The coffee cart kitchen has a refrigerator/freezer, coffee maker, electric tea kettle, toaster oven, and microwave. Cook on an outdoor gas grill with a skillet and saucepan, and enjoy outdoor dining at a picnic table. Dishes, linens, and bedding are provided. WiFi speed is suitable for basic use. Mobile phones connect through WiFi. The cabin is non-smoking. Children eight years and up are welcome.
Summer recreational areas are nearby with miles of trails, including the Pacific Crest Trail, are nearby. Howard Prairie Lake is across the road. Howard Prairie Lake is a local favorite for fishing for Rainbow Trout and smallmouth bass. Birdwatchers can see eagles, pelicans, geese, ducks, hawks, herons, and many other bird species.

The land contains over a mile of trails with vistas, rock features, gnarly old "bonsai" oak trees, native plants and wildflowers. Your stay here directly supports ongoing conservation, watershed protection and fire mitigation work around the site, inquire if curious! We are located on Fort Creek named after the creek that ran through Fort Klamath. Fort Creek is a beautiful 30' wide meandering creek that runs the length of the property north to south. Definitely a cozy stay! We stayed when there was a winter storm happening in the area but we stayed super warm and cozy in this little studio. Had everything we needed for a weekend stay!

Easily one of the best places we’ve stayed. The convenience, amenities and value were phenomenal and these hosts go above and beyond to give you a comfortable and very leisurely experience. Being able to get a last-minute reservation here on our way home was so fortunate for us, and we’ll definitely be back! Usually this is a convenient stopping point for us when travelling between WA and CA, but now we are already talking about coming back to this very spot for a dedicated vacation here. The suite has everything you could need and more— huge bonus points for great WiFi, private hot tub, and bussing station and laundry baskets right outside the door. Easy check in. The property outside was so wonderful, we loved being greeted by free range turkeys when we got out of the car, and walking the property to see all the livestock and fun features of the place. Between that and the interior style, it really feels like the perfect authentic Northern CA getaway. Looking forward to being back soon!

What a beautiful and cozy spot!! Kit was very accommodating and friendly. The cabin was warm, the fire pit was perfect. I was just bummed the outside bathtub wasn't functional at that time, but all in all a great spot and I highly recommend.

Peaceful and private (except for the chipmunks, squirrels and birds). Bath water was hot so let it set for a bit before getting in. Outdoor bathtub, priceless!! Loft bed, cozy! Papasan chair on the deck, RELAXING!

Sugar Shasta was so much fun to stay in. The decor was really cool and the camper was very clean. It came equipped with everything I needed and I slept well and felt safe (traveling solo). The bathrooms were very clean and the camper came with travel size toiletries which I thought was a really nice touch. They have chickens and really friendly goats along with a slew of other birds that were fun to visit with and there's a really wonderful view of Mount Shasta if you go to the back of the campground and follow the road past the chicken coops up the hill. A few things you may consider for your stay: I recommend ear plugs as this particular unit is right near a fairly busy road. With the earplugs, I slept very well. There isn't much light so if you are a night time reader, bring a reading light. Karen and Jay are very nice and accommodating. Should I happen to cross through Weed again, I would definitely stay here!

I loved staying here! The camper was cozy and charming. The land and the view was beautiful. Sarah was welcoming and incredibly kind. I did not have opportunity to walk the property, but this was a great location to stay. Ashland is just a few minutes away if you want to go into town and it's close enough to the highway to go out and explore the region, as I did.

When you walk in you will say “Wow!” This spacious ‘barn’ has been lovingly renovated and decorated for a very comfortable and relaxing get away. The kitchen is fabulous, enjoyed preparing our food. Loved the polished concrete floors on bare feet. Beautiful big bathroom. Fun games, interesting books, a piano! My friend really enjoyed a sauna one evening and big tub soak the next. I was too tired after full days of sun wind and water. Howard Prairie Lake was pretty murky (algae bloom?) when we SUP’d across so decided best to not swim there, but still really enjoyed the quiet lake (literally no one else there except a far away boat), and enjoyed evening and morning walks. Went to Lake of the Woods, 30 min drive, for a nice swim. And we liked going back to our quiet luxurious cabin! We were 3 friends. The big bedroom downstairs is the nicest. The upstairs open plan area would be best for a family with kids, or close friends. Would be a beautiful spot in winter for cross-country skiing. And great place for dogs.

Kit’s cabin was well put together. It is tight quarters for some but we are a family of four adults (parents and children) so my daughter and I shared the loft while my husband and son shared the sofa bed. Our family travels a lot
And being cozy with our family is something we are used to and just use that as extra time to talk about everything. If you think your family would do well, you will be comfortable. If you have someone who doesn’t share space well or sprawls stuff everywhere, you may want to limit who comes but still go because the cabin is great. I was really nervous about sleeping in the loft as an average sized human during a heat wave. Thankfully the mattress was great, the trees keep the place shaded, the evening air was cool even on the hot days, and there was a portable fan. Everything we needed was available and my favorite part was having a toilet and good shower!
We didn’t use the outdoor tub but Kit showed us how it works, it looked really clean and the water warmed up very fast during the demonstration. It would be a refreshing and wonderful experience that I plan to try during the next visit. Thank you again!

I really enjoyed my stay in STR 5 Denali "Base Camp" Travel Trailer in Trailer Lane Campground near Weed, CA. The property grounds were lovely and clean. The trailer was very clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated. It was fully stocked with bed linens, dishes, glasses, silverware, etc. The campground has an awesome gathering area with fire pit, a fully enclosed dog run, and resident chickens. Highly recommend! When you are there stop at Ellie's Bakery and Shasta Brewing for good food!
