OUR STORY Our farm story began in 2018, when on a whim and a prayer we purchased a rundown home and land. After years of acquiring many blisters, animals, plants and weird suntans, we eventually created the home and farm of our dreams. Our emphasis in the beginning of this journey was to create a space in which our children (along with ourselves) learned the value of producing our own food, fiber, meat and eggs. We challenged ourselves to learn sustainable and organic farming practices, and the emphasis soon changed to how can we share this journey and all that we have learned with more than just our children. So…..here we are, sharing our hard work and ambition with you. For now, this ambition is in the form of HomeMade Jams, Jellies, Teas, Seasonings and Confections that is procured from our own organically grown gardens and trees along with HandMade fiber creations from our small Alpaca herd. I would like to be able to say that we grew everything that goes into our ingredients, but we are not that good at everything yet! So to keep in the spirit of ethical sustainability along with ensuring a high quality and great tasting product, we purchase ingredients from local organic farmers and shelf products that not only have the USDA Organic seal, but are non-GMO, ethically harvested and in some cases certified Kosher. One day we hope to meet you and share our story with you by introducing you to the fruit trees my father grew from seed and let you feel the soft fiber of our eclectic herd of misfit Alpacas while you watch the glorious Southern California sunset touch the hot desert horizon we call home. We have recently given the entire cabin a fresh remodel! It’s even more cozy than before complete with new kitchen, vaulted wood beam ceilings, fresh flooring and lots of Pendelton blankets! You will LOVE IT! Master has a queen bed, while the 2nd bedroom has 4 twin bunk beds. We also have a firepit! Been coming to this magical part of the San bernardino mountains since I was a little girl. I learned to ski here when there was an old ski hill and tow ropes! Lots of mountain trails to hit right out the front door! My Father and Grandfather both spent time here and nothing has changed! It is single story with all open beam ceilings, wood floors throughout and hiking right out the door to miles and miles of trails! We have chickens, greenhouse, an orchard, solar, a windmill come experience our bit of paradise. We have had two single women both with Toyota Tundra trucks. Feeling safe was important to them, it has always been safe here with plenty of peace and quiet. Phelan is a semi rural area with good neighbors. Tesla charging is available.

Weekend Trip to The Engels Nest Fall Leaves!

The cabin is so cute and easy to find/access! It was less than a 5 minute drive from the lake and there were lots of trails nearby. The trails were a bit tricky to navigate with little signage so we didn't venture too far but the views were still great. I would recommend bringing essentials (shampoo, body wash, coffee) but the cabin had pots, pans, toaster, dishes, etc. I would definitely recommend this cabin for a relaxing slow paced weekend away!

This was a beautiful and thoughtfully prepared spot! The host helped us attempt to level our camper van and was kind enough to bring us an extension cord so we could connect our 30 AMP. There was some animal noise at night (coyotes and guardian dogs barking at each other a bit) and the neighbor’s rooster did his thing in the morning, but it didn’t bother us. The site has an adorable picnic table and a second seating area. Would stay again!

Weekend Trip to The Engels Nest Fall Leaves!

We had the most wonderful time staying at this beautiful cabin, was very hard to leave! Really did feel like home, so cozy and comfortable. Just a few minutes from some very special spots, such as inspiration point where you can witness a truly spectacular sunset, also the very cool Black Dog Social Club, had a lovely time listening to live music there, sipping on a beer overlooking the lake… just perfect. Thank you to Jodi and family for opening up this unique and beautiful home, we’ll be back! You should book to stay here, you won’t regret it.

Unbelievable experience really! The place is very private and quiet. Looking out into the pastures and the vast desert is extremely pretty! The sunsets perfectly where the campsite is for photo opportunities and a beautiful view. There are royal palms that silhouette the horizon at sunset and really give you that California feel. Super close to food and gas that you can just walk if you need in 3 minutes. They even have cute little motion lights that turn on when you walk back from the store to light up the path . The power and water hook ups are extremely well maintained, and you can tell Julianne and family really care about their campsite and are always thinking about how to make it better. 🏕️ There are definitely lots of chickens around neighboring properties, but they are really fun and make you smile with all their noises. They’re actually very peaceful and quiet at night so you’ll sleep just fine. 🥰 The host was very cordial and made sure I was comfortable and even offered some homemade bread! You will feel right at home here. I would 10 out of 10 recommend staying here regardless of whether you have a tent camper van or RV, you will have plenty of space and be comfortable. Thanks again!!!
