Batesville Mountain Campground is about "getting away from it all" with nary another soul in sight. If you have qualms about being alone in the woods -- this is NOT the place!!
There are only four campsites on the entire property so you are always out of sight and hearing of any -- you can even upgrade for $10/night and have the entire property all to yourself! It is that special!! And absolutely jaw-dropping beautiful! Sparky, the stone mason who quarried, cut and stacked every rock on every trail within the campground, has created a wondrous place to come camp and explore. We are also now restoring Sparky's original homestead -- the one room Green Cabin is soon to be our new "romantic retreat" with outdoor kitchen and shower, chicken house, and two-hole traditional Swedish "utedass"–or privy. As to where to sleep ... well you may lay your head anywhere -- under the stars, atop a pinnacle, out in a field or sheltered in the woods by the river.
BUT this is "DIY" camping -- as we have day jobs we are unable to cater to your every whim and you will have to be able to "depend on yourself" to negotiate the campground, set up your campsite and secure needed resources. Thus if there is any concern or question you really should stay at one of our other properties either Camp Toasty or Pinnacle Springs Recreational Camp. PLEASE -- we don't want to be bothered with phone calls and text messages -- not here anyway.
Trails from Sparky's Cabin lead in all directions offer access to hiking, swimming, fishing and paddling. You'll find no better place to "forest bathe".

The cottage is well furnished, very private, and includes convenient outdoor outlets for overnight electric vehicle charging. The cottage has two double beds in the lower level bedroom as well as a queen bed in the upper level loft. A futon couch in the living room folds out to a double bed, as needed. The kitchen has plenty of dishes, pots and pans, and cooking utensils of every kind. Both the stove and refrigerator are full size, there is also a microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and the kitchen table seats six. Bed linens, towels, pillows and blankets are supplied. The bath is a tub and shower combination. There is a charcoal grill in the yard, but please bring your own charcoal and lighter fluid. Enjoy our screened deck, covered picnic area, and outdoor fire pit and there is ample level parking for vehicles, canoes, and other outdoor gear. We offer Satellite TV. This place is very cool. If you are a fan of Hip-Camps that are located off the beaten trail this one is totally for you! It had a fridge and freezer, washer and dryer and two AC units. The outside is misleading because the inside is really nice. There is a good chance I'll be staying here again! The only thing id say that is not a positive in the long drive from the road to the cabin itself thats gravel, dirt and grass. Not ideal of motorcycles. But id still give it a high rating!

Weekend Trip to The Ridge at Buffalo Point
We had so much fun at this cabin! It’s the right size for a weekend getaway with a bed, small Roku TV, microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, grill, and fire pit. The private bathhouse was a short walk from the cabin and was nice after a long day of outdoor activities. The property also offers a disc golf totem, swings, and open area to run around in. The location is also really close to the lower area of the Buffalo River. Easily a 5-10 minute drive to anything. Also, loved having Wild Bills, a gas station and convenience store, a short walk away for anything we forgot or needed. Loved meeting the gray kitty on the property. He was an absolute sweetheart and loved pets. Would definitely stay here again!!

Cabin is close to main road but was quiet, we did not hear any road noise but it is located away from town.
Convient store was up front made it easy if you needed anything or just wanted to walk over to get breakfast or lunch.
Everything you need was provided.
No stove but microwave was present.
We just needed a place to lay down our head a couple of nights after a long day at an event. Served our purpose and was much cheaper than a hotel and quieter because you don't have people coming up and down the hall way and people all around. You have your own personal space which was nice.

We had the best stay at Sherita's site! The camper was adorable and stayed cool and comfortable even during a severe heat warning! The bed and cushions at the table were both super comfortable and we slept great.
Sherita was the best host! From fresh eggs, the cutest coffee bar with fresh coffee in the barn each morning, and wonderful conversation, she had it all! We loved taking with her and learning about and interacting with her animals. The outdoor shower had fantastic water pressure and was private enough that you didn't feel exposed.
The site is perfectly located for whatever you want to do. We were able to drive to Petit Jean for hiking, to Morrilton for food or supplies, or a little further to Conway for shopping and fun.
We HIGHLY recommend staying here and can't wait to see what the future holds for this site and Sherita!
