I came in late after a long 12 hour drive and Yeyen and her husband we so gracious and welcoming. I received a very warm welcome, by offering me a hot meal and to help me carry my things. I was also given the grand tour. I also was given an opportunity to switch to a smaller cabin since I was leaving early and it would be closer to my car. They were very flexible. I opted to stay in the cabin I had booked. It’s unfortunate that I had to leave early for another long drive the next day so I didn’t get to enjoy their little slice of paradise as I would have liked. I did come with 3 pets and just for your knowledge the doors do not have knobs or locks so a good bump and they could pop open—just something to keep in mind. They are located in a gated area so I felt very safe. Otherwise a peaceful, beautiful location. If I come through there again I will definitely stay and will be recommending this little piece of paradise to my friend who loves to travel too.

2 nights at dabudage Big Sur

We loved the cabana and the property all together. Everyone was friendly, including a kitten that followed us down to the beach and back. We saw sea otters in the ocean, a short walk from camp across a cute log bridge under Route 1. Amazing view of the stars at night and several fire pits. There were two clean kitchens with everything we needed for cooking and cleaning dishes. Highly recommend!

1 night at FEEL GOOD CAMP

another great stay and i was the only camper this night. it was absolutely incredible to have the entire place to myself on a wednesday. the wagon is just so cozy and once again i slept great. nature was stirring! toads hopping all over. owls screeching and hooting a. crickets and bird song. just really love that quiet here.

This place is amazing, a treasure around every corner. Incredibly well stocked kitchen, everything you could ask for. We stayed in the secret wagon, the bed is brand new and super comfortable. This place is a true gem. Better than the boring hotel/motels you can find around the area. Owners have put in so much effort and it shows.

second time staying here and absolutely loved the wagon wheel. so cozy and comfy. it was a very quiet weekend. only thing i didn’t like were the campers that left early i the am without cleaning up their trash, so i cleaned it up myself. julie is amazing and always so welcoming. will be coming back!!

Weekend Trip to The Secret Gardens by the Bay

Such a magical experience and attention to detail is amazing! From the cast iron pans and plentiful seasonings, to coffee and tea in the morning, the community kitchen was such a special place. So many beautiful flowers and treasures hidden throughout the property, it was truly an escape from the hustle and bustle. Beds were so comfortable and there was even a heater in our cabin. Would definitely come again! Dog friendly is a bonus too!

I stayed at the bunkhouse- it was so cute! Very cozy and so peaceful. The outdoor space was beautiful. Word to the wise, try to arrive before dark (unlike me). You’ll be able to see the pathways much better.

Weekend Trip to Lisa S.’s Land

This is a good value and a fun experience as long as you understand what you’re getting. The place is compact, the bed a twin (unless you set up the trundle) and the door is more like a gate, but it’s cozy and comes with more thoughtful amenities than we expected. Plus, the yard offers a nice place to pico or sit the fire. We would happily stay here again.

I loved the campground. The cabin area, restrooms and showers were very clean, we had a lot of space and there was a space heater in the cabin which was perfect for the cold night. It was very close to the beach and conveniently close to a lot of stores and restraunts. The host was very kind. We will definitely be coming back again.

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It was clean and had plenty of electrical plugs to recharge our phones, headlamps, etc. The pool was clean and water heated. Restrooms and showers were very clean too. One tiny criticism is that the women's restroom light sensor turns off quickly. I had to come out of the stall to waive my hand to get the lights to turn on again. Overall, we enjoyed it and will stay again if the opportunity presents.

what a peaceful retreat it was staying in this little cabin! comfy bed, a porch and birds on surround sound. it was like staying in a sanctuary! if you’re looking to get off the grid and not have the sound of roads anywhere nearby, this is the place. i would absolutely stay again.

It was good for a night with my small kid and old chihuahua in tow. Could make it work with two adults. Property is beautiful and so convenient. People who are upset about bugs, etc., probably should have more reasonable expectations — it’s not a tiny house, it’s an old cabin. There isn’t much of any privacy in this location. The wine cottages next door looked like they did and we will try those next time when my husband can come with us.

Weekend Trip to Camp Arroyo Grande

Cute little cabins, hot hot hot showers and a very laid-back vibe. Only cons are the cabins very limited and easily overwhelmed power supply and outlets. Power fell out a couple of times and luckily we figured it out quickly or it would have really affected our trip. Nights have been in the 40's, so I'd bring extra warm blankets if you plan on staying in summer weather.

This is camping made easy. No need to bring your cooking supplies, stoves, barbeque and dinnerwares ! We have them all. If you like to be social and have bonfire and have a nice chat with fellow campers , this is the place for you. We are committed to provide good beds and beddings because we know how important good sleep is (even when you camp!) so we just spent time, money and energy to replace all of our camping mattresses with memory foam mattresses!!! We had people swear that this is the best bed they ever slept in. The campground is located in a serene oak grove area of the property. Its a peaceful getaway with an abundance of bird varieties and occasional wild turkeys passing through. Take a stroll around our 5-acre property and catch a breathtaking sunset from the hillside. We're only 11 minutes away from Mount Madonna State Park and just 10 minutes from a local healthy grocery store and yoga studio. The beautiful Pajaro Dunes coastal area is just a 15-minute drive away, and the Santa Cruz Fairground is only two minutes away. Our location is surrounded by family friendly farms such as Gizdich ranch and nurseries, hence why it's considered the salad bowl of the United States. The Santa Cruz beaches are only 15-25 minutes away, while Monterey Bay Aquarium is just 30 minutes away and Gilroy Gardens is about 25 minutes away. The wine trail is also nearby. There are plenty of activities to enjoy nearby, including horseback riding at Mount Madonna Stable, Mount Madonna Retreat Center, hiking at Mount Madonna State Park, wine tastings at various wineries with stunning views, kayaking at Elkhorn Slough or any beaches, yoga at Watsonville Yoga or onsite, swimming, scuba diving in Monterey, visiting the Hanoman temple at Mount Madonna retreat center, and attending any events at the Santa Cruz Fairground. The property has 3 stalls for hot showers, 1 hand washing sink, 3 flushable toilettes, 1 communal outdoor kitchen with supplies of cookwares, dishes, mugs, glasses, utensils, pots and pans, coffee mugs, and 1 sink with hot water, 3 fire pits (2 of them is fire burning and 1 of them is propane), camping stoves, 1 gas barbeque and there is an electricity in the communal kitchen area. Propane for fireplace is included and Firewoods are available for sale. Board games, Books, Magazines, Lawn games are available as well as drawing papers and coloring pencils/markers/oil paint for our little artists. Your parking spot is within a very short walking distance and there is a wagon for you to use to haul your belongings to your camp site.

It is located about 2 minutes drive from the beach and the Monterey bay, about 12 miles away South of Santa Cruz. The beaches here are more peaceful and spread out as long as your eyes can see. We are 33 miles away from Monterey aquarium but you almost don't have to go anywhere when you are here. There are many things to do such as hiking at Land of Medicine Buddha or Forrest of Nisene Mark, Stroll around at Capitola Village, Have coffee and do awesome thrift shopping in downtown Aptos or in Soquel, Get some free foods from Free Food church on Wednesday evening (Yes, locally grown organic produce!), have a picnic on the cliff to watch the sunset, this town kind of remind you what's like to be in town without big boxes and franchise stores everywhere, life as its finest. This campground is also a great setting for your celebrations with two stages, a celebration area, a stone fired pizza oven and a sound systems (These are extras). We also have two sites for Private Group Camping for RV and Tent camping if you want to have a separate area away from anyone else. They can accommodate at least 15 people. Please check out those sites if you plan to come in a group. If you bring your dogs or children we have a trail for you to stroll around the property in a natural setting. Our 42 acres is located at the beginning of the award winning Adelaide Wine trail in Paso Robles. Our ranch was once home to a horse boarding and breeding ranch which bred Paso Fino horses, known for their beautiful gait. Having been a horse ranch, it left us with some nice trails that you can enjoy during your stay. We have some nice uphill walks to view your local surroundings while sitting to enjoy a glass of wine or you morning cup of coffee/tea. We are on a well out here so at times you may get a sulphur/mineral smell to the water. Please bring your own drinking/cooking water. It is safe to shower, my hair feels so much thicker! On the ranch you will see that we have 2 donkeys, Desi (black) and Lucy (light grey). Along with our donkeys we have to friendly goats, Fiona (brown) and Sadie (white), they love carrots. but please stick to one carrot a day each, we don't want to over feed them. We also have chickens which means have farm fresh eggs. $5 for 1/2 dozen. Up on the hill you will see Connie a cow and her buddy Samuel, the bull. they love carrots but please do not go into their pasture. She'll think you're bringing food and gets very dangerously excited. Please feel free to walk the property and become one with nature while observing the local indigenous floral and fauna.

Overview

California's Central Coast covers 230 miles of Pacific coastline north of Los Angeles and south of San Francisco. With temperate weather year-round and easy ocean access, this is an extremely popular destination! Call ahead when planning your camping locations to make reservations whenever possible.

Pismo Beach, near San Luis Obispo at the midpoint of the Central Coast, provides plenty of adventure options. Camp on the state beach or rent an ATV and hit the dunes. For a slightly quieter experience, head just 30 minutes north to reach Morro Bay. Bring binoculars; this area's excellent for Hipcampers who enjoy birdwatching.

The gorgeous Big Sur area is a bit further north, just south of Monterey Bay. You'll find excellent hiking options here, ranging from easy sightseeing strolls to challenging treks. Two of the best trails are both accessible from Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park. The McWay Waterfall Trail offers Big Sur's most spectacular view; the Ewoldsen Trail takes you through breathtaking Redwood groves.

Manresa State Beach Campground near Santa Cruz offers about 60 first-come, first-served tent sites. Here you get both beach access and a phenomenal view of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Manresa's also a solid choice if you enjoy fishing. Bass, perch, flounder, and halibut all swim in Monterey Bay.
