We are living our dream after recently finding and purchasing this beautiful 10 acre parcel, one of the sunniest in the canyon with a bucolic creek that flows all year. See Canyon itself is a special place. Home to a multitude of birds and wildlife, a beautiful scenic winding road, lush landscaping and a host of apple orchards. Thanks to the micro climate we have here, we grow some of the best fruit in the country. The coastal canyon is just a short distance to the beach and 15 minutes into town but feels like a world away when you are here. The star gazing is incredible as the canyon walls block the light pollution and the milky way shines! Welcome to our little slice of 10 acre heaven in the Canyon! Just bring yourself and we have everything else!! Nestle up in the Cozy Gnome Home, a 1967 vintage trailer and listen to the symphony of frogs in the creek just outside your window. With love and labor... we gutted, redesigned and restored this little trailer for the ultimate functioning space for two. Nice little kitchen with copper counters and everything you need for cooking and dining. A Berkey filter for clean water, hardwood floors and a comfy bed complete with organic mattress, down comforter and cotton sheets. Fold out dining table if you care to (or need to) eat indoors. There is also an outdoor kitchen space with a sink (no hot water), gas grill, propane burner (bring your own small canister) and a patio table and chairs. We have a charcoal grill available too. The creek runs mostly year round so feel free to get your feet wet on a hot sunny day. We have three dogs on the ranch, a deaf and incredibly sweet pitbull ( he is a food thief so store food and garbage as though raccoons were a problem), a curious and playful ranch dog Pluto (who will be your tour guide) and a Boston Bulldogge, Astrid. We are surrounded by orchards which have some of the best apples and pears in the country. Seasonally you can stop by many apple markets and do a tasting. We also have a lively wine tasting venue less than a mile away. Avila Beach is a short 4 miles away and we are happy to share bikes if we have them available but can't guarantee any. Our location is a bikers' dream as the 13 mile scenic road takes you all the way into SLO. NOTE: If you want to bring others to camp, please note that they need to bring their own tents and supplies, we only have room for two but welcome self sufficient campers to join you :) also, we have a camp stove you can use to cook on but bring your own little green propane canister.

We had a fantastic time at vinyl vinyards. It was not only beautiful but it had everything we needed. There was only one thing that might have enhanced our stay. Our host let us know in advance that there was a heater in the camper but we couldn't get it to work. Other than that, we really enjoyed it! Would love to go back!

Lovely spot! Super easy access go downtown SLO & Avila Beach while feeling like you are world away! The space was comfy & cozy & had all we needed. The compost toilet & outdoor shower were far cleaner & more pleasant to use than the average campground facilities. Would return!

Very nice place to stay. The canyon is beautiful and it’s nice to disconnect. There was very limited cell service in the canyon so I’d recommend making note of the gate code before you get there!

We had the most wonderful time! The camper is so cute and just spacious enough, it feels very private. The outdoor shower was lovely with very warm water! Great location as well! Close to downtown SLO and the beach. And Pluto really is as spectacular as everyone says, he is truly such a special dog and made us feel so at home. Our whole stay was very picturesque, from waking up and looking out the window at the oak trees to stargazing at night (with Pluto by our sides). We were very sad to leave.

This was the 3rd time we have visited Lorna’s amazing property and it’s always so wonderful. The cozy gnome home is always nice and comfy and the surrounding trees and creek make this spot tranquil and idyllic. The fresh eggs and fruit, the outdoor shower are not to be missed nor is the company of the incomparable Pluto. Can’t wait for next time!

This was our second time at this beautiful glamping site on the farm, just 8 minutes from Avila Beach, and it’s truly a special place. My son, Rio, loved feeding the horses and goat, chasing the chickens with Pluto the dog, and splashing in the creek. Pluto happily tagging along. Evenings were spent making s’mores under the stars. We’ll definitely keep coming back!

Such a cute camper. I want one now. Aside from Pluto being so adorable my favorite part was at about 8:30 or so I heard an owl hoot and that seemed to trigger all the frogs to start the symphony of night time. Cell service at best is spotty if available at all. So bring a book. 🙂

This site was just what we were looking for. It was quiet and we had a lot of privacy. The location was perfect because it was so close to downtown SLO, Avila Beach, & Pismo. What made the experience so great was Pluto the dog. He greeted us when we got there & stayed next to the trailer the entire time we were there. I’ve never met such a well behaved dog. Overall, we had a very nice stay and would recommend it to others!

This was the most delightful little Hipcamp of all time. The trailer is precious, comfortable, private, and has everything you could possibly need. The grounds are beautiful-- there is space to explore (just be sure to know what poison oak looks like!) and the surrounding area is rich with things to do. But the real star of the show is clearly Pluto the dog. I am admittedly not even a dog person and he truly stole my heart! He greeted us with such abundant joy, led us on the most beautiful hike, and added such a sweet personal flair to our stay. I missed him as soon as I left! I will definitely be back here again.

Weekend Trip to Kindred Acre Wood

Lorna's place is absolutely beautiful, and the trailer is cozy and provides the basics for a good stay. The location is great, and the trailer is mostly private. There were a couple of things that have stopped me from leaving a stellar review: 1. The first night we were awoken by a volunteer and her friends coming home in the wee hours of the night, turning all of the lights and using our shower. 2. We were not provided any extra buckets or lids for the outhouse loo. We did ask for them and we're only given a new one and no extras 3. The volunteers hang out at the communal kitchen which is right above where the outside shower is so if you are even a bit tall you may be having a shower and looking out at them. Pluto, the dog, was amazing he hung out with us whenever we were there and is a very sweet and well behaved dog! (The other dogs are great too!) We really did enjoy our stay, but the above could be improved upon (especially considering the cost).

Super cozy stay, the gnome home had everything we needed! My partner and I planned a very last minute trip to SLO for the weekend, and Lorna's gnome home was ready and available for us. Comfy bed, ample kitchen supplies, and a beautiful atmosphere to wake up in. Definitely would recommend to those planning a quiet weekend away!

This place was perfect for our family. Great location. Not too far from town for all the conveniences but also far enough to see every star away from the city lights. The site had everything you would need. Very nice bbq grills, lights, fire pit, frisbee golf, corn hole, etc.

Weekend Trip to Vinyl Vineyards Glampground

We had a very quick one night trip at the Billie Holiday Trailer and the only regret is that we wish we had more time! We were visiting Paso for an event and we did not get to explore too much but we will definitely be back! We absolutely loved the trailer. It was very clean, cozy and warm with the heater. The vintage style appliances were adorable and the bathrooms/showers were clean and so cute. The land is absolutely breathtaking and it looks so fun to explore. The sunset and sunrise was gorgeous! It took us 10 minutes at most to get to the Event Center in town and the drive was beautiful. We told all our friends about this cute place and we will be back!

What an awesome experience! We had a bit of a rainy weekend, and thought what better way to spend the weekend than this beautiful HipCamp under the stars. We enjoyed a complimentary bottle of wine while listening to the provided vinyl records. The place was clean and well decorated! The host responded quickly when we asked how to purchase another bottle of wine, even offering to deliver it to our site while it was raining. Definitely would recommend!

I’ve stayed in quite a few Hipcamps … and this was BY FAR our favorite. The camper itself is cozy and thoughtfully decorated/ stocked, the bed is comfy, the outdoor shower was hot and private. They really thought of every little detail. The best part is their gorgeous property with views and endless trails, and of course our favorite pup Pluto who showed us around and greeted us each day. (Ask him to show you “his tree” it’s quite a treat). The location is also perfectly positioned near the beach and apple orchards/ winery. Loved it here, we will be back!
