We also host events, so far they are few and small but so much fun!! There is currently one communal bathroom with several more due to be built in the next year or so. The antique Hoosier cabinet holds cooking utensils and silverware and located above the kitchen counter you will find plates, bowls, cups and glasses for your use. The water is well water, pure and delicious without chemicals. The cabin is equipped with a full size pool table for our guests enjoyment. The master bedroom offers a comfortable sleigh bed, full bathroom with shower and just outside the bedroom is a comfortable patio to enjoy, complete with table and chairs for two and outdoor fire place. Also available is a twin bed tucked in the corner of the area between the main room and bedroom. For guests wishing to continue their exercise routine, a modern treadmill is available as well. Walk the spacious well landscaped yard with multiple seating venues including a large hammock. For a quiet night of movie enjoyment, bring your favorite movies and make use of the DVD/VCR machine and wide screen television. Native peoples traveled and camped across its ridgelines, long before names were given or boundaries drawn. And yet, despite the time that has passed, the mountain remains unpolished—intact. The water is well water, pure and delicious without chemicals. The cabin is equipped with a full size pool table for our guests enjoyment. The master bedroom offers a comfortable sleigh bed, full bathroom with shower and just outside the bedroom is a comfortable patio to enjoy, complete with table and chairs for two and outdoor fire place. Also available is a twin bed tucked in the corner of the area between the main room and bedroom. For guests wishing to continue their exercise routine, a modern treadmill is available as well. Bates Farm is a 10/10 experience for camping. The grounds are gorgeous and Mary and Wayne were lovely. Hands down, best camping shower I’ve ever had. We enjoyed the flower trail, fire pit and watching the stars at night. Highly recommend this place!

We had a great experience camping on Lora's land. She welcomed us in with her husband and showed us around the property. I paid for some of her home made bug spray which worked extremely well and is all natural. The property was private, quiet, and clean. They had a bathroom and water, an outdoor kitchen, fresh eggs, fresh goat milk, well behaved animals, beautiful award winning goats. She made us a cup of coffee in the morning, provided firewood, amazing spring water. The tent was clean and warm, she provided us with blankets and basic essentials. Beautiful outdoor shower. She allowed me to take some photos on her property. Great time.

We loved the glamping cabin and the views. It matches the description well. Great place to stargaze too we spotted some meteors as well! But it was super chilly and there was just one heater so that was little hard to sleep we assumed there would be more. But in summer I think it would have been the best. We didn't get to interact with hosts a lot but they were super responsive. Would definitely recommend but come geared up.

We went for a night out. Call us crazy cause we didn't drive but about 15 minutes. We went glamping for the first time. If you haven't I do recommend it. We had a nice tent with the softest queen size bed ever built on a platform. Nice portable potty in a small tent right outside. A fire ring that they provided the wood for. A double hammock and a dinning outside table. If that wasn't enough a short walk on a path would take you to the outside kitchen with anything you could need. Also provide indoor plumbing with a huge shower. The host was amazing. Spend our morning on their front porch just talking. The kids can see chickens and goats. They have 2 doggies and the most interesting bird that talks and sings. They also offer kayaking where they drop you off and pick you up. We will definitely be going back even being so close to home. It's just the getaway on the edge of Lewis and Lawrence county that gives you the feeling of being in a mountain setting.. I wish I would had taken more pictures of the amazing farm but I did not. I will next time for sure. We booked through hip camp. Definitely recommend for a night out. Also they do have some solar power inside the tent. Last night it stormed and was cold out. But inside was dry and super warm.

My friends and I had so much fun camping on Faye's land. We were a group of 6 people and 4 dogs and booked 2 sites. We were fortunate enough to be the only campers that weekend. The sites are unmarked and there wasnt a clear separation of the sites (e.g. treeline) so we were a bit confused where each of our sites were. But seeing as we were the only campers, we set up camp on what we all presumed was one of our sites. I imagine if there were other campers with us that it wouldn't be as private since the sites are pretty much open. There are trees spread out sporadically but not enough to cover your view to another site. Faye was kind enough to leave us firewood and there were enough fallen limbs and logs on the ground to forage for more when we needed. Now onto the BEST part: the creek. The creek was STUNNING and the stream was super lively. All of us (and our dogs) LOVED wading and swimming in the creek. The water was so clear and refreshing to the touch. AND we spotted an otter swimming in it!!! Such an awesome and unforgettable experience! I would book with Faye again for another camping trip with a large group, especially if we are the only ones there :).

Faye’s property was a great time! It was perfectly private and relaxing. The creek was probably our favorite part of the site. I would recommend going if you have a large group, as the sites are close enough to all camp together. The bathroom was clean and only a few minutes short of a walk to it from the campsite. (To find the bathroom, just walk down the trail until you see the playground, turn into it and it will be the door on left side of the white building)

Loved our experience! The property is beautiful, the sites are well maintained, and the host is so kind. Sadly the weather kept us from staying overnight, but we had a beautiful day and will definitely be back again! It was my first time “camping” (in quotes because we didn’t spend the night!!) in a while but I grew up camping and want to get back into it. Jenny was so welcoming and responsive on Hipcamp and also on site. She brought over wood for our bonfire, checked in to make sure we were all set up, had everything we needed, and were aware of the weather for the night. We were on site 4, The perfect hammock site, and got both of our hammocks set up with no problem and had 2 options for our tent placement! Looking forward to going back :)

The ride to our camp site was amazingly beautiful down a trail. Once we got to our campsite it was beautiful open grassy area woodsy trails open nature pluse stargazing. Each campsite sets far back from each other for more privacy. This is true nature camping experience we loved it. Our host was very helpful and we will certainly come back. It's going to be gorgeous when the leaves start changing.

Great country location. Easy set-up. Hosts have thought of nearly everything to make your stay a little more enjoyable. The bathhouse was clean and comfortable, the site included a nice picnic area and fire pit, and there were even 'surprise' amenities like a free laundry area. Loved walking our dog around the grounds. Very beautifully laid out. It's obvious they've put a lot of thought into this space.
