Meadview Arizona was founded in 1826 by Jedediah Smith on his Southwest Expedition in search for Beaver! Staying a small remote and quiet town it can feel like it would have in the Wild West. We obtained our campground from a couple that owned it for 20 years but just weren't able to do to it what they had originally planned.. So it was essentially a blank canvas for us to create!! We are the closest town to the Grand Canyon SKYWALK, which is just 40 minutes from us. Meadview, the town we are located, is the only place to obtain Free Entree to the Lake Mead Recreational Center. Our Campground just 10 miles from Lake Mead and 17 Miles from the Colorado River. We have outstanding Lookouts, Top notch Stargazing, Gold Prospecting, Bird Watching, Fishing, Off Roading etc. Some of the Best Desert Off-Roading through trails within the Joshua Tree National Forest, Please note you must bring your own OHV, horse, etc, there is currently no rentals available. We do have Kayaks to rent upon arrival. There is a hidden water fall in the Grapevine Wash that you can get to with a 4 wheel vehicle and you hike in about 15 minutes in. Stunning views and gorgeous natural spring and waterfall. We are 45 minutes off the 93 Freeway Free WIFI provided at the office!.. The town doesn't always have a powerful signal, please keep that in mind in your travels. However, if you have Verizon, it gets GREAT service! There are three restaurants in town, all just one mile from site... The Boathouse, Anchor Smokehouse and Fishermans Landing Bar. We have a Bakery called Rosemary and Thyme that serves Delicious foods & Pastries and makes great coffees. There is also a Gas n Grub that has ice, propane etc... 5 miles away is a Family Dollar store which we lovingly call the "Mall of Meadview"

Depending on the time of year, hunting may be in season, with Deer and Elk. Remember that hunting is permitted if you have a valid hunting license, on the adjacent mile-wide parcel of State Trust land sprawling out to the west of the property. Roads are accessible most of the year with just about any kind of vehicle - as long as the weather is nice. So be sure the check the weather report or almanac before planning your visit. If the weather is dry, just about any kind of car, truck or trailer can make it down the 10-miles of dirt road to get to the property. If rain is on the calendar, you're going to need 4-wheel-drive and clearance. The dirt roads develop deep mud patches that can mire most cars or trailers. There will also be snow in the wintertime - so plan accordingly for mud, ice, and rough roads. But most of the year is easy as long as it's dry!

The field was the perfect backyard oasis we needed. Use of the hot tub was amazing, beautiful landscape with dog areas to use. We stayed in cabin 1 so we could park our van next to the cabin. In walking distance to shopping and restaurants.

I loved camping at Lori’s Field. It was perfect for our needs traveling with a 19’ Sprinter van and also rented #1 cabin, due to my husband getting a bad cold and wanting to allow him to be in his own environment for rest. The cabin had all the necessary facilities including shower, toilet and sink. Along with a microwave, kerig coffee pot and small fridge. Also grateful for the electric hookup for van. Easy directions and close enough to town for all your needs.

This worked out perfectly for our cross country road trip. We arrived late and left early, so we couldn’t enjoy the amenities, but it looked like a fun place. There was a pool and a hot tub. Some cabins and tent areas. Ample parking. Very secure. Requires a gate code for access to the property. Easy to find.

What a hidden gem of a spot to camp with family! If you’re looking for a place to set up camp near the Skywalk at Grand Canyon definitely check out Happy Trails. Keep an eye on the weather, the roads can get a bit mushy on your way in and out. I would definitely stay here again :)

“The Field” is a neat as a pin, beautiful camping compound. Though right in town, once inside the gate, the neighborhood disappears altogether and we instantly felt a relaxing “I’m on vacation!” vibe. The hosts Lori & Brian were very friendly & helpful, though their prior instructions were spot on, so it was an easy process getting in and setting up our spot. The pool was a real treat! After a day of traveling, it was just what I needed and I was in that pool within minutes of our arrival. If/when we come through the area again, we’ll definately book again there.

Was just a blank space in the desert that I intended to use for astronomy. The highway is about a mile or a mile and a half away. There’s one there but you. Gerardo is very helpful if you reach out to him. Good instructions for how to get there, though I suggest reviewing it on Google maps before you go. The most helpful tip he gave was the GPS coordinates so you could find it on the map.

Donna absolutely welcomed us on to her personal land. She described areas to hike and placing to see. Her pups were a joy to see and very friendly. We plan to make another trip in the future to see her lovely property. Very close to Kingman and the Colorado River in Bullhead.

5 nights at Bournholm - Now with Starlink!

Very quiet spot… We were only ones there! Property is beautiful and well maintained. Beautiful sunset and sunrise. 10 mile dirt road is not a problem for any vehicle. I drove a class C RV. Just go slow and enjoy the sights! Plenty of wildlife is a plus!
