Each site is private. When the ground is dry there is access for all vehicles. When the ground is muddy, Brookside, RiverRock, and Richardson Creek campsites require a 4-wheel drive and have alternate routes to get to them. Ancient Oaks is an all-weather site. You can enjoy hiking and swimming in Richardson Creek when water levels permit. Canoeing from Bakers Crossing put-in which is only 3 miles away. This is not really a vacation destination but more a safe place to stay coming to town to explore all Granbury has to offer or a place to catch your breathe while traveling on the road. Friends have enjoyed escaping here for years. I decided to share the zen. It's a bit rough around the edges but if the new venture succeeds it will only get better each time you visit. Cabin with a full kitchen, washer/dryer combo, bathroom with shower, and a queen bed in the first-floor bedroom. The upstairs loft/kids’ play area has a twin and a double mattress on the floor. There’s a small TV room/sitting area, an outdoor deck with a small patio table, and a private yard area with a fire pit, picnic table, and charcoal grill (bring charcoal and starter). You can even set up a tent in the yard — best of both worlds! We sit on 3.5 acres with trails to explore. The property is fenced in, so you won’t accidentally wander off. When we moved here three years ago, the trails were very rough; we’ve been slowly improving them. They’re by no means spectacular, but they’re fun — especially for kids looking for rabbits, roadrunners, toads, deer, and who knows what else. There are no creeks, ponds, or other water features, just good old dirt!
