close to Westcliffe- which is a dark sky area. On that note- this listing says it’s in Rye, but it’s actually Gardner, CO if you are mapping it out. Be prepared that there are 15 miles of gravel road to access this area and the closest place for supplies is 40min out- so come ready. I also wanted to mention that Lenna is communicative and was quick to answer questions. Overall we really enjoyed ourselves and would return!

The Mesa was a wonderful campsite! Views were stunning in every direction. The two other sites on property are far enough away that it still feels private. The campsite had plenty of space! Our car, tent, and canopy fit with tons of extra space. The picnic table was great to have too! The fire pit had some wood leftover from previous guests that we used but ultimately opted against a fire because of winds. We didn't end up having to use the firewood we brought but the fire pit was nicely constructed! It is 35 min from the site to the National Park (the longest portion being the main road into the park). You'll pass through two small towns (Ft Garland and Blanca) between the site and the NP, in case you need to pick anything up. Mario's communication was great! We had zero issues and would stay here again :) If you're unfamiliar with the area be aware that there is NO shade and it is VERY windy. We were familiar with the area so came prepared with a canopy that way we could have shade during the day at our site but we would not have been able to use it without the weights we brought due to high wind.

We were unlucky with the weather the one night we were here (wind and thunderstorms) but the site was nice and the host even left us some firewood (which we couldn't use due to the aforementioned weather). The highway notwithstanding, the surroundings are absolutely beautiful, but to be honest, the nearest dwelling having a billboard sized Trump sign painted on the side of it kind of soured the mood.

We stayed two nights total, camping right by the river. The scenery was breathtaking, and the sound of the river at night was perfect for us. There was a ton of birds on the property that were nice to listen to in the mornings. The bathrooms were also nice (flush toilets and warm water showers).
