Beautiful 8 acre property situated on the edge of the Craigbourne Dam, 2 minutes from the township of Colebrook and 50 minutes from the Hobart CBD. Our property offers are great getaway experience for any traveller. The Craigbourne Dam is a all year round recreational fishing ground and stocks many species of fish i.e. Atlantic Salmon, Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout to name a few. Our property is a pet friendly park but we do ask all patrons to be considerate of the surrounding farmland and live stock . As we are a fully self contained campground we do not provide power, toilets or showers. You'll need to have your own amenities and discard of any rubbish . Limit phone coverage but still enough to call/text Contained campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place. Firewood for sale for a small fee (see Extras). IMPORTANT : Any guest that wish to fish the Craigbourne Dam will be asked to purchase a angling license for the duration of their stay . The location was ideal just by the Craigbourne dam and the views were breathtaking. There is plenty of space and flat ground to camp or get the camper van parked. Really nice place to relax and have a fireplace going just as we did. Great hosts as well. Would definitely be back 👍🏻

Great open space on the waters edge. The dam is interesting to walk along. No tree shade but thats ok in Tassie Spring. Lots of birds to watch. The dogs had a great time too. Great to have campfires- plenty of wood. There is a public toilet about 1km away just FYI.

Great spot for a weekend away! Even though it was windy and cloudy we very much enjoyed it. Fabulous views of the hills beyond the dam, especially watching all the different birds and farm animals. Waking up to the view was amazing because we were right on the water’s edge ☺️ Milly the dog was absolutely gorgeous too.

The Old Barn Paddock
My partner and I enjoyed camping near the dam. We did so late August 2025 in a rooftop tent. We were greeted by two beautifully natured border collies. The blonde one kept us company on our stay. Directions were accurate, and owners responded to questions promptly. The scenery is beautiful and peaceful.

We arrived and set ourselves up, Natalie and the kids came and greeted us later on. The dogs welcomed us on arrival though. Nice and peaceful, pretty location. Land is almost level only requiring minimal levelling with our camper trailer. Soft ground would be quite nice for those in tents. Plenty of space. Could have thrown in my line from camp if I was fishing.

Arrived late and left early but imagine the views would be amazing here. Camped down by the dam. Were the only ones here though it was the Off Season.

Very Friendly Hosts and puppies. The property has spectacular view's, well maintained camp site's and the dam offer's a different perspective with fishing and photo options in abundance. The shallow sections alongside the camp grounds would be ideal for wading and casting flies, while the deeper edges can be productive trolling Tassie Devils, spinners,hard bodies and soft plastics (darker colours in murky water,bright on a cloudy day and natural in clearer water) is a good starting point. Craigbourne is open to fishing all year but remember to purchase a trout licence if you intend on fishing. 🎣 Bait like worm's,wattle grubs and powerbait are great options for the children or more relaxed Fisher person. Loved this spot - the view (sunrise and sunset, with the local birds) is magical. The wind was pretty cold, but warmth of a fire fixes that.

I loved this place nice and quiet. The view were top notch when we were theres! The price wasn’t too bad for 1 night in campervan. Really recommend if you’re looking for stay there. Thanks Callum & Natalie for having us. Will come back for sure! ❤️

We had a lovely night under the Autumn sky sitting around the fire pit! We were welcome to ample wood (which we added to our booking), we enjoyed the lovely company of Millie the doggo!

I loved staying at old barn paddock in our caravan , it was soo peaceful and quiet. It even had a gorgeous resident dog that spent most of her time with us and our dog.

Lovely scenic spot and nice and quiet which we love. hosts callum & natalie are very nice people. We also loved seeing the resident sea eagles hovering above. A very easy place to find and just far enough off the road to not be bothered from noisy traffic.

This place is amazing. The view and serenity was to die for. Watching the swans and ducks fly in and out across the water was mesmerising. The beautiful dog was what made our trip special. The only regret we have is not staying longer. We will definitely be back.

Fantastic spot. Very peaceful next to the dam. Was awesome watching the sea eagles, swimming in the dam and having camp fires in the evening. Callum was very friendly and great host. We will be back and highly recommend.

Amazing Spot!

We absolutely loved staying on this beautiful lakefront property! The lake was teeming with birdlife, making it a serene and calming environment. A highlight was meeting Milli the Dog—she was so adorable and got along wonderfully with our little doggies. The property is incredibly well-maintained, and the lake was the perfect place to cool off on a warm day. One thing to note is the wind direction—be mindful when parking your van as the winds can pick up, but hey, it is Tasmania after all! Callum and Natalie are amazing hosts, ensuring our stay was comfortable and memorable. Highly recommend this peaceful, nature-filled spot!

I absolutely loved the location. One of my favourite Hipcamp spots this trip. Adorable dogs. Millie jumped up into our camper and lay at my feet for half an hour happily while I played the trumpet (with a mute of course so as not to disturb the other campers).
