We purchased the property in 2003 in order to escape the city life and be closer to nature. Over the years we have developed our sustainable farm, raising grass-fed cattle, chickens, and various other animals over the years. We also breed Bernese Mountain Dogs, so you'll see some of our pack wandering the property. We work hard to maintain practices that heal the land and preserve it for the future. No chemicals, hormones, antibiotics, pesticides or herbicides are used here. We raised our four children here and have made many memories together as we learned to farm, build and enjoy our land. We continue to create and build towards a long-term vision, creating a haven for artisans with self-sufficient living in mind. Welcome to our inviting custom built cottage. It is located on our property, approximately 300' from on our home on our 55 acre land plot, located 10 minutes outside of St. Joseph, MN. We are very near St. John's University and the College of St. Benedict. Hiking trails located on our property as well as nearby County parks and St. John's University. We are 6 miles from the Wobegon Trail (76 miles long) which is great for biking, roller blading, walking and running. Come explore Creekwood Acres which is host to a great deal of wild life as well as sustainably raised animals with a process we call rejuvenative farming. Wander through the woods and listen to the birds, watch monarch butterflies, our cattle and hear the, frogs, crickets and occasionally distant coyotes. The Watab Creek runs through the property which consists of fields, forest and a pond. Our cozy cottage was built by our family using lumber sawn on our property. There are two double beds up in the loft accessible by ladder and one queen size sofa sleeper (very comfortable!) on the main level . A wood burning stove keeps the cottage cozy in cooler weather. There is a bathroom with flushing toilet and shower. Electricity keeps the cottage aglow and runs a refrigerator, microwave, sound system and fans. Also available for your convenience, an apartment size range and kitchen sink. Enjoy a fire in a private fire ring near the cottage. Firewood available for purchase (for exterior fire ring). Enjoy a wood-fired sauna upon request. The sauna has been known to get quite hot! My second time staying here and my husband and I both love it. So relaxing and peaceful. The cabin is lovely, the setting beautiful and the sauna is perfect. Todd and Sarah are excellent hosts. Can't wait to come back again!

Perfect cabin for our little girls winter get away. The wood stove kept us nice and toasty, despite the bellow 0 weather. hosts were very accommodating. Nice and private. Beautiful spot and loved watching the dogs and cows frolic around. Kitchen had everything we needed even a toaster & microwave. This space was plenty of room for the 3 of us. I would definitely stay here again! Although getting up into the loft was okay for us, if you don’t do well with patters this could be tricky for the 2 beds in the loft the the sofa pulled out into a nice bed on main level. That said the latter going up to the loft is fixed to the wall and very sturdy. The loft it’s self was very sturdy and not creeky at all. Lovely place all around.

The Perfect Weekend Getaway!

We had a wonderful weekend at Todd and Sarah's cabin who were ever so kind and helpful. They were always quick to reply and would give us a heads up before they left the property to make sure we had all we needed. We unintentionally picked one of the colder weekends for our adventure but the wood stove kept us nice and toasty, especially while sleeping in the loft. The loft had a beautiful view of the farm, and a telescope to gaze at the stars at night. We regrettably did not take advantage of the camp fire or sauna due to the brutally cold weather, but it gives us something to look forward to on our next trip! It was a very luxurious and private weekend.

Cozy family retreat!

We came back for our second stay and brought the kids (12 and 14) this time. They loved soaking in the calm, natural "vibe" as they would say. 24 hrs felt like much longer as we're leaving feeling relaxed and full of memories of board games, sauna, reading, and hiking around in the snow. Fabulous friend time

We loved everything about this place. We paid extra for the sauna and breakfast - both WELL worth it. We hiked beautiful trails, gazed at stars, played games inside and had the best time in this sweet, cozy cabin. Don’t hesitate- just book it!

Beautiful and special place!

Todd & Sarah's cottage was fantastic. The property is beautiful, and the cottage was cozy and inviting. We enjoyed the warm fire, a sauna in the evening, and farm fresh eggs in the morning. Todd & Sarah communicated well, and everything went so smoothly. We would definitely want to come back here again. Highly recommend!

Relaxing in the country

We had a great time at the cabin, walking arounf the farm with one of their dogs, doing a sauna and enjoying the cuteness of the cabin. Perfect place for a quick day out of the cities!

We absolutely loved Todd and Sarah’s property and had everything we needed for our short stay. Todd and Sarah are very accommodating and have a wonderful place here. They have put a lot of thought into the amenities provided and how everything is set up. My son really enjoyed the loft area and the animals. We can’t wait to come back and stay longer. Perfect place to get away and find some peace and quiet, yet still close to town!

The cottage is a very sweet oasis. It is thoughtfully furnished and supplied, clean and comfortable. Todd, Sarah and their dogs are very welcoming! Our group only had one night but everything was easy and seamless so that we could relax and enjoy our stay to the fullest. We highly recommend it and hope to be back again ourselves.

Mini getaway!

We loved being able to stay in the Creekwood cottage. It was so easy to pack and leave home quickly because the cottage is so well equipped! The cottage has a hand crafted woodsy feel throughout, total privacy, beautiful views from inside and outside, great connection to nature even a sauna, hot shower, and farm fresh breakfast available. We felt refreshed after just one night! Thank you for this gem!

Our time at Todd & Sarah's Creekwood Cabin was fantastic! The location was close to the city yet far enough for the feel of a true getaway. Their land is gorgeous. It was so much fun wandering the trails with their dog Frances and soaking it all in. Todd and Sarah were the perfect hosts. We had such a great time getting to know them and learn about their passion for animals and the land. They gave us space to enjoy the best Mother's Day I've ever had, complete with the most delicious homemade breakfast. The minute we stepped foot into the cabin our kids were asking when they could come back and as we left they said it felt like we had been visiting family. We all loved it! Thank you for a fantastic weekend!

Wow - what an incredible cabin, and what amazing hosts! We had such a great time visiting the farm, and this cabins is truly a treasure built with incredible craftsmanship and attention to detail. The cabin also has everything you need for a relaxing and fun stay - great selection of board games, books and kitchen cookware & appliances. Cozy Cabin

We stayed over a cold winter weekend, and the cabin was so cozy and warm with the wood stove! It is very unique and tucked in a beautiful part of the farm. We woke up to cattle outside the first morning and saw stars at night! Todd and Sarah were very friendly and gave us a tour of the land and we played with their dogs. What a treat!

Creekwood Cottage was perfect for me for a last-minute solo getaway. Lovely, cozy cottage with beautiful property to meander on. Todd and Sarah were great hosts - respectful of privacy, but very available for questions...though all info was so clearly laid out that I never really had any!
