Hiking and horseback riding trails lead directly from the property into Spur Cross Conservation Area—or take a short 10-minute drive to a main trailhead. Welcome to Red Rock Roping! Where you will be a close 3 mile drive to old town Cave Creek restaurants, bars, and shopping strip. But far enough to enjoy a quiet and peaceful scenery of mountains, sunsets and sunrises. Don’t forget to kick your feet up, and end your night to enjoy a wide open view of the stars! Also, keep your eyes open for desert critters such as rattlesnakes, tarantulas, scorpions, deer, road runners, bob cats, and coyotes. Our 2 accessible acres will give you 360 view of mountains, our Red Rock Roping arena, and a Saloon to gather under to enjoy cool refreshments, and a meal with your friends/family. Right outside our entrance going North on 80th Street you can hike over to the Grapevine Wash which is a short walk away from the Cave Creek Town Trail System for hiking and horseback riding, and if you’re adventurous you can hike up 2 miles of a 800’ climb on a gravel road/trails to “Mexican Hat” for an even more incredible view! We are a 30 amp full hook up (sewer, water & electrical) for 33’ RV’s and living quarters horse trailers. You will also have access to our community laundry area, with a large garbage can to dump a bag if needed.
Some suggestions for town; Grab some quick delicous breakfast and coffee at Janey’s. Or American cuisine lunch at The Horny Toad, a Mexican cuisine dinner while watching the turtles in the pond at El Encanto! Ofrenda, right at the end of the road, also has great authentic Mexican cuisine. Many restaurants to choose from all within a short drive. Bashas, Safeway, Target, and Walmart and Sprouts are all within a 3-6 mile drive too!
We have two turnout pens for horses. That are located right behind where you will park your trailer. They both have a cover that provides some shade, as well as running water. We do not provide any feed, so please make sure you bring some! We ask that you please do not feed any horses that do not belong to you. Or go into any pen that your horse is not in. For safety and respect :) Thank you in advance.

We have two casitas on our property, and we also offer spots for those wishing to stay in their own van; however, these spots do not have restroom or electric hookups.
We also have a stationary 35-foot fifth wheel with an enclosed patio area. Whether you’re looking to stay “put” or your plans include adventuring during the day and hitting the bars at night, you’ll be centrally located.
We’re surrounded by horse properties, so it’s not unusual to see riders out. In fact, if you’re lucky, you might even spot one going through the Starbucks drive-through! We’re within a 5-minute drive of both Dove Valley and Rancho Mañana golf courses, quite a few places to rent ATVs, and amazing hikes ranging from short and easy to climbing Black Mountain—which can be seen from just about anywhere on our property—and everything in between. Oh, and did I mention the temperatures are 5–8 degrees cooler than Phoenix?

Margarita Ranch is such a unique and beautiful place to stay! It was the perfect introduction to the Phoenix area for us. So many huge, beautiful saguaros, super dark at night to see the sky lit up with stars, and the friendliest pigs, horses, and donkeys to pet. Macy was a super communicative and hospitable host. We even found a wonderful hike to do after we checked out that was an under 15 minute drive from the site— Jewel of the Creek Preserve. We had such a great time.

Reck Rock Roping is in a quiet location with beautiful views, yet conveniently located near restaurants, shopping, and great mountain bike and hiking trails. The hosts are extremely accommodating, kind, and offer great hospitality. Easily the best Hipcamp experience we’ve had. We’ve stayed there twice and plan to return in the future.

Great camp location with easy access to conveniences while still being close to trails, countryside, mountains, and great hiking. The camp is professionally run, and it shows — the host has truly thought of everything to make the stay comfortable and easy.
We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub and the friendly goats, and the free-range chickens were the most well-mannered we’ve ever seen — present but never intrusive.
A relaxing, well-organized spot that we’d absolutely stay at again. Highly recommended.

We loved staying at Red Rock Roping! We were there for a week and plan to stay a month, next time. Mel was wonderful to work with and couldn’t have been more accommodating. Having full hookups seemed like a dream and the added facilities were unbelievable. We have never stayed at a nicer HipCamp! You can’t beat the views!

Macy’s place was perfect for us! Quick drive to get out of Phoenix. Not too rustic, plenty of creature comforts, yet out of town with VIEWS and peaceful country setting. The ranch animals were a hit for my little girl. It was a three minute drive back to town for morning coffee. Brought it back to the trailer and enjoyed the peaceful, quiet morning. Macy and family were very accommodating. Her place felt very safe. Pet friendly was a plus.

My friend and I stayed in the Trailer at the ranch and it was so special! It was easy to find and the nearby town was super cute. Macy was easy to get ahold of and we had so much fun meeting her Pigs. We also did the hour long horse ride and it was a highlight of our trip. Would definitely recommend!
