We (Tim and Victoria) moved out to our place in the desert in February 2008 along with our many plants. We have continued to grow our little farm of 6 acres to what it is today, which includes an orchard with about 50 fruit and nut trees and enclosed garden/greenhouse structures with veggies and herbs that are protected from wildlife and the elements. We have a seasonally heated pool with 3/4 wraparound deck and amazing views of the Tucson Mountains. We have a basketball court, a ping pong table, cornhole court as well for recreation. Our Beach site has a domed 'chill zone' with heaters in the winter, comfortable chairs for relaxation and a great spot to let your dog hang out unleashed. Our Prickly Pear site has a pull through for campers and RVs. Our RV site has 30 amp electric and black water dump station. All of our sites are fenced in, and have many, many cool amenities such as fire pits, sinks with fresh, pure water, table with 4 chairs, gas grills and lounge chairs/porch swing. Our property in a 160-acre neighborhood surrounded by open desert state lands. In our sustainable community/neighborhood are like minded, peaceful people who are as connected to and respectful of the land as we are. We have been traveling full time in our RV for 6 months and this was one of our favorite stays. Bill and his family are great hosts, and made us feel right at home. Our kids loved the in ground trampoline, the hot tub and the playground, and there was plenty of room for them to run around. The equine experience was a highlight for our family, and we learned a lot about horses. Couldn’t recommend Double H Hacienda any higher.

I stayed at Site #1 and was immediately impressed by how thoughtfully everything was set up. The space is huge with wide-open views, and the little details—like the soft nighttime lighting—make it feel both beautiful and functional after dark. It’s just bright enough to see without taking away from the calm, peaceful vibe. Even though I never met the host in person, he was absolutely amazing. We texted back and forth quite a bit, and when I ran into an issue with my 30-amp plug, he walked offered to let me come up to his property to use his own plug adapter. That level of support really meant a lot. I highly, highly recommend this place. It’s quiet, calming, and incredibly relaxing—exactly what I needed.

We had the most amazing stay at Lionel’s. Beautiful property to spend our little getaway. All hookups worked and there were no issues finding the location. Super private and beautiful location. It was awesome to be able to see all the stars at night. The place was clean and cozy and perfect for what we needed. I do recommend bringing extra lighting, if you want to move around at night. Thankfully we did. I would return

This was our first time with Hipcamp and very impressed. First off Tim & Victoria went out of their way to make sure everything was ok. It had sites set so you weren’t super close. They just opened Playa Tortuga Ultra Lounge a domed space to meet with the other campers to visit stay out of the heat or use a heater on cold night or a propane fire pit and visiting. They have several other things to do for activities. Our campsite had a propane grill, sink and running water, fire ring, table and chairs and a tub with extras if you forgot something. Nothing was left out and we didn’t even bring all our usual stuff for tent camping as they had it for us. Fun place to stay

Weekend Trip to Double H Hacienda

Bill met us when we arrived. He was very friendly and helpful as was his wife Colleen. The entire property is gated and friendly dogs don’t need to be leashed. The location was near Saddlebrook which is what we were looking for. Our site was level and easy to get to. The area was pretty quiet with doves cooing most of the time we were there. Bill and Colleen both said there was a lot of work they still needed to do on the property, but we had everything we needed for our 3 night stay.

We absolutely loved our stay! The location was beautiful and unique, surrounded by scenic views and huge boulders that made the whole experience feel extra special. The cabin itself was cozy and perfect for a peaceful overnight getaway with my wife and our dogs. Cole, the host, went above and beyond by providing thoughtful amenities like fresh well water in a barrel, firewood, a lighter, a grill with propane, and even small but super helpful items like paper towels and dishes. It’s clear that a lot of care was put into making the place comfortable and welcoming. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to relax and enjoy nature with a few comforts included.

Ample room to park even the largest RV or trailer and room to back up or turn around. All with the view of the Catalina mountains right there.

Cannot say enough positive things about Chris and the wonderful spot he and his wife provided. Close to conveniences such as markets, carb wash, laundromat, dining etc. yet feels like it’s country. Sitting under the gazebo and viewing all the birds thanks to the bird feeders being stocked regularly was such a plus for us. Even a rubbish bin was provided (fellow HipCampers; please do not abuse it by overfilling). One truly feels at home here. We hated to leave! Would definitely come again and happy to recommend!

We really enjoyed this location. It was very beautiful and peaceful. The sunset and sunrise views are spectacular. The campsite was easy to get in and out of. We were first time rv camping and a level spot was a must and this had it! We hiked and explored the property. We got woke up by some javelinas but we are amateur campers and left a griddle outside on a small table that might have attracted them. It will be a fun story to tell either way!
