The Lake Wilson Retreat is our 35 acre private property, peacefully situated atop the wooded mountains near Lake Wilson. On the property is The Shed, a simple campsite where you'll find a fire pit and a simple sleeping cabin with a full size platform bed frame and wood stove to enjoy. An ideal place to clear your head.
The Shed comfortably sleep two (2) adults, but you are welcome to bring tents for up to to four (4) other additional campers. We provide a full size platform bed frame, but guests will need to bring their own blow up mattress or camp pads for comfort — as well as all bedding / pillows / towels.
About Lake Wilson:
Lake Wilson Park is comprised of approximately 320 acres of land with 28 acres of water. Park visitors can experience boating, fishing, nature watching, picnicking, and hiking. The park is also an off-leash dog park with both sunny and shady places for pets to enjoy. The nature trail runs almost entirely through the woods with views of the lake and ancient rock formations. There are also lots of beautiful wildflowers in the spring!

This land is a six acre slice of property that includes a meadow, wooded areas, a small pine forest, native stones galore, a steep mountain side, giant boulders, a wet weather stream and pond, and 2 old tin barns. From West to East, the property starts flat but then begins to slope upward as it runs from the base of Fitzgerald Mountain Eastward nearly to the top of the mountain. The former homestead was removed within the past 20 years, creating a fantastic spot for the campground. Fitzgerald station is nearby, and served as a stop on the Butterfield overland stagecoach mail route that was used in the 1800s. Downtown Springdale is 2 miles away, and the pubs and restaurants cater to bikers. A paved trail is planned for the near future that will provide bike access to downtown.*Note* Backing up to a turn around area will be required for exit from the RV spots.

Camp right next to the Illinois River under giant oaks, ash trees, and sycamores with a waterfall behind you and the river in front. Or move up the hill and enjoy the 10 mile view (when leaves are dropped) while watching the sunset. Seriously, it’s the best view west of Fayetteville. The deep shade of the campsite with the breeze coming over river keeps the space surprisingly cool even in extreme heat. Feeling fun? Camp in the old dirt mine with 10’ walls around you shaded by a massive pine growing in the center and oaks around the perimeter.
Hiking trails have been cut for you to enjoy the property. Make sure to check out “Mini Hawksbill Crag”- a rocky outcropping hanging off the cliff side. Another fun trail leads you up a creek bed with multiple small waterfalls.
A couple canoes and kayaks are available to float the river if you desire as an add on. You can go upstream easily in normal water flow!
If you’re looking for fun family time with your kids, I will do whatever I can to help you during your stay to make lasting memories. We’re big believers in families enjoying the outdoors together!
A truck can be driven to riverside campsite when dry or there is a 100 yard walk from a small parking area. More vehicles can be parked on top of hill which is 5 minute walk.
There is a picnic table and fire pit at the riverside campsite. Bald Eagles are seen most days in the winter. Birders will also appreciate the feeder in the campsite.
Fishing poles are available as an add on. You can bring your own too! Catch small mouth, large mouth, bream, crappie, catfish, gar, and carp/buffalo, but you’re competing with the neighborhood beaver so be on the lookout for him! Please release small mouth besides a legal keeper is 14" (6-7 year old fish!) and limit of 2.
Rear wheeled drive vehicles should park at the parking area by old stable

We have 40 acres of woods, tiny waterfalls, hiking, stargazing, bird watching, and sunset watching for the campers who like primitive camping. Enjoy the best of both worlds with a quiet, natural area to camp in, and destinations to see close by. Private area with sun, and plenty of shade. Blackberry's are available to pick in late June or early July. There are three logging trails that you can bush wack your way through just behind the campground. Access to Beaver Lake is a short drive or a long hike down the scenic rock roads. We have a private swimming area on our property which is just a short hike from the developed campsites (Please ask the camphost for directions).
There are miles of county maintained bumpy dirt roads leading to the site. Expect your vehicle to get dusty. There is a creek crossing that is required to reach the campsites. We recommend high clearance and/or 4WD or AWD vehicles. If you are unable to cross the creek, you will need to park in the parking area and walk across the creek to reach your site.

Handmade modern rustic off grid glamping cabin. Sits down in the valley overlooking a small creek. Located between America's First National River, the Buffalo River and the most unique town in the Ozarks, Eureka Springs, AR. Just 6 miles to the Kings River. Surrounded by hiking, mountain biking, floating, fishing and hunting. Built with an emphasis on using locally milled rough sawn timber, reclaimed materials and handmade details throughout.
This is an off-grid glamping cabin. The parking area is just down the hill from the cabin. It's a short walk up to the cabin, you will need to across the foot bridge over the creek and up a few steps to the cabin. The terrain on the property could be muddy or loose at times. Always watch your footing. There is no running water, but there is an 8-gallon jug over the sink for drinking and washing. Extra water available for longer stays. Composting toilet outhouse behind the cabin. Compost toilet bucket is cleaned out after every guest. Propane hot water shower is only available in the warmer months (usually April through October). The cabin is powered by a small solar panel setup. Please do not plug in any personal devices. They could damage the electrical system or overwork it. USB charging dock for phones, laptops, etc. Good cell service with most providers. Basic LED lighting. Direct vent propane heater. Full size memory foam mattress with plenty of warm blankets. There is a two-burner propane cooktop and mini fridge. Bowls, plates, cups and silverware for two guests. Basic food prep items are also available. Round 2-person dining table looking out the big picture window. The creek will be running when there is sufficient rainfall. Guests have access to the designated trails. Neat place to park for a quick bike ride and overnight stay. The goats are fun and there are mountain bike trails easily accessible. The farm dogs are a little scary when you first arrive as they were barking aggressively so close to me I could feel their hot breath on my legs when I first arrived. They calmed down a few minutes after arrival and I think they are probably harmless. Overall good spot and I would stay there again if I needed a quick overnight spot.

Amazing site and great host. Be sure you have directions clear before losing service. The water crossing to get to the campsites is a little treacherous so be aware you may have to cross on foot from parking area depending on your car. Couldn't ask for a better location. Would definitely stay again.

We were the only campers the first night and were joined by one other the second night.
Damon could not have been more welcoming and gracious. He is a wealth of local knowledge and was very helpful in offering us maps and suggestions. If we come back to the Bentonville area, we would definitely try to stay here again.

Convenient location and can ride from site. Had the place to myself. Only thing somewhat annoying is hearing the expressway and the backside of the campground all night long. Just treat it as white noise as it’s constant. One porta-potty to share on site and a dumpster.

If you have a chance to visit this property, do it. The campsite is down a somewhat narrow dirt track, but if you’ve got a Subaru or anything with higher clearance, you’ll make it no problem.
The whole 60 acres are beautiful with multiple trails throughout for exploring. Our dog spent the first 4-6 hours of our trip running back and forth between the river and the personal waterfall that frames the back of the campsite.
In spite of recent rains, the campsite was pretty dry and incredibly private- the only company we had were the herons, Canada geese, and bald eagles we saw flying over the river. If you’re planning a group campout, family trip, or romantic scenic getaway, this is your spot.
It’s also close enough to town that bathroom trips were manageable- no more than 10 minutes to a few public options. If you have a camp toilet to bring, it might help for emergencies, but honestly isn’t necessary.

Red and Judy had a warm greeting for us when we pulled in and showed us where everything was. The place is well laid out for connecting everything, firewood split and waiting at our site. The 3 bath houses are the best! Nice hot showers and a clean bathroom with sink and mirror is an amazing thing to come back to after a day of sweating in bike shorts. The facility is new and awesome and Red is still making improvements. Put more stone and a bunch of fresh mulch down while we were there. It's obvious they care a lot about the campers. The 1/2 mile loop trail is a fun little time trial and would be great at night with a light kit. See ya again soon, Red!
