The Yavapai people, who speak Yuman, are closely related to the Hualapai, Supai, and other tribes along the Colorado River. Following the hardships of the 19th century, the survivors of these tribes were officially united under the Indian Reorganization Act of 1934, forming the Yavapai-Apache Tribe, which became the Yavapai-Apache Nation in 1992.
The ancestors of the Yavapai and Dilzhe’e Apache were skilled hunters and gatherers, living harmoniously with the land and leaving minimal traces for archaeologists to uncover. Their seasonal movements were guided by the availability of resources and personal preferences.

The hospitality we received from Chris was phenomenal! We wish we could have stayed longer than one night! All our needs were met and they beyond exceeded our expectations. From the dog park to the hot tub, and being welcomed with a handwritten note; you don't come across hospitality and amenities like this anymore. We were so happy with our stay and are already planning on coming back for many more family vacations at The Outpost! Thank you so much for the wonderful stay :)

Such a perfect stay! The cabin is perfect size for two people and the hot tub was perfect as well. There’s bamboo outside that helps with the privacy which is very nice! The location puts you out in nature but also very close to downtown Cottonwood which was a blast to visit! We will for sure be back!

I was a little hesitant to book the airstream because there were little reviews but I’m so glad we did. We had a great time staying in the airstream with four adults and two kids - it was the perfect spot to kick back and unwind after a long day at Grand Canyon. The airstream had everything in it that we needed and we all enjoyed the hot tub and the sauna! There are limited amenities nearby (at least this time of year) so plan ahead and bring dinner with you like we did. Although there is a Chevron if you need snacks or beer etc. We will definitely be returning to rent the airstream again!

We loved this tiny home! Such a thoughtfully curated space despite its small size. Sean and Christina are amazing hosts and we’re very grateful for our stay here. The hot tub was great for chilly evenings and the location was superb - very quiet and peaceful. There are two other Stargazer options on site nearby but are spaced apart pretty well. Would definitely stay here again if coming back to Sedona area - be sure to check out both Sedona and Verde Valley if staying here! Thank you Sean and Christina!

Such a cute place, it was perfect very comfortable. A little noisy but that’s what we expected being in a covered wagon. But the bathroom and shower was very nice and clean and very welcoming after all the hiking.

I stayed in one of the glamping wagons and loved it. The location near Sedona was great and the wagon itself was so cute and campy. It honestly felt like Oregon Trail in real life. It was perfect for two people and felt private, clean, and comfortable. The locked private bathroom for our wagon was such a nice surprise. The RV resort amenities were great too, especially the hot tub and pool after a long day of hiking. I highly recommend it.

Weekend Trip to Verde River Vortex
Our host went above and beyond to make everything about this experience amazing. The stay was so soulful. We took the opportunity for river kayaking, and it was made so easy with our hosts help. We were blessed to be able take the time to spend a quiet day painting rocks and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. A few nights under the stars on the loft deck were the reset we needed. Can’t boast more about this stay. Highly recommend all of it.

We stayed in the conestoga wagon and it was so fun! Very comfortable and clean and the private bathhouse was perfect! They had fun Halloween events while we were there and all of the buildings we went in were very clean and very nice! Would definitely recommend staying here!!

We created some very special memories staying at Jason's cabin and meeting Jason! The nature that surrounds the cabin is stunning and is a great getaway. We used hot bubbly Jacuzzi under a beautiful sky after our long hike. We all loved climbing up on the loft just to chill and observe beautiful sky and feel some fresh air. Jason welcomed us so kindly and made us feel home. The cabin and Jason's hospitality is so special and something that is hard to find elsewhere. We highly recommend! Thank you so much Jason! We will be back!
