Camping paradise!
Had an amazing time at Tom’s farm. We stayed at Campsite 2, which was closest to the pond. It was private and so beautiful. He was a great host and taught us about the history of the land. Highly suggest staying here!

Cozy Campsite in the Woods
We had a fantastic camp-out on Tom's land. The forest is beautiful and filled with deer. There are also geese and hens and goats that greet you as you come in. Easy to use the available wagons to wheel any big bulky items to your campsite. Our site had a great firepit set up with a picnic table and was very secluded and private. Highly recommend for a weekend getaway.

Awesome, private camp w/ great host
We absolutely loved our stay at Scenic Turtle Ridge! Our campsite (#2) was very private, wooded, and nestled next to a beautiful pond. The property backs up to Hibernia park which is so convenient, and has low-difficulty trails to hike. Tom recommended the rim loop trail which was great and runs along the Brandywine river (definitely recommend!). Speaking of Tom! He was very communicative, friendly and hospitable; and kind enough to show us around and walk us down to our campsite when we weren't able to arrive until after dark. We were able to buy fresh eggs from him which were delicious and aaalmost too pretty to eat! The bathroom was easily accessible, clean, and equipped with camp items for purchase. He also had firewood readily available for $10 a bundle which was a big help. On our way out, Tom took the time to introduce to the goats who are so cute and friendly-- it was a treat and a great way to end a great weekend! One note about the walk down to the campsites - some of the comments here made me nervous - it really isn't bad at all. It's a small hill but the carts provided make it easy enough. Just don't overpack like crazy, and you'll be fine!! I definitely recommend Turtle Ridge for a great, private camping experience. We hope to be back in the future. Thanks Tom for a fabulous stay!

Wonderful host and great camping
We camped at Turtle Ridge on a trip down to Shenandoah. Tom’s property was quiet at night and beautiful in the morning. We woke up and saw deer jumping through the morning mist and over fences to the pastures. It was a gorgeous sunrise. We didn’t get to stay very long (just an overnight) but the host made us feel so welcome!

We took a weekend to get out into some nature and Scenic Turtle Ridge provided that! My daughter enjoyed listening to the chickens, geese, and crickets at night. We stayed at site # 1 right next to a nice little pond. Tom was a great host!

Camping and Fishing ☺️
We loved tent camping on Tom’s land ☺️ He was very friendly and the land is absolutely beautiful. We celebrated my son’s 8th birthday with a camping trip, and he couldn’t stop saying “This is the best birthday EVER!!!” My 3 kids all loved going fishing in the pond and the river behind Tom’s property. The fire and s’mores in the fire pit were memorable as well. We were sad to leave, but hope to be back again!

Peaceful but lots to do
We had a great time at Scenic Turtle Ridge! Site 2 was beautiful and well kept. We really appreciated the tables and chairs at the site, and also the little koi in the livestock well. Right next to the campsite was a really nice trail along the Brandywine. We saw a lot of birds and other wildlife. Bring a little cash for firewood and other things at the camp store. Tom was really nice and even showed us the goats on our way out. Next time, we'll stay longer.

Great sites, steep hill!
We enjoyed our stay on Tom's land - a small indoor bathroom/water/firewood was available and self-serve, and the site felt private and had a nice view of the pond. The only thing we were surprised by was the hill! While we expected there to be a 100yd walk into the site, we didn't expect that it would be up/down a steep hill. There were two gorilla karts available for load in/out, but it was strenuous. #FYI

Peaceful stay in the woods
Really nice place to camp. Tom provides 4-wheel carts to bring all your gear out to your campsite which made setting up a breeze! We saw deer grazing when we first arrived and the whole setting was very peaceful. Tom also sold us some delicious fresh eggs to enjoy for breakfast. It was obvious Tom puts a lot of work into the land and cares for all his animals. Overall a lovely stay!

Weekend Getaway
Tom was a very hospitable host. We stayed at Site #3 and Tom directed us to where we needed to go. I was a huge fan of that site since it was nicely setback in the trees and I truly felt like we had privacy. I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed the Hipcamp experience. I hope I continue to have experiences like I did on Tom’s land.

Great place to stay
Three of us stayed at site #2 on a motorcycle trip. All three of us were sleeping in hammocks and had ample space and trees to set things up. Site #2 specifically was secluded and very spacious with more than enough room for us. From where you park to the site is a bit of a walk down a hill but carts are provided to make it easy. The site was well maintained and Tom came by to visit and make sure everything was okay. He even picked up some downed branches and brought them for us to use in the firepit.

I booked site 1 for a night. This site is peaceful and you can see the pond right in front. Tom is very friendly and he introduced the facility very well. This site is inside the ridge farm and there are so many cute animals! Thank you Tom for hosting!

Tranquil Getaway
What an amazing space and we really enjoyed talking to Tom. It’s a nice big property with lots of private spaces, but also pretty easy access to the sites from the driveway to unload (and to the bathroom and fridge and little shop). Site 1 was gorgeous and so calm. Huge stone fireplace overlooking the pond and woods. We loved the goats and other animals. Careful on the driveway if your car is low, there are big bumps where I scraped the bottom of my car. I went here with my 6yo son and he had a blast. We definitely want to come back soon! Thank you for a nice stay.

Came here for a winter bike-camping overnighter and loved it! I stayed at site 1 and it had a lovely view over the pond. I’d love to come here again when it’s warmer and check out some of the other sites!

Good!
We stayed in site 2 The good: The campsite was beautiful. There was a little well type thing with a koi fish in it, a large pond within eyeshot of our campsite, and the trees were beautiful. We were able to find a lot of wood surrounding our site to burn for extra firewood and the fire pit was very large, the site was level, and the owners supplied us with chairs and a picnic table to use. There’s also a park right beside the campsite which has a pretty lake. The bad: the site was really really far away from our cars. They provided us with carts to use to transport things from our cars to the campsite and back which was very helpful, but the walk was at least 200 yards and mostly uphill. There was a hiking trail right behind the campsite so there were a number of hikers walking past throughout the day, but it wasn’t too big of a deal especially if you want to go on a quick hike. Overall we had fun, but I feel like it was a little pricey for what we got.

Great campsite/property
Great Seculded campsite, very easy access to park that borders property so you have tons of area to explore. Camp store is a very nice extra amentity for beginner campers who forgot something/prefer to use bathroom instead of the great outdoors. Thanks Jen and Tom

Nice hosts and property but we never would have booked if we knew that we would have to lug everything over 100 yards or so. Should have mentioned so people can decide if that would work for them

Awesome camping experience
What a beautiful property and lovely hosts. Wise open spaces, forest and copse of trees spread theoughout with fire rings. Even though it rained a lot, the $10 dollar firewood was nice and dry. A good lot of firewood for the money too. When you augment that with foraged wood from the rorest, we were able to enjoy a really awesome fire after the rain stopped. I highly recommend this location. I will be back to try some of the other sites too.

Scenic Turtle Ridge was pretty cool. The host was nice and we had a good time overall. My mixed review has more to do with our camping location (Camp 4) than anything else. When we arrived to our spot we noticed that there wasn’t really a flat place to put our tent. As mentioned in the description, there are chickens and geese on the property, which is a neat part of the experience. Camp 4 is also a lot closer to the chicken coops, so it was quite loud through most of the night. The roosters started crowing at like 4 am. The combination of these two things meant that we just didn’t sleep very well. We enjoyed ourselves though and may look forward to coming back to a different campsite in the future.

Tucked away gem
We had a peaceful and pleasant stay here. The house and camp sites are situated away from the road so it feels very private and quiet. 3 of us stayed at site 1 and found it very accessible and spacious. Plenty of space for 2 tents, close to the house which has a bathroom to use and a huge awesome fire pit! The land is very unique and we explored Hibernia park trails right from the property. Great star/moon viewing, nature, and chicken and duck sounds :). The little store inside near the bathroom was a bonus that provided extra supplies, drinks, and fresh eggs (for cash). We bought 1/2 dozen eggs and cooked them up for breakfast over the fire! I would definitely stay here again at any of the 4 sites. It's a great tucked away little gem for a weekend getaway.

Fun camping trip!
We had a great time staying at this campsite. We booked campsite 3, which is oriented on a small hill so it’s not the optimal campsite, but we were able to set up our tent and sleep decently on the one kind of level part, and looking at it there were two spots that were more level than slanted that could be okay spots of a tent. Hosts were very friendly, and they have an indoor bathroom and a little area with small items to buy (soda, s’mores kit, glo sticks etc). They also had dry firewood for sale, which was great because it had rained earlier in the day on the day we camped. There are adorable animals on the property, goats, ducks, chickens… maybe a sheep? Campsite 2 was the most set back in the woods and private, 2 and 3 were pretty private in the woods and campsite 1 was closest to the bathroom, sort of half in and half out of the woods. Site three had a nice fire ring, a grate, a table and a few plastic chairs which was convenient. They have heavy duty wagons for moving around the firewood or your gear to and from the car — I’m not sure if you’ve allowed to drive right up to the campsites to unload, but the parking area is a little ways away from the sites - we just carried our stuff In no problem, but after we discovered the wagon we used that on the way out. The location is perfect for beginner campers and the property backs onto some hiking trails so there is plenty to do there. I’d recommend it!
