Get Lost or Find Yourself. Sway Camping is a private, Off Grid camping experience in Rock Island TN. Situated between Isha Yoga center, Fall Creek Falls, and Rock Island state park, this property is something special. Each campsite offers a private space perfect for getting away, or large enough for family and groups. Pet Friendly property with lots of room to be a part of nature along the beautiful Rocky River. Camp along the river or up in your own private forest. One of the darkest skies around so be ready for some stargazing at night by the fire. This is a property I purchased in 2018 to create a camping experience that reflected the image of camping as a kid. This isn’t a "hotel without walls" like state parks and KOA's/ This is real camping. No neighbors. No electric wires. Just nature and beauty in a quiet environment. Clothing optional sites available and great space for small events and large groups. Get lost or find yourself relaxing along the Rocky River. Stay in a hammock, a tent, camper, RV, or one of our cabins. Privacy and freedom is what we are about. Pet friendly camping that should be shared, but please don't tell everyone you know. Only your favorite people.. Then come camp!

Perfect location for tent camping and Hammock Camping.  Each site could accommodate 2 tents and several hammocks.  Plenty of parking available. Surrounded by mature hardwoods, natural rock outcrops and native landscapes.  Situated directly on the river and a perfect spot to GET AWAY. Off grid primitive camping along the river. About a 50 yard walk downhill from the parking spot to the location. 2 open areas perfect for individuals or groups. Pet friendly, private camping away from the rest of the campground. There is a compost toilet available up the hill from this spot.

Star Field camping allows any type of camping from tent to RV.   15 acres of open fields with amazing unobstructed night skies.  A short walk to the Rocky River and cool shade throughout the day.  These sites are perfect for those who enjoy the beauty of the sky at night.  It can get warm during the day, but its always cool down by the river. There are fire pit in the starfield area available for groups to meet up for a nighttime bonfire and smores in the field. If you arriving late in the evening the starfield is easiest to navigate to.  Although it isn't the most private camping on the property, it is a very good option for quick overnights.

Sway Camping is private, Off Grid camping located throughout the property. Each location has private space, a rock firepit and also Pet Friendly. A short walk to the river and always a great spot for stargazing.  These camp sites allow several tents, a small camper and some offer hammock camping.  All Sway Camping sites are located in or next to a treed area or forest and very private. A short walk to the calming Rocky River and pet friendly.

The largest and most private campsite at Hammock Sway Bring your tent, your Hammock, or your camper.  Heck, sleep in your Honda. Most of all bring your friends.  Camp in your own private mature Pine Forest.  Camp as a single filled with space and privacy or a group of friends or family.   Plenty of room for more campers!  Unlimited spots for Hammock camping and several tent spots located in this group forest.  Just make a reservation and come to Hammock'Sway to let the world outside melt away.  This is a group and pet friendly site, perfect for making memories. Covid-19 friendly and social distance is simple and kinda built into the experience.  Hammock'Sway is perfect for social distant getaways.   This is primitive off-grid camping. It's very private and very beautiful. We're pet friendly and we welcome all!  There is room for one or two cars at the site and several spots available close by. There is local wood for sale and lots of wood around for those that like to gather.  Add some of the best Sweggs from absolutely free range happy chickens that rule my Cabin and protected by Elliott.  Some have called them the best eggs ever.

Enjoy an upgraded off grid experience in a private location, nestles next to some massive oak trees looking out into the starfield. Soul Play is an off grid accommodation. It is an older RV with just a minimum feature set. Features a queen size bed, a twin loft bed and a comfy place to relax or eat. Charcoal grill and screen room included, as well as a private fire pit and plenty of room to spread out and relax Night time brings a star show that is second to none.

Our stay was incredible! Chris was so nice and very helpful. He went above and beyond to show us around and make sure we knew where everything was and had everything we needed. We enjoyed ourselves. We definitely plan on returning. The property was beautiful and clean. This place is the best!

First off big thank you to Chris the host. Chris was waiting for me to personally show me where the site was. The site was beautiful and so peaceful with nothing but perfect. It was very secluded and truly felt like no one was around. I was looking fir privacy and this site was it. Short little walk to the river that even has a swing for your enjoyment. Chris made sure my stay was perfect. Highly recommend.

Chris was great. The river was lovely. However the campsite was far from parking and very strenuous to get to —down a very steep hill. We were slipping and holding onto trees on the way down. Wouldn’t recommend trying to bring a packed ice chest or too much gear. —No shade on Chris or the place, I just wouldn’t camp the river spot again.

Chris’s place was so much fun! The creek provided endless entertainment for the kids, and tranquil vibes for us all. The pine forest behind the camp was also the perfect place for our hammocks and many games of hide and seek. There was a fire ring at the campsite and plenty of soft grassy spots for our tents. We also had some of the fresh eggs in the morning that were delicious. We can’t wait to come back.

Off grid River camping.

The land was beautiful. We did not want to leave. Our family of 6 had two tents at the river camping spot. We also set up hammocks for relaxing during the day. You do have to carry in your gear while going down hill, but it’s doable if you don’t mind hiking or camping. This is truly off grid. If you’re considering this spot, have the proper expectations and come prepared.

Chis’s campsite was absolutely incredible! The land felt so open and free, with wide spaces that made it easy to just relax and take it all in. There’s something about being surrounded by nature and trees here that gives you a real sense of adventure and excitement. The river was the highlight for me—it was beautiful, peaceful, and added such a special touch to the whole experience. Sitting by the water and listening to it flow was the perfect way to start and end the day. If you’re looking for a place that feels both wild and refreshing, this spot is exactly that. The land, the freedom, and the beauty of the river make it a campsite I’ll never forget

Loved our stay at Chris's land! He met us upon arrival and chose our site based off our needs and it was perfect. The river is lovely with a nice swing and we even heard whippoorwills. Slept like babies under the stars! This was very easy to find and a great choice for camping when visiting this area with so many parks and waterfalls.

I had a wonderful time camping at Hammock’Sway - the land is wide and there are so many different spots to enjoy nature, like a pine forest and a river and fields and a few other spots. The people were very friendly and inviting and I would go back just to say hi!

If you're seeking off grid camping and do not require any frills then this might be the spot for you. Chris was very responsive with the booking and provided supportive directions. If bathing in the river, 100 foot whispering pines, and camp fires by night rocks your world, then you might want to book a weekend. If you want to see the stars of the cosmos brilliantly without light pollution then your in for a treat. You better pack your mosquito spray though, those critters are vicious in the open fields. I never broke out the can at my campsite, it just was not required. Happy Camping!

Peaceful Weekend in the Pine Forest

I had a very peaceful weekend at Hammock S'way. The private forest was very pretty and it was great having such a large space to myself. The creek was a very quick walk from my site and it was perfect to sit or wade around in on a hot day. Bonuses: the swing over the river and Chris' farm fresh eggs.
