It’s also a great place to bring your ATV, dirt bike, or favorite pew-pews to go play Mad Max Beyond Thunderchicken out in the state land. There’s a little something for everybody if you know what I mean. Night time is very dark out here. There are no street lights because Kitt Peak National Observatory is just over yonder. You can see it from the property. Most nights the Milky Way is clear and visible in the sky. I have pathway lights, and low lumen lighting around the park, but a flashlight is still helpful for getting around at night. Next door is a bird sanctuary with 2 macaws (Blue Bird and Max), and halfway up the mountain (Keystone Peak) is an abandoned fluorite mine you can go explore. We are in the foothills of the Sierrita Mountains, at an elevation of 3,200 ft. That’s 1,000 ft higher than Tucson, and 2,000 ft higher than Phoenix. The plant life is very lush and green for the desert, and the wildlife is plentiful.

Camping at Saguaro Glamp was such a treat! We enjoyed just hanging out and spending time in nature. The tent was spacious with a very comfortable bed. The hot shower was wonderful as was the pellet heater for our cool nights. Conny and her crew were so friendly and attentive to whatever we needed. We felt right at home there. Would definitely go back given the opportunity.

Had a really great stay in The Cannonball. The little cabin was super cute and cozy, and Jennifer gave us a mini tour when we arrived which was such a nice touch. She was very reachable the whole time and genuinely warm and hospitable. The paths around the property are really well lit, which made walking around at night easy. Everything was clean, peaceful, and quiet. The only sounds we heard were wildlife, which made it feel even more relaxing. We also really appreciated having access to a toilet, sink, and shower. That made the stay way more comfortable. The only small thing is the cabin could use a bit more insulation for warmth, but the host mentioned they’re already working on a solution for constant heat flow. And the stargazing out there is AMAZING.

1 night at Mesquite Haven

My partner and I spent a single night of our cross-country road trip here when we passed through the desert. And all I can say is that I wish we had spent a couple of weeks there. It was a remarkable place that Jennifer and Craig are building step by step. You will hear a little lost highway noise and rumblings of coyotes, horses and a few cats at night - but walking into an instant community makes up for all that. The tent is wonderful with communal shower (great hot water) and loo. A communal kitchen with amenities is available to come back to the the tent and cook on the propane grill. It was idyllic. A great way to cap off a trip. I will be back.

Easy to find and easy to settle into. Close to town but far enough to feel like you are in the country. The little trailer had everything I needed to spend a few days in peace and enough comfort. Outdoor bathroom and shower are nice and convenient. Great hiking in the area. Barb was helpful and responsive.

I booked this trip on a whim last minute and wasn’t sure to expect but they didn’t disappoint. Everything was nicely put together, clean and organized, and clear cut. 2 nights at Mesquite Haven

Me and my boyfriend had an amazing time visiting Mesquite Haven. We’re not even 2 hours away so we decided to give it a go and it wasn’t a disappointment. We stayed in the Tombstone Rose, it was cozy, spacious, clean & already had a heater inside, which they’ll show you how to use. They also will provide a Jackery for charging & to plug in the lights that are in there. Jennifer a Dave are very nice, chill & welcoming if you need anything all you gotta do is ask and they’ll come see what’s up. Right when you arrive Jennifer will be outside to show you everything, where to park, the restroom area, where to go look and explore literally everything. Then like I said earlier they are very nice people you can talk to them, it was nice getting to know them. Lastly they are pet friendly. Our dog did cause a little problem but we just contacted them right away and they came over to see what the situation was, they didn’t make us feel bad or anything because accidents do happen. Just be straight up with them and they will be with you too. So yeah I highly recommend coming here for a visit. Can’t wait to come again.

5 nights at Gila River View

This was one of the best places we've ever stayed! The host, Amber, was incredible and made sure we had everything we needed. The area is secluded and private and we never heard any noise other than nature. We loved that it's a working cattle ranch with horses, cattle, and pigs. The animals were all friendly and never bothered us. Oh, there was a very friendly barn cat that did snuggle with us a bunch! The camper was an amazing accommodation that offered everything we needed for an indoor experience and sleeping. The hiking opportunities are endless here! With just a 10 minute hike you can be on the top of a mountain overlooking 2 different valleys that the Gila river runs through. In about a 20-25ish minute hike you can make it from the camp clear into a hidden valley on the back side and make it right up to a secret spot next to the Gila river. We spent half a day at this spot relaxing and enjoying the weather and nature! It's about a 10 minute drive to the nearest town for any supplies or if you want a restaurant. We only went once to get more drinking water and we were back at camp within the hour! We will definitely stay here again! We love the place and it's less than 2 hours from our house! A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Thank you so much Amber! We appreciated everything you did to make our stay wonderful! : )

We stayed in one of their two bunkhouses.. Super cozy, kind of car culture themed.. The other one was more Western.. Close by, they have The Barn.. A simple kitchen and bathroom, available for everyone on the property to use.. ALL utensils, supplies, and grille tools. Super thoughtful! We opted for a couple of the Add-Ons.. Jen took very good attention to our requests! Next time, we're TOTALLY staying in the Tombstone Rose. We were really impressed with the property.. Did some local spots, ajen suggested.. They really have thought about almost everything! Thanks for the experience! We'll be back!

My stay at Maxine and Chad's Hdden Oasis was wonderful. Due to circumstances, I was upgraded to a Casita. It was so very cute, had a nice kitchen, a lovely shower, and a very comfortable bed. It was perfect for my need. The love and attention given to Hdden Oasis as a parent everywhere you look. Every detail is delightful and exudes a loving presence I hope to come back again with my husband and spend more time here. This place, surrounded by intriguing mountains, which I have no doubt are dripping with birds during spring migration, is truly a gem.

A gem of a place that I can’t recommend enough! A friend and I stayed here for a night in our transition from Sedona to Tucson and absolutely loved it. Conny and her family are the kindest people and so knowledgeable about the area. The casitas are gorgeous- well decorated and with cozy amenities. Will be coming back to stay again.
