Super convenient to get here! We're less than 20 miles from the Sacramento Airport, and just a few minutes off of Interstate 5. Yet you'd never know it once you get to the farm and feel the peace and quiet. We're looking forward to seeing you soon! Additional note....Life on the farm is calm, peaceful and easy... operating with the natural rhythm of the sun cycle. What few clocks we do have, are stuck on twenty minutes past four. We are also family and kid friendly. Please private message us with any questions you may have, or if you would like additional information. We are also home wine makers. If you would like a tour of the cellar along with tasting please let me know. Please know that This is still camping and you will be subject to the elements of Mother Nature. Hot, cold, rain, wind, dirt, dust, mud and different animal sounds during the night. When you are here you may see frogs, toads, lizards, snakes (none poisonous) ants, turtles, squirrels, etc.. Those of you who have experienced camping before know that these are all normal things when out in nature but for those of you who have no camping experience I ask you to come with an open mind and a positive attitude towards a new experience. If you think you may have problems with any of these things PLEASE DON'T COME!!! We also have a dog named Sara that loves people. Most campers that come are very happy to have her around. She is polite and good with children. Some of you may not like dogs, if that is the case this will not be a fun experience for you. At the tent site you’ll have access to a table and chairs, lounge chairs, picnic table, gas BBQ, basketball hoop and balls, rock campfire, kayaks, and a porta potty. A short 3-minute walk away from the tent you’ll find the shore of the Bear River. Guest access: The tent site is only accessible by 4-wheel drive vehicles. If you do not have a 4-wheel drive vehicle there is parking for up to four vehicles at the house. The tent site is less than a quarter mile walk downhill from the house. River access: If you’d like to visit the river to hang out, swim, or fish you can follow the dirt road next to the tent down to the river (3-minute walk). The riverfront has lounge chairs, a picnic table, and kayak's. The riverbank has small pebbles and rocks so water shoes are highly suggested for comfort when going into the water (recommended but not needed). Come and enjoy the views of the river, forest, and wildlife! This is a private tent site with one other listing on the property which is located at the house. You may rarely see other guests during your stay. Check out is at 12pm. If you or anyone in your party stays past 12:30pm you will be charged for an extra night for your full party. For guests that come for the day but do not stay the night there is a $25 fee per guest(s). Steve and Ceci are so open and generous, the spot is really beautiful, and the cabin is perfect for a solo getaway. I even saw river otters and sandhill cranes walking distance from the property. I highly recommend this spot!

We had a delightful stay at the Kimball family farm. Our host was wonderful! The place was so peaceful. The weather in mid October couldn’t have been more perfect! The cabin is full of potted plants. Highly recommend the wine tasting! 20 minute drive to UCDavis which was the purpose of our travels. Will stay again.

Weekend Trip to Delta Respite
Ceci and Steve were so warm and accommodating for my dog and I last minute. I couldn't have imagined a better place to reset. This was my first time using hipcamp. I was set on finding a cozy inn to retreat to for the weekend and get somewriting done. Of course everything was booked or insanely expensive so I turned to hipcamp and I truly couldn't have planned it better. The cabin had everything I needed to be comfortable. You could really tell that so much thought went into every little detail. From the clawfoot tub, to porch with the little fenced in yard. Every light was on a dimmer! I was so charmed by this as someone who works with light a lot (photographer) and love creating ambiance! Clearly they poured their hearts into creating such an amazing space. I kept joking to my friends the cabin was like a storybook and I felt like I was the Celestial Seasons Bear. They were both so sweet to my dog Beaux and we had lots of nice walks around the property and beyond. Only downside was it was a bit muggy and buggy at times so definitely prepare if you're sensitive to mosquitos or other critters. This was no fault of Ceci & Steve's and to be expected when visiting the Delta! Oh, and there really were so many amazing birds to view and the sound of birdsong and coyotes throughout the day and night. The whole experience was so dreamy and relaxing and I definitely want to go back!

I had such a restorative, restful time at Steve and Ceci’s beautiful cabin on their farm on Sherman Island. I had been worried that it was too close to civilization to give me the peace and quiet I was looking for but this couldn’t have been further from the truth. While the cabin was close enough to town to meet with friends in Walnut Creek or get supplies, it was far enough away to feel worlds away from San Francisco. Steve and Ceci were consummate hosts, providing everything I needed from additional firewood for the fire pit (and accompanying fire building assistance!) to bottled water. The clawfoot tub with bath salts was a particularly lovely touch but the cabin was extremely comfortable and well-appointed. My dog absolutely adored staying here, and was able to roam the large property that was completely fenced in, meeting the farm dogs and the chickens. There is even a hammock and a comfortable lounge chair to do some reading in the shade. What more could you ask for?

Weekend Trip to Kimball Farm
There is a small group of cows that graze behind the cabin, cute chickens, and a very friendly and sweet dog. If you like animals this is the place for you. Hosts were friendly and the cabin had an AC unit.

Delta Respite is exactly what I needed. Ceci & Steve greet you when you arrive to explain things. Wonderful warm hearted folks who made me feel so welcomed. The cozy cabin on Steve and Ceci's property was perfect for my solo getaway. The cabin has just what you need to unwind and relax - a lounge chair with a little fire pit, a soaking tub with a candle and bath salts with a rack to hold my kindle/book while soaking. The small table provided space to eat and sit to watch the bird bath and sunsets. Steve and Ceci were so welcoming to me and my dog, we are very grateful for their space!

We had a great time camping at Kimball farm! There were both a grill and a stove, plus a firepit, which made cooking super easy. Our group of 11 stayed comfortably with both tents and a cabin. We got to see horses and ducks, and the restroom was clean and flushable a big plus! There were also friendly and smart dogs on the property. If your kids love animals, this is a perfect spot for them. Highly recommend!

My small group of adults and kids had a great time at this beautiful space. We set up two tents on the lawn, which is adjacent to the cooking and seating/firepit areas. The cabin (with air conditioning!) is a few steps away and up a slight incline. We didn't sleep inside, but it was great to have a place to store items like our coolers and to literally chill out in the heat of the day. There were some ants inside, but if your food things are sealed/enclosed, that shouldn't be a problem. We also brought a shade canopy, which came in handy so we could spend more time outdoors comfortably, including using the provided grill and camp stove in the hot summer daytime sun! The pond was lovely, and there were two dogs who came and visited us often-- the owner's dog Sarah along with his daughter's dog Nala. We loved that, though I appreciated the offer to keep them away in case anyone was not comfortable with dogs. Lots of animal sounds at night and early morning (ducks, frogs, rooster, distant dog barks) , so if that is an issue for you, take note. Really appreciated the flush toilets, outdoor shower and a bathroom sink, along with a spigot with drinkable well water. We also saw two black widow spiders, but we didn't bother them so they didn't bother us. Overall we loved our stay and would definitely come back!

Steve and Cecil’s property is amazing. I was feeling like time was going really fast in my daily routine and was looking for a short, solo break away to slow things down. This spot delivered! I really enjoyed wandering about, reading outside, taking a bath, and hanging out with all the animals. Chickens especially were super entertaining, always up to something. Winnie the pig is so incredibly special. Steve and Ceci were such gracious hosts, and lovely people. I can’t recommend their place enough for a quick getaway!

Kimball farm was a great get away for us! The cabin was clean and slept 3 adults, 1 child and 1 dog comfortably. The outdoor area was everything we could ever want, bbq, stove top, picnic table, prep table, seating and fire pit. The additional grassy area and being next to the pond where we could watch the ducks and listen to the toads was the cherry on top! George and his wife were great hosts, showing us around and letting my 3 year old help with the chicken feed. Sara was an absolute sweetie pie and kept us company often. This was the perfect getaway for a normally noisy weekend with all the fireworks.

I had a lovely weekend on a solo trip with my dog. Ceci & Steve are so friendly, the dogs, chickens, and pot-belly pig are delightful, and the cabin is super clean and cozy! Perfect spot for rest and relaxation. I took walks at sunset, read books, watched birds, painted, and soaked in the claw foot tub! Hoping i can return in the Fall 🙂

I camped here with my dad and the setting was beautiful and peaceful. Fishing was fun (but mostly small fish), and the host was incredibly kind—he even gave us a ride back up the hill in his truck after a tough hike in. Important heads-up: You really need a 4WD to reach the campsite. We didn’t have one and had to haul our gear half a mile down a steep, rocky path. It was rough, especially for my dad in his late 70s. If you like hiking in, just be sure to pack light! The cabins are very basic (comfy beds, a few hooks, not much space), and we had ant issues even with food stored carefully. Heads up, the portapotty hadn't been cleaned in a while and smelled pretty bad when we got there. If you’re prepared and ideally have the place mostly to yourself, it’s a lovely river escape. The host alone makes it worth the visit.

Weekend Trip to Kimball Farm
Our kids had a blast at Kimball Farm! Our family of four (two adults, two kids) stayed at their new cabin. The cabin is beautifully crafted and is conditioned with ceilings fans and a heater/AC. This made our stay very comfortable and not limited by the weather. We are looking forward to visiting at other seasons of the year too. Our kids long the chickens, baby ducks, pond, toads, and lizards on the property. They also loved the outdoor shower. The hot water and plumbed toilets were a treat we don’t usually encounter while camping. The site is surrounded by California’s beautiful rolling hills. Spectacular views of the sunset. Town is 15 minutes away in case you forget something. You can find Yolo and Capay Valley wineries within a short drive. Host George and Susan are kind and attentive. Their dogs Sarah is a gentle dog. Our girls loved playing catch with her. Highly recommended!

At the tent site you’ll have access to a table and chairs, lounge chairs, picnic table, gas BBQ, basketball hoop and balls, rock campfire, kayaks, and a porta potty. A short 3-minute walk away from the tent you’ll find the shore of the Bear River. Guest access: The tent site is only accessible by 4-wheel drive vehicles. If you do not have a 4-wheel drive vehicle there is parking for up to four vehicles at the house. The tent site is less than a quarter mile walk downhill from the house. River access: If you’d like to visit the river to hang out, swim, or fish you can follow the dirt road next to the tent down to the river (3-minute walk). The riverfront has lounge chairs, a picnic table, and kayak's. The riverbank has small pebbles and rocks so water shoes are highly suggested for comfort when going into the water (recommended but not needed). Come and enjoy the views of the river, forest, and wildlife! This is a private tent site with one other listing on the property which is located at the house. You may rarely see other guests during your stay. Check out is at 12pm. If you or anyone in your party stays past 12:30pm you will be charged for an extra night for your full party. For guests that come for the day but do not stay the night there is a $25 fee per guest(s). If your vehicle gets stuck on the property and you need a tow we may be able to accommodate for a $350 tow fee per vehicle.
