Choccolocco Creek Campground

8 sites · RVs, Tents35 acres · Eastaboga, AL
Convenient stop for the night or a few days for RV’s or Tent campers and a good place to get a hot shower - only a easy mile a half from I-20 exit 173 ( Eastaboga - Talladega Superspeedway Exit ) also a good base camp to see Cheaha State Park - bike at Coldwater Mountain- see the Talladega Superspeedway , Combat Park Flea Market , Oxford ballgames or other area Activities - I reserve one RV site and two tent sites for hipcamp and rent the other five RV sites at the top of hill on a monthly basis - these hipcamp sites are wooded, shady with woods between the other sites to give some privacy while still not far from the unique showers made from the old chicken house feed bins -these showers are very functional and I have been complimented that they are the best showers on the east coast

CAMP 222 (A Private Campground)

1 site · RV, Tent1 acre · Cullman, AL
Welcome to CAMP 222, a private campground nestled on approximately 1 acre of land adjacent to Lewis Smith Lake in Cullman, AL. Experience the tranquility of lake life as you enjoy boating adventures accessed via our private boat ramp. Relax and bask in the sun on our floating sun deck, or unwind in the shade with a nap in one of our hammocks. As night falls, gather around our fire pit to share stories without the distractions of nearby campers. Our campground offers camper hook-ups for water and electricity, although sewer facilities are not available. Guests must either have a camper with a restroom or bring their own camp toilets. Conveniently situated just off Cullman County Road 222, our campsite is within a quarter mile of two gas stations, two independently owned stores offering short-order food options, and a Dollar General. While there may be some road noise from County Road 222, especially during daytime hours, it typically tapers off in the evening and nighttime. Enjoy stunning views of the 4th of July fireworks from Smith Lake Park, as our property provides a prime vantage point. Lewis Smith Lake, managed by Alabama Power, spans 21,000 acres and is the deepest lake in Alabama at 264 ft. The water level varies throughout the year, usually reaching full-pool from April to July before gradually decreasing for the autumn and winter seasons. Please note the rocky shore near the sun deck, which is why jumping or diving from the sun deck is prohibited. The nearby City of Cullman, located approximately 10 miles away, offers abundant shopping, dining, and entertainment options. Additionally, the city hosts numerous festivals throughout the year, including the Rock The South Music Festival.

Rustic Cabins at East West Farm

2 sites · Lodging20 acres · Jacksonville, AL
Sadly, due to family circumstances, we are not accepting bookings at this time. We hope to again in the near future. The land at East West Farm has been a working farm since the mid 19th century. When we bought it, the farming had ceased about 20 years before and so we re-established a small diverse family farm that was once common all over the country. Learn more about this land: Nestled in a valley of Alabama's own Appalachians, we have much to offer here on the farm and nearby. Bring your fishing gear, hiking boots, and backpack! Our two acre lake is full of fish you can spend the day fishing for (bass, bream, & crappie), rent our kayak and fish from it. Explore our pastures, enjoy the views of surrounding hilltops, hang a hammock by the creek and let the babbling waters sing you to sleep or try your hand at stacking and balancing creekstones! You can also get a taste of farm life as well. Gather eggs laid by our chickens, taste our creamy Jersey milk, enjoy a breakfast of sausage from our own pigs.Want even more adventure? We are just a few miles from the Chief Ladiga Bike Path that joins the Silver Comet Trail in Georgia. Take a day hike or go on a longer backpacking trip on the Pinhoti Trail. We will gladly help you locate local trail heads and if you want to go on an overnight trip, we can provide a shuttle service as well. We are also near Terrapin Creek which offers a pleasant day of paddling on your kayak or rent from one of the local outfitters. Check out Noccalula Falls 20 minutes away in Gadsden, stroll downtown, and if you love microbrews you can't pass up a visit to Back Forty Brewing. The tallest peak in the state is Cheaha Mountain, about an hour away and offers hore hiking, waterfalls, and swimming holes. If you love nature and the outdoors, this is the place to be. We are ruled by nature and the seasons. Please don't expect too much in winter and early spring. We respectfully harvest our own chickens and pigs for meat, so please be aware that there is a possibility that we could be engaged in such an activity.  We'll still do our best to make your visit an awesome one.
