300 acres of family land since 2000. This area was called Boot's Bottoms growing up and the name stuck. There is a rock wall close to the campsite that was a old grist mill site. Plenty of wildlife, bird watching, wildflowers and creek walking. Some old ATV trails for hiking as well. Very remote and quite!

Conveniently situated just off Cullman County Road 222, our campsite is within a quarter mile of two gas stations, two independently owned stores offering short-order food options, and a Dollar General. While there may be some road noise from County Road 222, especially during daytime hours, it typically tapers off in the evening and nighttime.
Enjoy stunning views of the 4th of July fireworks from Smith Lake Park, as our property provides a prime vantage point.
Lewis Smith Lake, managed by Alabama Power, spans 21,000 acres and is the deepest lake in Alabama at 264 ft. The water level varies throughout the year, usually reaching full-pool from April to July before gradually decreasing for the autumn and winter seasons. Please note the rocky shore near the sun deck, which is why jumping or diving from the sun deck is prohibited.
The nearby City of Cullman, located approximately 10 miles away, offers abundant shopping, dining, and entertainment options. Additionally, the city hosts numerous festivals throughout the year, including the Strawberry Festival in April, Octoberfest in October, and Christkindlmarkt in November & December.

The Dry Bones Live (Ezekiel 37).
The first visit in 2019 to this 21 acres was both a shock and a confirmation. It had everything on our check list and more - nearly flat land, convenient location, but also twice the acreage, a roadbed, diversity, Monarch butterflies everywhere, access to a big lake.....and it was littered with logs!! They were in piles and scattered everywhere.
But this particular land was being placed in my hands to steward and to reveal the creativity and loving nature of Yahweh. And that meant not bulldozing or burning the logs. Instead, the task was to breathe life into the logs and the land through gentle stewardship to protect the biodiversity and build good soil. Breath of Life Farm is being regeneratively developed to cultivate elderberries, vineyards, peaches, mushrooms, and small plantations of trees for wood or nuts.
My sister, Pam, and I hope that visitors will come to enjoy the seasonal changes of flower colors, watch for foot and hoof prints of wildlife, enjoy the songs of the birds and the frogs, see how many different native mushroom species they can spot, and be marveled by the stars as they sparkle in the dark night sky.
Our wish is that through the years, folks return to see the changes and positive impact of regenerative farming practices. To be a witness to the life breathed into this land. We hope you will be inspired, uplifted, strengthened, and energized by the story of Breath of Life Farm.

What an unexpected and wonderful experience. Not that I didn’t think the site was nice, from the reviews, but my husband and I had a lovely time! We had all the wood we could want for a fire. We sat by the lake in the Adirondack chairs and read and sipped cocktails. We were close to Cullman which had plenty of activities and dining options. Granted, the weather was perfect and we love lazy days at the campsite. The site is right next to a road and I was worried about that at first, but I didn’t really notice too much. There were dogs across the lake who barked some, but not continuously (and I am super sensitive about annoying noises). The port a potty was clean and did not smell bad. My favorite part was the outdoor shower. Such a pleasure. All in all a fabulous spot.

This is an excellent, level, mulched campsite with electricity and water. Although there is no shade or bathhouse, the peaceful, serene surroundings contribute to one's satisfaction and equanimity. One has access to an excellent, outstanding fire ring complex with a protective gravel perimeter and a pic-nic table, all shaded. One has the company of chickens. One has easy access in and out of the property. One hears no highway noise as the interstate is about 10 miles away. Losing access to this opportunity means losing out on a treasure. 3 nights at Parksland Retreat
Outstanding! Dustin has built such a lovely place here at Parksland. The cabin was exactly as advertised, if not better. We had everything we needed. We would definitely stay again and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We hiked the trails, enjoyed the Friday night meal, toasted in the sauna on Saturday night, and stayed up chatting with several other folks in the lounge area by a roasting fire while it drizzled on the metal roof. Most visitors during our stay participated in the clothing optional invitation (in case you were curious). We met some people who had visited before, but the majority who were there during our time were newcomers like us. If you have the opportunity to visit - go! You won’t regret it. It’s serene and warm and inviting in every wonderful way possible.

Beautiful, peaceful property with well-spaced sites. The owner was very welcoming and made a great first impression.
We booked P3 but stayed at P2 with our group, and it ended up being an excellent site—great water access, enough space for two 6-person tents, and falling asleep to the sound of the creek was a highlight.
There are no videos of the hike down or back up the hill—trust me, you’ll need all your strength (especially if you’re not already a hiker 😂). Pack light—then pack lighter. These are definitely backpack-style sites. We used a shower bag because going back up the hill at night wasn’t happening.
Plenty of trails on the property, and you’re also close to Majestic Caverns if you want to explore nearby. We’d absolutely stay here again.

Loved our private tent site! Amazingly hot showers and best campground bathrooms! We had planned to take a hike at Cheaha (very close), but ended up taking a rest day, and our whole family and 2 dogs had a blast! Part of our campsite had a small grade that made it a challenge for our youngest new walker, but I would still rank this 10/10 for a campground! We'll definitely return in the future!
