Escape to a private campsite in rural Alabama. The property is surrounded by forest and wildlife. There are several places to hang a hammock and plenty of room for outdoor games like cornhole. The city of Columbus is about 25 minutes away and offers white water rafting, zip lining, axe throwing, a river-walk, and other activities. There are plenty of lakes and rivers to go fishing. Auburn is about 40 mins away. The site offers an outhouse, fire pit, fire pit grill rack for cooking, platform (which can be used for small/medium tents, or to hold a table and chairs) and a hiking trail that is about 1/3 of a mile. Small cars are able to access campsite and park at site pretty easily. The property also has natural wildlife like coyotes, snakes, spiders, ants, etc.. Alabama can also get very hot during June, July, August. Please prepare accordingly. Meeting at the front of the property is not needed, just drive to your hipcamp and set up 🙂 Please message me about any concerns! About us: My wife and I bought this property in 2020 with the goal of turning this land into a homestead. We plan on building a home eventually and have cleared out our homesite. My mom and stepfather live at the front of the property and can help you if needed. My stepfather is retired and my mother works as a nurse assistant in town. Camp Travelhick is located off an easy on/off main road. A small private driveway leads to an automatic 20' wide secure, coded gate. The camp has two level camping sites. Site 1 is a large 40x62 cement site that can accommodate larger campers/motorhomes with full hookups (electric, water, & sewer). Site 2 is a smaller packed gravel site which is 16x32 with electric and water. Both sites have 50/30/amp connections. For your convenience, there is an additional dump station on the property. Our camping area offers a covered pavilion with two picnic tables, lighting, fans, and a charcoal grill. There is also has an outdoor fire pit for those cold nights or for s’mores! The camping area is about 1.3 acres fully fenced in so pet owners can allow their pets run around and have some secure space without having to worry about a leash. Bring your ATV's or side by sides! The back side of the property has almost 50 acres of ATV and walking trails. A spring fed private 1.5 acre stocked pond with a covered and lighted boat/fishing dock is also located on the property. Both options sit alongside Sofkahatchee creek. We have 15 acres of untouched forest to wonder through and help you reconnect with mother nature. It’s my favorite spot for meditation and grounding. The sky is amazingly dark around here and stargazing would be at the top of my list of things I love about the property. This area is full of wildlife. Raccoons, deer, turkey, possums, armadillo, snakes, and even bears. I haven’t personally ran in to any bears but they have been sited. So, who knows what you will befriend while in the wild. The camping areas are very private. It’s part of a 50 acre lot that has recently been cleared and in the process of reseeding and preparing for a pond and farm life. So, sorry if you run in to anything that isn’t picturesque but your camp site will be beautiful and peaceful. AMENITIES: We want your stay to be as comfortable as possible! Our little town of Wetumpka is only 9 miles down the road. It's located right on the Coosa River, where you can kayak/canoe (coosariveradventures.com), launch your boat or fish year round at Gold State Park which also has a fantastic play area for kids with a nice walking trail that goes along the river. Stop in at Coosa River Craft House or Coosa Cleaver for refreshing adult beverages and live music. Look for the Big Fish house. It's the big white house on the hill. We are 9 miles from Lake Jordan and 11 miles from Lake Martin. Fort Toulouse National Historic Park is 25 minutes away. There you can tour over 6,000 years of history. You can tour the French and American Forts or the Mississippian Indian Mound site, or just relax and take a walk along the trails. https://fttoulousejackson.org/ Just 15 minutes east of us is Swayback Bridge https://www.riverregionmtb.org/swayback-bridge-trail. There are five loop trials available, ranging from 1 miles to 11.2 miles. You can hike or bike them. The bridge is 290 feet long and goes over Lake Jordan. Wind Creek Casino Wetumpka is 10 miles and Montgomery location is only 16 miles from our property, if you want to chance your luck with some gaming. We are 20 miles from Montgomery, which is jam packed with civil rights historical sites, museums, a zoo, fabulous restaurants, a riverboat cruise on the Alabama River, a sip and cycle pedal boat cruise

Location: 6 minutes from Dollar General 8 minutes from "Union" Public boat ramp on Lake Martin. 39 minutes from Jordan Hare Stadium. Description: The property is 75 feet wide and stretches 210 feet back from the road. Shaded with trees, flat, plenty of room for pitching a tent. The driveway clearing large enough for a car plus camper or RV. I don't have dimensions, but use the pictures of my Jeep for reference. For now, you must decide if your rig will fit. The driveway ground is hard, but there isn't any gravel on the drive yet, so be mindful of parking during rain or soggy conditions. There is a fire ring and a few chairs to enjoy socializing or plenty of trees to hang a hammock and relax. Basically a quiet place to relax, in an undeveloped neighborhood, and pretend you are in a backcountry tent site, 6 minutes from Dollar General :) War Eagle!

We had another great camping experience on David’s property. The property was well maintained as usual, which made the whole stay comfortable and stress-free. Everything was clean, organized, and clearly cared for. One of my favorite parts of the trip was taking morning walks on the trails — they’re incredibly peaceful and a perfect way to start the day. It’s such a relaxing setting, especially if you’re looking to unwind and enjoy nature. David is also a very responsive host, which makes planning and staying there even easier. He communicates quickly and makes sure everything runs smoothly. I’d definitely recommend staying here if you’re looking for a quiet, well-kept place to camp!

My wife and I were returning from a long trip to west Texas and stopped for a good rest at Emily's land- absolutely beautiful, peaceful spot with lots of solitude. Basically simply a large field with trees and a pond- perfect for us. Emily was delightful providing prompt and easy directions. We enjoyed Travelhick. The two travel trailer sites were spaced by several hundred feet apart making them very private. The fencing that surrounds the campsites allowed kids and pets to roam freely. The property has, it seems miles of manicured trails suitable for ATV or walking activities. Also available is a shooting range and a pond creating an outdoor paradise. We plan to visit again!

We loved the large, fully fenced area. It makes for a wonderful space to let kids and pets play safely. The trail network throughout the property is extensive. The pond is quite large and has a nice covered dock area to fish from or just hang out. My son and I enjoyed taking the boat out on the water and did some fishing.

We had a wonderful 2nd visit to David’s property. Land is well maintained, so many extras & beautiful slice of relaxation! David has truly thought of everything! From the gazebo area with lights, fans, water & bug zapper to the pond and range everything is meticulously cared for and prepared! The fenced in area is huge and our dogs love it, the trails are clear and beautiful and it’s so peaceful!
