We loved our stay in The Bunker at Glan y Mor! The bunker itself was spacious enough for the two of us, warm, and the bed was very cosy. It was stocked with everything we needed for cooking, and the wood stove inside was a nice touch. Its location on the campsite also made it feel more private, which was great. The firepit outside the bunker and handy access to firewood really added to our stay.
The campsite is nicely landscaped and set out, and maintains a natural woodland area. The amenities are well laid out, well maintained and high quality. The radio playing ClassicFM in the toilet block was a nice touch. There is a communal fridge and firepit, as well as other basics such as a kettle. The campsite was quiet - we had no issues with noise even though the site was busy throughout our stay.
Cath and Adam were friendly and responsive, welcoming us to the campsite and recommending us nearby places to visit.
The campsite is within easy walking distance within the centre of Pembroke Dock, and is also centrally located to a range of points of interest in the region, making it a great base during your stay.

Lovely, well appointed camp! Great facilities and hidden gems to discover once you are there! Pizzas are delicious and a truly magical spot looking towards the Priselli hills. Spa was delightful, pigs are friendly and the hay bale barn was a big hit with the kids! Highly recommend.

Me and my wife went for the first time and, as first time campers in South Wales, the experience was lovely.
The our pitch was bigger than we expected, the check in process was painless, the view was incredible and I am missing the silence already.
Oh, and the home made pizza was excellent, even if the wait was longer than expected (through no fault of theirs, there were more people than usual ordering)

Really cool, very unique camp site. We stayed in the Hideaway which seemed like the most private pitch, which was great for us and our dog! The kitchen hut was very handy. We loved the eco friendly features - toilet and shower facilities are very basic but do the job well. Howell was very helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay again!

WOW! We have just returned from a 3 night stay, and I’m hesitant to write this… only because I don’t know if I want the world to discover this little haven we will now forever adopt as our own, BUT that would be selfish, and Peter deserves all the recognition for the pure love that has been poured into every detail of this little, beautiful campsite. The site is well taken care of with little trails that lead you to little secluded spots and to the larger field that is immaculately conserved with trees surrounding the space. We recommend you use an app that helps you identify all the birds because the bird song there is truly wild, loud and varied. There is a lovely little lake at the bottom of the site that is being preserved for the wildlife, with so much activity to be witnessed even in the short time we spent walking around it. The toilets are regularly maintained and super clean. The showers were hot, clean and in a separate block to the toilets. All brought together with a really well designed aesthetic as well as made incredibly functional. Both carry through the eco ethos and are stocked with environmentally considered products in case your own dont fit the bill. Peter (aka Grumpy Farmer who is an absolutely beautiful soul) was always on hand to come and help if need be, always seemingly working on the site on more beautiful features, projects that work with the campsite, like food banks, community growing and forest school. We will return. Yearly.

Where to go
Pembrokeshire Coast National Park
The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, within which the town of Tenby is set, is dotted with family-run campsites and caravan parks offering views over the Irish Sea, as well as upscale glamping options. Plus, birdwatchers, horseback riders, and hikers are well-catered for within the park, which is also a hotspot for water-based activities like surfing and canoeing. If you have the time, you can also walk the length of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path.
Cardigan Bay
While Cardigan Bay extends almost the entire length of the West Wales coast, the southern portion—from Aberystwyth down—is easily accessible in under two hours from Tenby. There, walk the southern portion of the Ceredigion Coast Path, enjoy the Blue Flag beaches, or try a wealth of watersports, such as coasteering and canoeing. Whichever stretch of the Bay you choose to explore, you won’t be short on full-service holiday parks complete with hook-ups and wifi, campervan sites, and campgrounds in which to pitch your tent.
Brecon Beacons National Park
Bike the Taff Trail, hike the miles of well-signposted rights of way, and stargaze after dark in the Brecon Beacons National Park, the only International Dark Sky Reserve in Wales. Just over an hour and a half east of Tenby, this national park is home to several family-friendly campsites and caravan parks—ideal during the winter months—that will suit most campers. Plus, enjoy inland water activities such as windsurfing and canoeing on Llangorse Lake.
When to go
Tenby is a pleasant seaside town which enjoys peak beach season during the sunny summer months of May to September. For outdoor pursuits, the cooler spring and autumn months are excellent, as well as quieter and cheaper. However, you should expect rainfall throughout the year, particularly during November, December, and January.
Know before you go
- Tenby town centre may be small, but there are plenty of high-quality camp supply stores, such as Trespass and Mountain Warehouse.
- St. Catherine’s Island is a tidal island, so access depends on the sea and the season. Check times and dates in advance before planning your visit.
- Tenby hosts an annual Iron Man contest in September and a Long Course Weekend in July. During these dates, the town is overrun with visitors so make sure to book accommodation well in advance.
- There’s a train station in Tenby although routes from Birmingham, Manchester, and London require at least one change in Swansea.
