I honestly don’t know where to start. This place is so beautiful and special, everyone is so welcoming and it is just such a calming and zen place to be. Watching sunsets in the hot tub, chilling reading and looking out at the incredible views. Me and my partner never wanted to leave and stayed an extra two days. Really was paradise!

What a lovely spot! There are so many trails and multiple gorgeous views. The individual spaces were very large and varied from shaded to sunny, from remove, to nearer to others. Having the goats run around freely was just so much fun to watch. Every employee we encountered was helpful and really friendly. The bathrooms were always clean and well stocked. I never used the showers, but they looked clean and private enough for being outside. I can't wait to go back. If there was on less than perfect thing to mention, it was that the shop had no ice. It was advertised that they sell ice. Because it was Sunday afternoon, maybe they sold out as people so many people were leaving/checking out. Other than that, absolutely glorious!!

I can't rave enough about this place. It was breathtakingly beautiful. We stayed at the Oak community camp and it was amazing, there were goats and a lama that wander around and we also saw a quail with her chicks. The staff went above and beyond for us and bathrooms are spotless, it was so nice to have a hot shower available. We will definitely be back.

The place was amazing. I do wish the tent sites were further into the park so the noise from the road wasn’t there (more nature) but the place and the people who work there were all amazing. The cabins looked extremely nice. Will try that next time. Nice cold water to swim in. Things to rent. The Hawaiian ice woman April was a real treat. Overall lots to do with your kids. Will go again.

I took my nearly-4-year-old boy on his first ever real camping trip here. We had a great time. Two days is just about perfect. This is a good "beginner" camp site. I recommend finding a spot in the shade - we stayed in the Oak Grove. Nice hiking for a toddler, a nice camp store, and nice staff. Lots of goats and an alpaca wandering around. A+. My main "suggestions" would be to increase the water pressure in the bathrooms, increase the refill rate in the toilets, and ensure the hot shower is hot. But these are minor - again, overall this was a great place to camp and we definitely enjoyed ourselves! The owner has done a lot to put little "easter eggs" around the property to make it exciting and fun to walk around with a toddler. Also it's a quick 15 minute ride into town in case you need more ice or anything! I would definitely return.

Took my boyfriend and my two boys out to T-Rex Creek and it was on its own path, fit our family of four just nicely and was a beautiful spot with the added table, chairs, and firepit! We rented the bell tent and had the children take the cots that were included. The camp store was great, thanks Lyla (hope I didnt spell it wrong)! The observation deck nearby gave a real beautiful site! The bathroom was very nice! Our spot was shady, a big rock to climb on, and was a lot of fun hiking around. We saw the properties very friendly goats, friendly barn cats, one of two Great Pyrenees and Alpaca, saw them during the animal encounter and my boys were so happy to have that one on one hour with them. Rick and Susanna were so kind showing us around! My boyfriend even saw a pack of coyotes walking down our path during the night. The only thing that was mildly irritating, NOT due to the property or the owner, but the campsite that is located next to the camp store about 200 ft from us. Unfortunately they were loud until 3am playing music and their older kids were running close to our campsite screaming and yelling so we didn't get much sleep. However, we would still love to go back. Either back to T-Rex Creek or to try another site maybe further away. It was a real fun time.

Weekend Trip to Mineral Spring Date Farm

Excellent value for money and ideally situated if you want to visit Palm Springs or Idyllwild. The natural spring water pools are perfect for taking the edge off the desert heat. Ron is super friendly and very welcoming.

We had an amazing experience at Redtail Rock! The views overlooking the valley were absolutely beautiful — both sunset and sunrise were breathtaking — and the stars at night were stunning. We loved the surprise encounters with the goats, alpacas, and the friendly dogs roaming the property, which made the trip extra memorable. The host was kind and welcoming. There were some animal droppings around the site, but nothing unexpected given the open nature of the property. There were rocks to climb and plenty of space for the kids to explore and play. Just a heads-up for larger groups: the site came with a small table and a few chairs, which wouldn’t be enough on its own for a big group (we were 15), but we brought extra tables and chairs and it worked out perfectly. We’d definitely come back — such a special place!

Weekend Trip to Namaste Farms

Spent time here with my best friend over the weekend and had the best time! I loved the company of My Boyfriend, the little mini horse that guarded our RV at night along with all the onsite sheep and dogs. Sean checked in a few times as he was working when I was there and was very friendly and helpful! He gave suggestions of local places we can go and left hay out for us so we can feed the animals. Thank you, Namaste farms!

We loved Angels Nest there was a lot of room and the game room is perfect for kids of all ages especially teens. It was very clean and tidy and has all the essential kitchen appliances and other basic amenitirs such as washer and dryer.

Splitrock Farm Splitrock was part of a 160-acre avocado farm that prospered from 1970 to 2017, generating over 1million pounds of avocados per year until the previous owners switched off the water in 2017. Ben purchased 101 acres in 2021 with plans to harvest the dead avocado trees for firewood and replant with organic, sustainable crops such as grapes, citrus trees, and flowers. Splitrock's attraction comes from its unique groves, magnificent granite boulders, and sweeping vistas. Mixed within the avocado groves are several ancient groves and solitary trees that include 200 foot tall pines, hundreds of old oaks, and soaring palms. Freckled throughout the hillsides are thousands of humongous granite boulders, offering a prehistoric feel to the landscape. Above all, Splitrock offers unrivaled views. Over 40 miles of coastline includes views to Point Loma, the Carlsbad power station, and the Pendleton Hospital. We purchased Namaste Farms in 1997 when I was showing reined cowhorses as well as raising thoroughbred racehorses. In 2005, I purchased my first wool sheep and fell in love. While sheep are the primary animals at Namaste Farms, there are countless other animals, both four legged and feathered!NOTE: Namaste Farms is a true working farm with copious amounts of sheep, goats, chickens, peafowl, and countless other animals. Along with those, we have free range squirrels, rabbits, flies, dust and yes, even free range spiders. If you're wanting a rustic experience that gives you a break from city life and you can handle dust, dirt, cobwebs (and these can happen over night inside your cottage and WILL be in the common areas), with sounds of animals vocalizing at all hours of the day and night, then Namaste Farms is a perfect fit for you. Know, you're supporting a 501c3 charity and all the revenue goes to support the animals.This booking is for the Treehouse, and while it's only 1/2 a mile from the city limits, it has a rural feel and is centrally located to all wineries and most of the major equestrian facilities including Galway Downs, Green Acres, and California Ranch Company. For those who are coming to Temecula for horse shows, we also have a large barn with bedded stalls and turnouts (for an additional fee). There are designated horse trails right outside our gates which will even take you to Galway Downs and California Ranch Company. If you're into golf, you can enjoy Temecula's 7 PGA golf courses or Pechanga Casino which are also within a short driving distance to the farm. If horses or golf isn't your thing, you can visit Temecula Valley wineries which are all ~ 1/2-3.8 miles of the cottage gates. The wineries are not within walking distance of each other, UBER is only too happy to come here and pick you up! If you're not interested in any activities and simply want a "staycation," you can hang out here where you're welcomed to walk around the farm and interact with the animals. At night, enjoy the sounds of serenity.

The camp area has seven spots that can be occupied by other glampers, and has a common use firepit with Adirondack chairs for those who want to compare notes about their wine tasting adventures. Plenty of onsite parking. In the morning, grab your coffee and step outside to watch the hot air balloons drift overhead. During the day, sample local vino from the 50 nearby wineries. In the evening, nosh at one of the great restaurants in Old Town Temecula, and then return to camp for sunset views and fireside relaxation. You should know that there are two free-roaming Blue Heelers who live on the 5-acre property and make regular visits to the camp area. Visiting dogs that socialize well with other dogs are welcome by us and by Molly and Taz as well, but please be honest with yourself and us about your dog's temperament, and book elsewhere if there is ANY chance of canine conflict with our very energetic pups. Also, Molly does not trust very small children (we think there was an incident), so if you have small children, we ask that you keep them from interacting with our Heelers.

This land has changed little since Fernando Cortés first saw it in 1533. And dawn over the sea begins each day in spectacular fashion. Our huge front room combines living, dining, and kitchen into one 700-square-foot space, with four sets of doors which open to a broad Spanish-style veranda. The town of San Felipe is completely safe and friendly -- and unlike a Cabo or Cancun, it offers an *authentic* Mexico experience. In short, we'd say that if you're the kind of person who would never go camping, this probably is not the ideal spot for you. Please note that this house has electric service, with a rooftop tank holding mountain spring water, plus propane for the stove and water heater. If you require a concierge to manage your holidays, or can't stand dust from the desert, you may want to consider another destination. Our home overlooks the beach in this area. * Biologically speaking, the Sea of Cortez is the richest body of water on the planet. This diverse sea supports more than 900 varieties of fish, and more than 2,000 species of marine invertebrates. * Spring water is trucked in, and stored in a 1,000-gallon tank. The first tanks of water and propane are included. If a water refill is required, you pay the $50. The cost of a propane refill is about $20. * There is no landline phone, but we do have wifi, and most cell phones work. * Note that Baja can be HOT, especially from mid-June through the end of August. In Summer, typical temperatures are high 90s or low 100s during the day, and 70s to 80s at night. * Pets are welcome. * Please smoke on the veranda — never inside. * Sheets are provided for the three beds. You should bring bath and beach towels, as well as your favorite toiletries. * Kitchenware is provided, but if you're particular, you may want to bring your favorite gear. * There’s a small tabletop BBQ grill, and a big old one. * A 600-square-foot garage with RV doors may be available at extra cost with advance arrangements -- but there's plenty of easy parking outdoors on approx. 1 1/2 acres. * If you have kids, please note that the bluff in front of the house is about 30 feet above the beach. * The closest path to the beach is in the arroyo just south of the house. There is also another road to the beach which begins about 150 feet above the entrance to the property. The beach itself is fine sand, and deep in places. Motorcycles and ATVs are welcome. For four-wheeled vehicles, 4WD is essential. * Kayaks and other small watercraft can be launched easily from the beach. Kitesurfing is popular. Be aware of the tides! The Gulf of California has one of the largest tidal ranges in the world, and at low tide, the ocean recedes far from the beach for a few hours. * PWCs and boats on trailers can also be launched from the beach. A 4WD tow vehicle is essential. Again, be aware of the tides. * There is a wood-burning fireplace. * There are large supermarkets in central San Felipe (such as Calimax, on the main drag). You can get fresh food and everything else you might need at reasonable prices. * Wheelchair access to the home is fairly easy. The showers are very large, but otherwise of standard design. * There can be dogs roaming free, but we've never seen an aggressive one. You may also encounter a mosquito or two, little desert critters, etc. * Snowbird? Looking for a long-term retreat? Low rates are available to quality candidates.
