It can get really windy, as there aren't a lot of features to break the wind or shelter your tent. My tent literally caved in on me while I was asleep. Otherwise it was a great campsite and extremely close to Frenchman Coulee.

in Lassen Volcanic National Park, CaliforniaManzanita Lake can still be pretty cold at the beginning of the camping season. There is often still snow part of the way up trails in the spring/early summer. You are still able to hike just be prepared with waterproof shoes!
