My wife and I had fun staying at Kathleen's camp. We did meet and petted the animals the following day around 10 am. You can also buy chicken and quail eggs from the owners. The night sky was full of stars but it did get very cold, so prepare accordingly. We also learned about burro/donkey racing!
I HIGHLY recommend getting there before the sunset as there is no obvious sign where to turn into the driveway. Memorize or download the photo of the front gate. There is no cellphone reception. It was a good place to stay for us for 1 night. The electricity at the campsite was not working but they are planning to fix it soon.
Any car can make it into the driveway, no need for 4x4 or high clearance.

Directions were very clear, and it was nice to say hi to all the animals in the morning. It’s definitely got a lot of traffic noise but it came in waves, so there were periods of total quiet, and at night it died down considerably. A beautiful private spot to camp for the night.

Ms. Kathleen has a nice place, and was a hospitable and accommodating host. We especially loved the "Guest Services Welcoming Committee"!! (Lamas) They came right up to greet us upon arrival and were kind of like, "Hey. Sup?" LOL!!!
Ms. Kathleen has done a lot to make the site(s) functional and accommodating for guests.
We would stay here again if in the area.

We loved camping here! The directions were very clear. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the llamas. The animals were a huge treat. The camp site itself was stunning. Highly recommend!

It was a unique experience for sure! The animals are very friendly, the land is great, and the scenery is amazing! Pretty close to Glenwood Springs, too, so it made for an ideal spot.

We absolutely loved camping on the ranch. There are some rock formations that the owner allowed us to explore. The camp is gated which makes for a really safe experience.
My friends and I loved the llamas roaming free. When we were climbing up the formation the llamas watched us! There's a barn cat and chickens that roam as well. There are donkeys and pigs that you can ask the host to show you, and you're even allowed to pet the donkeys!
Overall we had a great time camping here. I would recommend camping here.

Great place to stay! We had beautiful views and even got to play with the animals. We loved the three llamas that walk around the property. We will be back.

We had a great time staying at this site! We stayed here while adventuring not too far in Glenwood Springs and were happy to come back to our own quiet, private space. It was the perfect little spot with super cute friendly animals around. The stars out here are amazing!

This kind of spot is exactly why we keep looking to Hipcamp. The animals are supercool, and the host is very accommodating and friendly. I would consider it a stopover instead of a destination, but it’s a great one.

We had a great time camping at Nest Acres! The farm is in a great location, close to rifle off of the 70. The farm is very spacious and we had tons of room to set up our sight and enjoy our time there. The animals are so lovely to be around, and the llamas that roam the property help us feel protected at night, and are fun to see around during the day. Alexis and Kathleen are super great to talk to, and gave us some pointers on some things to do around there. It was a lovely place to spend some time, we spent 2 nights and stayed there the entire time, resting after traveling the week prior. It was perfect for unwinding and we'd recommend anyone wishing to stay here, to stay a couple nights to really make the most of what it has to offer.
We stayed in the RV spot with our roof tent, and the setup was great. The portapotty was super clean and the nicest I've ever seen. We Could setup our solar easily with the bright afternoon sun. The spot is near the highway but the noise is not too loud and caused us no issues sleeping at all. We would certainly stay again. Amazing spot and we had such a great time!!

My mother and I stayed for 2 nights and Kathleen was so helpful, the farm was peaceful, the animals adorable and it was a short drive to visit Rifle Gap park. I highly highly recommend people stay here if they're in the area!

We really enjoyed RV camping at Nest Acres. The host was welcoming and friendly and gave us a nice tour of the farm. Our kids especially loved camping among the llamas and chickens, and getting to pet the pigs, donkeys, and goats. The site was well equipped with a picnic table and patio table, porta-potty with lit walkway, space to run around, and the hosts even brought out some yard games. Check out the night sky… a million stars! We would recommend staying here, and will definitely be back.

Nest Acres was a very peaceful place to stay, and the animals (the llamas especially) were adorable! We’re traveling across the country and needed a safe place to sleep for the night in our camper van with our pups. It’s ~10 minutes off the highway - close enough to get back to it bright and early in the morning, but not so close that we had to listen to traffic. We’d love to come back to tour the property and to go hiking and mountain biking. It looks like there are amazing trails nearby. Kathleen was very kind and responsive.

We parked our campervan at Nest Acres for a night and what a magical little spot tucked into the mountainside! Our boys loved getting a little farm tour—George the pig is super sweet and the curious lamas were so fun to watch as they watched us. Our leashed dog was right at home. The spot was easy to find and had level ground for parking our van.

Thankful for gracious hosts and kind, furry company without being intrusive. We were on a cross country road trip, so it’s hard to determine when you’ll be where. Booked this same day as our arrival. Kathleen was quick to respond to say we could arrive later - in the dark - than originally planned due to time changes we hadn’t accounted for.
I grew up on a farm and my boys are accustomed to primitive camping, but this was an upgrade with a very clean Portajohn. We felt safe and right at home knowing the animals were watching over us during the night and greeted us in the morning! Not too shy and not too nosy (or noisy) either. Beautiful night sky to fall asleep under and a beautiful farm country mountain scene (and cockadoodledo) to wake up to.
Actually, this was my favorite stay during our 27 day road trip across the US with my 2 teens. While the boys slept, I went around petting the animals and talking with Alexis as she cared for them and shared her homesteading experiences.
Because of Kathleen’s and Alexis’ hospitality and sharing their Hipcamp experiences, my hubby and I are now considering opening up our “Wild Haven Sanctuary” in the Blue Ridge Mtns to Hipcampers in the future, too!

Wonderful camp site, the hosts were incredibly helpful and very responsive answering my questions. The Wi-Fi was helpful as well and enjoyed the animals they had on premises. Definitely recommend!

Our visit to nest acres was absolutely wonderful wish we could’ve had more time to sit and visit with the animals. We were greeted by donkeys and chickens and pigs upon our arrival! It was our very first night traveling in a camper van. They were very accommodating to make sure that we had everything that we needed! We will definitely stay there again!

The 2 women who have created The Nest have shown great care in the bell tent accommodations, with a very comfortable bed, and clean interior, but unfortunately the tents are very permeable to sound and the property is on a major highway that semi-trucks travel on, and the deafening noise of them passing throughout the night made for an unrestful sleep. It would also be nice if a washing station was set up outside of the porta-potty.

Nest Acres is such a lovely spot, filled with friendly and adorable animals amidst a stunning landscape. Best of all, the bed is as comfy as it gets—I got a much needed 12 hours of blissful sleep nestled among the trees and shrubs. I want a pet goat now after meeting pinto bean! Thank you Kathleen.
