We purchased our dream homestead in 2020, and we would love to share it with others as we build it to become bountiful and as self-sustaining as possible. It is not in the middle of nowhere....it's in the middle of everywhere! Learn more about this land: Camp next to a peaceful trickling creek just outside Phoenixville and Kimberton. We are a suburban oasis, surrounded by a little bit of everything.  Our homestead has plenty of activity including kids, dogs, and chickens, and bees! We have a fully wooded area available to explore across the creek, and weather dependent- the creek is a great place to stay cool. You'll see lots of growing fruit trees in our developing orchard and we are happy to share our vision for this beautiful land! We have two campsites available for you to choose between for your stay. Both sites are along the creek, however, one has a view of some nearby houses and is a short walk to the parking spot [Creekside]. The other site is more secluded, past the tree line, but a further walk from where you are able to park. [Hillside] If needed, we are happy to lend you a wagon to haul your gear. Please let us know if you have questions and your preference of site. We have a cabin-like bathroom and partial kitchen you will have access to during your stay. We always have cold water available for purchase in the fridge. There is trail access easily accessible from our home (the closest is approximately 1 mile), for paved or natural trail exploration. We are are a great stopping point for cyclists enjoying the area. It's a short drive to downtown Phoenixville with some of the best breweries around. Phoenixville is home to a great farmers market on Saturday mornings and numerous festivals. Also, close-by is the lovely quaint village of Kimberton, home of the best organic grocery store and many opportunities for hiking and small farms.

Phoenixville is home to a great farmers market and numerous festivals. Also, close-by is the lovely quaint village of Kimberton, home of the best organic grocery store and many opportunities for hiking and small farms. Your dogs are welcome to camp with you, but please note they need to be leashed and remain at your camp site, outside the boundaries of our electric fence. This means they do not have access to our bathroom/kitchen facilities. Dogs will only be allowed at one of our two preferred sites, so please verify availability when booking.  Parking will be a short walk from your site, not directly at site due to being creekside locations. There is a walk to access the bathroom facilities, which are located at the end of our driveway. Campsites along creek are dependent on water level, to include a secluded area along the creek and facing the woods.

This was our very first experience using hip camp so we didn’t have any prior expectations. The Creekside campsite was gorgeous, even despite the rain. It was very scenic and private! That being said, the pool house facilities with the bathroom, kitchen, and dining room were lackluster. We understood it was someone’s living space (and they have children), but the place was filled with clutter / untidyness and the kitchen was unusable. Luckily, we weren’t banking on using this space because we brought our own camping gear but something to keep in mind if you stay here, especially if it’s raining and you don’t have shelter.

This was our second time staying on Richard's land and at Creekside. As usual, we had a lovely overnight camp there and were delighted to see the goats and chickens again this year! The creekside location is really nice and quiet and it's a treat to get to listen to the sound of the creek as you go to sleep and wake up in the morning. Our cycling team hopes to continue our September camp tradition as their hospitality is fantastic and the location is just so nice.

Lovely weekend getaway. Kind, hospitable hosts and a beautiful property with lots of adorable animals. Minutes from downtown Phoenixville which is also a plus. Highly recommend staying!

Richard was a really gracious host, and the creek running by the Hillside spot was great for young kids to play. Parking was probably 50 yards away which made unloading a breeze since I packed too much stuff. You’re even closer to the house on the property with it pretty clearly in view, so it isn’t very private - but the upside is that you are close to the pool house bathroom. Once I got there I never saw/heard the host or family again so they were great about helping it feel private even if we were close by.

Our family loved camping here! The spot for our tent was level, grassy and under a shaded area by a beautiful creek. It was quite hot on the days we visited, but swimming and wading in the creek was perfect for cooling down. Our kids loved visiting the goats and chickens! It was helpful to have access to the toilet, shower, and a sink and fridge. This was a perfect spot and our kids have already asked when we can return. :)

Richard was very nice and accommodating. We had a fabulous time and had a really nice experience camping on his farm. The running water bathroom and the kitchenette was a huge plus for us and was well kept. The farm is next to some trails both near by for driving and walking. I would camp here again!

This is a very sweet camping oasis tucked away in the suburbs. It has a gorgeous camp site, a nice parking spot in addition, and a safe, quiet location with easy access to attractions in and around Philly. We found the indoor full bathroom and kitchenette to be the icing on the cake! Richard met us upon arrival and offered everything anyone could need for a pleasant stay, which we definitely had. Don't hesitate to book this Hipcamp!

Really lovely camp site. We were traveling for a bike race and we were able to comfortably stay the night with great access to a bathroom and shower. The chickens and goats were really the greatest amenity of them all :) Great communication and hospitality.

The location is incredibly amazing! We sunk into the nature's beauty by the creek side and waking up with water sounds was truly a unique experience. Host Richard's hospitality was homely. Feeding the chickens is something could have planned better by communicating with us early. Overall it's a unique and amazing experience!

This is a sweet little spot. When you first arrive it is a little off-putting because there are houses really close but when you get in to your camp site (creekside) it is like a little secluded oasis with beautiful trees, a running creek and a little fishing spot for the kiddos. There is also a zip line. I've read in other reviews that a picnic table would be nice and I agree. Other than that, it was great. I would recommend.

This was a good spot for a quick weekend trip! Quiet property with more privacy than you'd expect in a suburb. Falling asleep to the sound of the creek was very relaxing. Host gave a brief tour upon arrival including separate bathroom facilities. Would recommend to first-time campers or families looking for a launching pad to explore nearby town and parks.

We are seasoned tent campers and selected this place to spend the night so we didn’t have to drive a huge distance in one day. It is as described, and there was nothing that disappointed us. While it is not the most remote site… It turned out to be a lot quieter than some remote places we’ve stayed where we were camping near a noisy group or family. The sound of the flowing water in the brook next to our tent provided a nice lullaby. If I had a magic wand to have anything I wanted, I would have produced a picnic table for a touch of luxury, but it wasn’t a problem, since we are at home, sitting directly on mother earth! While we could see a few houses from adjacent properties, we never saw or heard anyone. There were no disturbances. A+ highly recommend.

Overall it was a lovely stay, and we enjoyed our time here. It was a lot more suburban than the listing led us to believe, but the communication with the owners was great, and they were very nice. Would recommend for someone who’s hesitant to try a remote camping experience, but maybe not for the seasoned camper.

Richard was a very kind host. I brought some family who haven’t gone camping before and were a little nervous. We were immediately greeted by mischievous but very sweet small goats running down the road in search of treats. Our site was right at this beautiful creek on his property. We paid for the chicken feeding experience and the young one enjoyed playing with and greeting the animals. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

We completed our first ever camping trip here with our dog and toddler and it was amazing! From the second we pulled up we spotted the heron in the creek and heard the sound of the water trickling along the rocks. I loved hearing all about their homestead, watching the animals and being able to use their pool house was just a bonus! We felt safe on this tucked away piece of paradise. If we are ever back on the East Coast I’d love to stay here again! This family is full of knowledge and do a beautiful job making the most of their land and sharing with others.

Richard’s land in a quiet neighborhood was perfect for tent camping. There was a functional bathroom and kitchen, and it was very peaceful with a stream going through the property. Richard was very friendly when he met us at our campsite. We greeted the farm animals in the morning as well - fun!!!

This spot is exactly what the posting claims and doesn’t. I stayed here alone with my dog and felt both very safe and pretty secluded, hard to remember once you’re on their lovely property that this is a suburb! Except it’s super quick to both hiking and the cute downtown Bridge Street. The hosts were so wonderful - kindly moved me to higher ground bc they knew bad storms might come thru and assured me they would take me in if there were tornadoes or anything scary! The chickens and goats help it feel remote and farm like, and the little pool house kitchen and bathroom were an amazing convenience. Hope to stay again!!

The hosts were really wonderful, they were respectful, kind and gave good insight on things to see around while I was visiting. I got to meet their beautiful kids as well, the whole family was very sweet. The camping site was very clean and had enough space for a few people, with a fireplace and a bench too. The little river that ran just a few steps from the site was wonderful to hear when falling asleep as well as the fireflies. I had the pleasure of waking up and seeing a doe with bambis passing by on the other side of the little river. Great place for camping, would recommend to anyone.

Nice little cozy camp, Brown, owners are amazing. If you’re looking to take someone who’s never been camping, this is the best place to start. I had an amazing one day get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Would definitely come back and we’ll come back.

Suburban Camping!! You would never know based on where this HipCamp is located the amount of privacy you will have! It is on an 8 acre property right in the middle of Phoenixville. You have access to multiple camping sites, free parking on site, a bathroom/shower, and a small kitchenette. You are a short drive from downtown and anything you could possibly need! The perfect camping getaway for those near & far!
