While most guests (and your hosts) see the idiosyncrasies and obvious cohabitation with animals and bugs beautiful, you may not. If your primary focus is on amenities, and you're looking for a completely dust/dirt, cobweb/bug, and animal/animal sound free experience, a working farm is probably not a good fit for you. We are dog friendly, but to keep our free range animals safe (and we have had them injured or killed by people not recognizing that dogs are predatory by nature), please keep your dog easily under control and on a short leash at all times. Also, because it's not possible to control your dog on a long line, dogs may NOT be tied or tethered anywhere on the property. For the sake of the antique furniture, do not leave your dog alone in the cottage unless they are crate trained and in a crate. If you want to let your dog off leash, 2 blocks down our road (and off property), there is a large scrub field where you can let your dog run free. Thank you for supporting this 501c3 charity where all the revenue goes to support the animals and the large number of dogs we foster from high kill shelters. This booking is for the Hay Barn cottage located at Namaste Farms in the heart of Temecula's Wine Country. This is a beautiful and quiet (with the exception of animal/farm sounds) private working farm situated down a wide and maintained disintegrated granite/dirt rd. While the cottage is only 1/2 a mile from the city limits, it has a rural feel and is centrally located to all wineries and most of the major equestrian facilities including Galway Downs, Green Acres and California Ranch Company. For those who are coming to Temecula for horse shows, we also have a large barn with bedded stalls and turnouts (for an additional fee). There are designated horse trails right outside our gates which will even take you to Galway Downs. If you're into golf, you can enjoy Temecula's 7 PGA golf courses or Pechanga Casino which are also within a short driving distance to the farm. If horses or golf isn't your thing, you can visit Temecula Valley wineries which are all within 1/2-3.8 miles of the cottage gates. The wineries are not within walking distance of each other, and if you want to peruse all of them, we can arrange a driver for you (30.00/hour) who will drive (Jaguar) and take you anywhere within Temecula/Murrieta while happily waiting for you so you can quickly go to your next destination. If you're not interested in any of the above activities and simply want a "staycation," you can hang out here where you're welcomed to walk around the farm and interact with the animals. At night, enjoy the sounds of serenity while roasting marshmallows at our wine barrel fire pit! The "Hay Barn" cottage is a studio with high ceilings, a beautiful stained glass window, a kitchenette and a rustically chic bathroom. The Hay Barn sleeps 3; one queen bed with a twin pull out. Please let us know ahead of time if you need the pullout and you MUST put the accurate number of people who are staying here. If you have more people in your group and don't want to share, please check out the main cottage, Hammie and the Treehouse in separate listings. Please keep in mind that we are not a "pretend farm" set up to simply attract people to our facility. This is an actual working farm where shepherdess, Natalie Redding (Nat Geo Wild's, Shear Madness) and her working dogs, Lacey, Lad and Nesta work every day. This means there is dirt, dust, chickens, peacocks, alfalfa, sheep, bugs, and other living beings associated with nature and farm life. People who've not had the opportunity to experience the beautiful and grounding life on a working farm may not understand this. I do stress that if you're an animal lover who is excited about staying at a true working farm, your co-guests may not share your verve. Please let them know there is dirt, dust, very little concrete or pavement, and they will surely leave with dust on their shoes. If you're into golf, you can enjoy Temecula's 7 PGA golf courses or Pechanga Casino which are also within a short driving distance to the farm. If horses or golf isn't your thing, you can visit Temecula Valley wineries which are all within 1/2-3.8 miles of the cottage gates. The wineries are not within walking distance of each other, and if you want to peruse all of them, we can arrange a driver for you (30.00/hour) who will drive (Jaguar) and take you anywhere within Temecula/Murrieta while happily waiting for you so you can quickly go to your next destination. If you're not interested in any of the above activities and simply want a "staycation," you can hang out here where you're welcomed to walk around the farm and interact with the animals. At night, enjoy the sounds of serenity while roasting marshmallows at our wine barrel fire pit! The "Hay Barn" cottage is a studio with high ceilings, a beautiful stained glass window, a kitchenette and a rustically chic bathroom. The Hay Barn sleeps 3; one queen bed with a twin pull out. Please let us know ahead of time if you need the pullout and you MUST put the accurate number of people who are staying here. If you have more people in your group and don't want to share, please check out the main cottage, Hammie and the Treehouse in separate listings. Please keep in mind that we are not a "pretend farm" set up to simply attract people to our facility. This is an actual working farm where shepherdess, Natalie Redding (Nat Geo Wild's, Shear Madness) and her working dogs, Lacey, Lad and Nesta work every day. This means there is dirt, dust, chickens, peacocks, alfalfa, sheep, bugs, and other living beings associated with nature and farm life. People who've not had the opportunity to experience the beautiful and grounding life on a working farm may not understand this. I do stress that if you're an animal lover who is excited about staying at a true working farm, your co-guests may not share your verve. Please let them know there is dirt, dust, very little concrete or pavement, and they will surely leave with dust on their shoes. Such a cool sight with just the right amount of amenities to make for a great casual camping experience. The road up is no joke and you got to be unafraid to get up a dirt road that goes up quickly, but our cars could do it, even when we came in at night. Caleb was great and communicative and we will definitley coming back for the next time do our retreat, the amphitheater so well positioned and the town at night was beautiful to look at. Great sunrises and sunsets too!

Our little summer tradition — three moms and all our kids camping together — felt extra special this year. It’s our last trip before our oldest boys head off to college, and we couldn’t have picked a better spot than Baby Oaks Oasis at Split Rock Farm. It’s pure magic. While setting up camp, the cutest alpaca wandered over, followed by the goats and then their sweet guardian dog. We watched a gorgeous sunset, then a pink full moon rise, spotted owls and bats, and heard coyotes in the distance. Loved the kitchen with running water, the fire pit under the big oak, and the kids sleeping in the dome. Morning views with the marine layer were stunning — don’t miss the observation deck!

Staying at Cross Bull Ranch was an amazing getaway experience for my partner and I! We wanted to get out into nature somewhere that wasn't super far away from us and we definitely got what we were looking for. Lisa was a great host and we really enjoyed talking to her and plan on going back! Camp sites all were well maintained and we picked one with plenty of shade to get out of the summer heat. I recommend staying here if you want a convenient getaway. Wish we could've stayed longer! Thank you Lisa!!

I didn’t need to bring a canopy as there is plenty of shade or chairs which were already provided was nice. This was a nice not far from home getaway. You’re not far off the main highway but it still feels secluded. You can sleep in a tent but also jump in your car and go to a cafe, bistro, or market 5-10 minutes away if you wanted to. I think my spot at the moon lodge was the best as you’re tucked in a nice corner by the stream and the mountain. Lisa was very sweet and accommodating, we were the only ones there when we went to it was nice to have the place to ourselves. She has dogs but they were so well trained they didn’t make a peep the whole time we were there. She even has a rooster that Lisa let us feed which i loved ! Bathrooms were clean but you have to walk outside of the property to get there. The equalivent of maybe 1 street block give or take depending on where you are. Which is not uncommon for camping. I 100% recommend this spot of your looking for something local. :)

It's a simple spot. Easy access but the driveway is steep and wouldn't be fun with a larger trailer pulling off that fast road. Like the host says. It's a safe place to stay for the night or 2 before continuing on. We used our trailer as a cheap way to stay near the beach and surrounding area vs having to pay crazy hotel prices on a holiday weekend. The grounds need to be clean. I would've not been happy had I brought my dog with the amount of weeds that could've gotten in her fur. It's again cheap and simple. Shaded in the evening but not most the day.

My family, church members, and I had an incredibly joyful camping trip. We were surrounded by nature in a secluded spot, and a herd of goats grazed through our site in the evening and morning, delighting us with their presence. Lisa was a really good host. She was super friendly and welcoming and made it easy to arrive unassisted. I brought my two young daughters and they loved swinging on the rope swing and exploring the dry creek bed. We had a nice propane fire pit. (No real fires allowed). And when we needed bug spray I drove 5 minutes to pick it up and come back. feels removed from LAand yet not at all removed from civilization.

Lisa set us up again for an amazing visit to her place this past weekend. We had warm heaters and clean bathrooms and made full use of the amazing space. The kids had a great adventure with the swing and running through the trails on the hill. What's great about the location is with how easy it is to get the central are in Topanga. On Saturday afternoon we took a field trip to the coffee shops, restaurants and had a great hike at Red Rock Canyon Park thanks to a recommendation from Lisa. We will all be returning back to Lisa's again this summer.

Baby Oaks was great! We came with two families of four, and it was more than enough space, and felt like a private little paradise. The kitchen pots and pans and grills were rusted, so we were glad we brought our own cooking equipment. Aside from that, it was perfect! We’ll come back.
