This site is completely primitive for a true outdoor, country feel — real laid-back vibes. No fighting or weapons allowed!
This place is too gorgeous not to share. You’ll feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere — a “hidden gem” — yet it’s only a few miles from a store. No hunting or harming animals is allowed, but fishing is fine. This spot is for the true outdoorsman or outdoorswoman looking for a break from the news and the internet. The property is spacious and former home site on beautiful Lake Tuscaloosa. There are full hookups (50 and 30 amp), sewer and water, and Wifi. There is lakefront access via your own personal boat dock, fire pits, and various seating areas. We recently added an outdoor building with washer and dryer, bathroom/changing room, outdoor shower AND a hot tub that overlooks the lake. There is a public boat launch just down the road along with lakefront restaurants and boat rental establishments nearby. There are multiple convenient stores, grocery stores, a Dollar General and even a hardware store just down the road.
At this time, we are allowing guests to camp in our RV on-site (what we call "transient occupancy").

This was my first hipcamping experience and turkey hill made it a good one. The area was clean and well kept, and the host was patient with me when i had confusion about the booking process. There is a nature trail that overlooks the interstate and offers a decent view. Overall good experience.

Very peaceful- the area is large, beautiful and relaxing. Horses grazing in the pasture, gorgeous sunrise & a friendly host made our night out camping fun. Clean restrooms available and a funny pair of donkeys by the barn. We walked the trail area with our dogs and enjoyed every moment.

We had a wonderful time at Chris’ land. It was just remote enough for us. There was a little creek nearby, enough wood, and wonderful valleys to play in. There’s a trail to a bamboo stand. The kids loved playing around there. Definitely bring a car that can traverse backwoods. We spent Saturday at Cane Creek about thirty minutes away hiking and playing in the waterfalls. Chris was super nice and helpful.

Beautiful property that is a short drive from good hiking spots and Tupelo. Kitchenette area is a separate sun room, with comfortable seating, and is a nice bonus. There was no hot water when we were there and one of the neighbors was very loud (very loud TV or sound system - but not much the hosts can do about that).

I absolutely loved our stay at Sarana. The hosts were so kind and generous, and they even let us stay in their RV when there was a thunderstorm one night. They have lots of equipment available, including a heater, fridge, fan, propane grill, and extension cables for use, as well as a fire pit. They have an extensive network of trails on the property, as well as lake access for swimming or hanging out. Sipsey wilderness and Bankhead National Forest are about 30-45 minutes away, so we had easy access to hiking and recreation activities when we weren't hanging out on the property. We loved our stay, and plan on coming back. If you are in the area and interested in meeting some of the loveliest hosts, you should definitely camp at Sarana!

I don't usually select RV parks on Hipcamp but there were few options in the area and this one looked pretty good and I needed electric hookup due to the cold weather. This turned out to be a good spot. There was only one other camper there so I was very quiet. Clubhouse and bathrooms are a nice plus. The bathrooms were heated and spotless.
