We absolutely loved our stay in Tarlee! We spent a few peaceful days in a beautiful, secluded spot that was perfect for switching off and relaxing. The toilet facilities were close by and very well maintained. We purchased firewood during our stay, and Alison was kind enough to stop by and make sure we had enough for our second night, which was such a thoughtful touch. We'll definitely be aiming to come back and would happily recommend staying here to others!

We recently stayed at Serenity just outside of Tarlee and it was honestly one of the best campsites we've ever stayed at — and we've stayed at a few! From the moment we arrived, it was clear this place is something special. The surroundings are absolutely beautiful. There's a genuine sense of peace and quiet that's hard to find, and the setting lives up to the name perfectly. Whether you're sitting around the fire at night or waking up to the morning air, the environment just makes you want to stay longer. A huge shoutout has to go to Alison, the host. She was fantastic — warm, welcoming, and genuinely accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble, and it's clear she takes real pride in creating a great experience for her guests. That personal touch made all the difference and really set Serenity apart from your typical campsite experience. We can't recommend this place highly enough. If you're looking for a campsite that ticks every box — great location, beautiful surrounds, and a host who genuinely cares — then Serenity is it. We'll absolutely be back. Do yourself a favour and book it.

Tarlee Serenity certainly is serene, a lovely spot and Alison was a great host. The property is well maintained and the long drop was clean and well stocked. The Valley View site is spacious and a little separate from the other sites. It was quite exposed to the easterly winds we had during our stay, but a bit of wind was well and truly worth it for the view. One of the best Hipcamp sites I’ve been to.

How's the Serenity

This is a peaceful camping paddock on a quiet farm. Just a short drive from nearby Tarlee & Riverton. Only a few private sites, spaced well from each other and with good coverage of native trees. Our dogs were able to freely move about around our site within our control. Firepit at each site with generous wood allotments available for purchase. Clean drop toilet and recycling (bottles & cans) also on site. Alison & Russel are friendly and considerate hosts. We'll be back.

Camping made easy & Beautiful

Amazing Hipcamp truly lives up to the serenity name! Good sized area not close to anyone beautifully cared for and tidy. Alison dropped down a good amount of wood for a small fee and was super friendly and helpful. The ground was solid even after heaps of rain and easily accessible - would easily stay again

Multiple camp spots, spread out over the property that you don’t feel on top of one another. Clean, shared long drop toilet with plenty of toilet paper and lights. Alison let us know of a quiet trail to get out for a walk just down the road. Nice weekend getaway!

A very nice spot but the price per person is too high. Wood was very expensive ($25 for a small box) and poor quality. We stayed here a few years ago and we won’t stay again. The toilet smells terrible. The box is plywood which has picked up a lot of odours. The camping spots are nice and lots of distance between campers but it’s a lot of money for no services

Picturesque weekender

A lovely quiet spot with a great view across the valley. Even though the property is not large, we didn’t feel cramped despite a few other groups camping nearby. Russell was welcoming and dropped a good size load of firewood down to us shortly after we arrived. Convenient to Clare and only a quick one hours drive from Adelaide. Recommended as great weekend away.

Beautiful spot to camp, variety of flat spots to pick from on our site amongst trees, and nice central area for fire pit. Other campers are far enough away that your site still feels private and aren’t on top of each other. Toilet was clean, central and very spacious.

Beautiful quiet spot amongst the trees. Was a great spot to kick back and relax with a wine next to the campfire. The dogs absolutely loved it as well. Alison was lovely and welcoming and I'm hoping to come back again.

Beautiful Campground

The campsite was stunning and very clean, with excellent views of the valley. The land was mostly flat and we did not have much trouble finding a level spot for our 22ft caravan. We arrived on a Thursday and only shared the campsite with a few others. But there is plenty of space for many more, without being crowded. The toilet was clean and well lit, with toilet paper supplied. Alison was great, wanting to ensure our stay was enjoyable. She checked on us both nights to ensure we had enough firewood and we had a nice chat each time.

Very nice hosts, sites are very seperate which is fantastic. Dusty road on the way in buts only 3kms worth. Perfect hipcamp for our dogs as they can reactive but wasn't an issue here! Will be back.

It was a great little spot away, we were able to see a farmer at work in the nearby field which was cool to see. The long drop toilet is in great condition. At night we were able to see and hear multiple possums which was wicked to experience

Hosts were friendly. Although it was Easter weekend with lots of other camping groups it still was spacious with plenty of space between camps. As many other reviews mention, the droptoilet was super clean and better than ones at most parkssa camping grounds. We read about bull ants, and they were there. But if you avoid the obvious nests they are no problem.

Busy Easter weekend yet we still had a real sense of being out there alone. Our site was well away with nice views. Alison was happy for us to have a comfort fire and even helped us out with some wood which made for a better camp out. Toilet was well maintained with regular supplies of TP, Wipes and hand gel. Good couple days.

A beautiful, relaxing weekend - even with the kids! We spent 3 amazing nights here with 3 young kids. A very peaceful place, the kids could wander around safely (within reason) and were easily visible from quite a distance. The drop toilet is amazingly clean and there is plenty of paper etc. We were able to have a fire and it was so convenient having fire wood delivered to our site. We are already talking about coming again, all 3 of us mums have never felt so relaxed taking our kids camping!

Our host was lovely and welcoming and the campsite was perfect. A lovely outlook of trees and open farmland. Peaceful with only the sounds of sheep and birds for company. We’ll definitely be keeping this one on our list of stays in future.

I had a great stay and thank you to Russell and Alison for being so positive in opening up their property to motorcycle camping. I found a great spot to pitch my tent and it was nice to sit back and enjoy the afternoon, as well as the colour changes with the setting sun.

Nice rolling hills to camp on, there are few flat spots and some on a slight slope. Plenty of space. Nothing significantly pretty about the place, but still nice countryside views. Area was tidy and mowed. Good amount of firewood for $25

Great quiet and peaceful bush camp

Great spot to stay off grid with 6-7 individual sites on the property. Some sites are close enough together that you could stay with a group but still have your own space. Only one other caravan there when we stayed so we were very secluded and couldn’t see them directly from our site. Good size long drop toilet area with motion lighting for night use. Very clean. Hosts were friendly though we rarely saw them. $25 for a decent size container of firewood delivered to our site seemed pretty reasonable. It’s a natural area, so the sites have a small slope and you might need some extra caravan levellers pending your setup and site. Easy drive to Clare and Burra. Our dogs loved the property’s dam! Our favourite Hip Camp so far. 😊
