Beautiful 8 acre property situated on the edge of the Craigbourne Dam, 2 minutes from the township of Colebrook and 50 minutes from the Hobart CBD. Our property offers are great getaway experience for any traveller. The Craigbourne Dam is a all year round recreational fishing ground and stocks many species of fish i.e. Atlantic Salmon, Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout to name a few. Our property is a pet friendly park but we do ask all patrons to be considerate of the surrounding farmland and live stock . As we are a fully self contained campground we do not provide power, toilets or showers. You'll need to have your own amenities and discard of any rubbish . Limit phone coverage but still enough to call/text Contained campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place. Firewood for sale for a small fee (see Extras). IMPORTANT : Any guest that wish to fish the Craigbourne Dam will be asked to purchase a angling license for the duration of their stay . Thanks

The Old Barn Paddock
We received a warm and welcoming greeting from Callum. I loved the Old Barn in the Paddock. If you are after a rural vibe, this property definitely hits the spot, with stunning views in every direction. The dam is a bit on the low side, but that can't be helped. It is also a little "weedy" from the edge of the dam, so a long line for fishing from the edge is needed, or a boat, or in my instance, a kayak. A successful catch of red fin perch. (Yes, I had a licence). The grounds surrounding the Barn are undulating, but campers or vans with chocks wouldn't have a problem. Down closer to the dam on the lower ground, it is flatter, but harder, but be sure not to go to close to the soft edges. The only setback in my opinion is lack of shelter from the weather, in our case, wind. It is very open, so tents, be prepared.

We had a peaceful and relaxed night at Craigbourne Estate and woke to a beautiful view of the sunrise over the dam. Powered site 1 was spacious, neat and tidy, and easy to find.

Lovely people and the dog Millie is very friendly. It would be a great spot for campervans but we pitched a tent and the wind was terrible as it is very open but has good views etc. A caravan or campervan would be the way to go.

We had such a beautiful stay here. The campsite overlooks a stunning dam, and waking up to the sight of swans gliding across the water was something really special. It was incredibly peaceful — the kind of place where you can properly switch off and just enjoy the quiet. Sunset was absolutely magical. We’ll definitely be back!

This camp was perfect. It hit every quintessential camping vibe we wanted for the weekend. Level areas, fires, water views and quiet. Easy to find, absolutely lovely hosts and a very friendly dog. Our kids cried when the weekend was over.

The dam although low was beautiful with lots of birdlife. Very open campsite with fire pits and wood available to buy. two sites available with slab power and water. host very friendly and helpful. occasionally wins are very powerful.

What a beautiful place to stay, wish it had been more than one night, but keen to return. To wake up to ducks, geese, swans and Cape Barron geese all landing on the water was spectacular!! Getting to meet the puppies was wonderful as well :)

Callum is a fabulous host and is very welcoming and very happy to assist in any way. The dam unfortunately was low (70%) however we still enjoyed camping there and catching up Millie their Border Collie.

Hi, I went on mid feb to celebrate my anniversary, but we left late but the Callum was concerned about us whether we are coming or not, but he was good guy , we can’t able to make tent as it was windy so we decided to sleep in our car, It was good place, we saw that Callum is giving his efforts for further upgrade we wish him a best wishes, hope to visit that place again in greenery seasons. I request Callum to make toilet.

The Old Barn Paddock
The old barn Paddock is a great place to sit ,relax and watch the world go by oh and the swans and the geese . Nestled on the edge of Craigburne Dam there is plenty of room so you can bring friends or go it alone. We spent three nights there and highly recommend it. The hosts are great and may even come down and have a chat and maybe a beer or wine.

Easy to find. Easy to access. We were greeted and instructed by the host who was helpful and available to answer any questions we had via text. Free wifi worked well. It was beautiful to wake up and look out over the stunning natural lake. We would love to stay here again if we tour Tasmania again in a motor home :)

We enjoyed a few peaceful days at Craigbourne Estate. It was easy to find and plenty of space in the open paddock so we could choose our spot and enjoy the views. With clear nights it was a great spot to enjoy the night sky. The firepits were handy. Unfortunately the wind during our stay did not let up - being in a valley it ripped straight through and there is no protection, so we didn't get a chance to enjoy a paddleboard on the dam.

We had a lovely 5 night stay. It was great to have a large area to camp in, giving good privacy. We enjoyed the dam and hilly outlook. Our dog loved his daily dam swim. The central location was great as a base to explore the local area.

Very friendly hosts and great location. Let me camp right down on the waterfront and I got a delivery of firewood from the kids on the ride on mower! Very friendly dog kept me company for a few hours Great spot will be back! 🙏

Beautiful rolling hills and water views. Tilly was super friendly with her byo stick. Open paddock but the owners are planning some amazing upgrades. Our next Tassie trip is looking good.

Easy to locate, large paddock area, gentle slope, could use a bit of ash levelling. Two new concrete powered sites, needs signage to determine rules about it as it’s unclear who can use what until a woman came to tell us. Could use more privacy between house and camping area. Residents’ kids ride around on noisy dirt bikes for a few hours when we were there on a Saturday night - how’s the serenity. Could use a toilet and the shed that’s there with firepits is a great start and needs more work to elevate it for event hire or use. Can see where it could go. Nice impromptu stop in though. Handy in that area. Australian glad flying at the house next door that owns it.
