Head west through Wales to the coast and somewhere by the south east corner of Ireland is the beautiful region of Pembrokeshire. Halfway between the smallest cathedral city in the realm and the site of the last invasion of Britain by their Gallic neighbours is the idyll of Sir Benfro. Once in Trevine or Trefin, there is a long bumpy lane with no tarmac. Watch that sat nav go into the blue, and you too can be Ar y Mwny.
Make your camp nestled on a gentle hillside, with panoramic views of the sea and countryside. Located just about as far away from any roads as its possible to get in this part of Pembrokeshire, yet still only a short walk to the coast via footpaths.
Being situated amongst several hundred acres of farmland, we not only have inspirational views but also the blessing of unobstructed sunrises and sunsets, followed by a wide open starscape.
Its possible to take the wildlife for granted, but across the seasons we can delight in the bird flocks, and casually greet the resident buzzards and foxes and the family of Jac y Do that have raised their young here over several decades. And now, the little birds are managing to flourish too. We live here in harmony, and are thankful for the space. Forget that clock.
For each pitch there is:

A main toilet block with three toilets with wash basins - each in family-sized rooms.

This is a natural meadow suitable for Wild Camping with one tent

A second spot in a clearing overlooking a woodland - suitable for a campervan. There is no toilet or water facilities here, but you can refill water from our house further down the track.
This clearing is a hard surface, and is along our track, so some traffic should expected.
We are situated within easy reach of Newport Pembrokeshire and the Pembrokeshire Coast. There is plenty of local walking through woodland, moorland on the Preseli Hills and on the coast.

Our beautiful home is a glamping and camping site with its own gorgeous fishing lake on the outskirts of the village of Llandyfan. You can find us to the west of the Brecon Beacons or Bannau Brycheiniog National Park.
Llandyfan Campsite has been lovingly re-established in early 2024 by Andy and Jo. Since taking ownership, we have rolled up our sleeves and got stuck into restoring it to its former glory and will soon be back to being a fully operational slice of Welsh heaven.
Our first focus has been the fishing lake which we opened in March. The campsite followed in May. We are currently working on electric hook ups and other improvements.
We have chickens on site that roam free during the day. They are friendly and like to wander around the tents to say hello to our guests!
We would like everyone who visits to have a great time and a relaxing break. Whilst here please be considerate towards others, to their property, and while using the facilities. If you have any concerns, please let us know.
We have brought out a few rules from our T&Cs and we kindly ask that you have a read through before your stay.
Litter:
You must pick up your litter. Please either take it with you or recycle it appropriately in the bins onsite. There are bins around the campsite, please recycle where possible.
Pitches to be left as you found them.
Noise:
Be respectful and consider your neighbours. Keep noise to a minimum after 10pm and before 8am in the morning.
No loud music is to be played at any time.
Children:
Children must be supervised at all times around the campsite and can play within the pitch space allocated to you. At quiet times, it may be possible for children to use vacant pitches for play but this cannot be guaranteed. The amenity block and associated facilities are not to be used as a play area.
Dogs:
Must not to be left unattended.
Are to be kept on leads at all times whilst on the campsite. (We are working on an enclosed dog walking area, however this is not yet available).

The area around Penuwch Inn has plenty of walking and cycling routes for anyone who wants to explore the region (ask your friendly hosts Nicky and Julian for tips). Pick up a map before you arrive, then disappear for the day on a mountain bike, making your way along the Ceredigion Coast Path or the banks of Afon Teifi – the second longest river in Wales – or Afon Aeron. If you prefer two legs to two wheels, you can pick up the Ceredigion Coast Path from Llanrhystud, a 15-minute drive from the site.
For drinks, there's a bar on site open between Thursday and Sunday. For food, meanwhile, you can pick up some supplies for the barbecue at Tregaron.
And then? Relax in the evenings by turning your eyes to the stars, soaking up the dark skies above the site to see some of the wonders of the Milky Way…

We are a small, peaceful. secluded campsite bordered by woodland and a stream, set amidst the wildlife country of the Ceredigion countryside on the edge of the Cambrian mountains. With only 20 camping pitches (7 with hard standing) and 'The Bothy' shepherd's hut, Teifi Meadows is a place to relax, unwind and appreciate the calming beauty of nature. This is a dark sky zone with stunning celestial views on clear nights, and near-zero light pollution as well as pristine air and water quality. Our guests tend to appreciate the quiet stillness here and we don't have a lot of disturbances...so all you will hear is the wind, the birds, the rushing streams and perhaps the odd cow! :)
Everyone, even the cynical, should have a little romance in their lives. Especially if it includes a scenic setting with easy access to local pubs (a holiday extra that thaws the icy hearts of the cynical even more than blazing sunsets). Teifi Meadows should warm the battery of your camera as well as the cockles of your heart: this is wildlife country – look out for red kites overhead – in the midst of the greenery of the Ceredigion countryside, and close to the walks, dolphin spotting and beaches of the stunning west coast and Cardigan Bay. National Trust sites, River Teifi fishing and canoeing, mountain pony trekking, Roman gold mines and blooming great gardens are in the area too. Lampeter, about three miles away, has plenty of food shops, independent stores and a farmers’ market, and the pub at Cellan, also three miles away, serves food and Sunday lunches - another romantic highlight…

The space
Waunbayvil camping is set in its own secluded spot on 40 acres of private wildland and woodlands in the Pembrokeshire national Park, with a pond and views of the stunning landscape. It is the perfect getaway, a place to re-connect with nature and your loved ones in the most peaceful place away from it all. This is not a big campsite with lots of other people, you can book one of 3 seperate fields for a private group, or otherwise, only 2 or 3 families very spread out at a time.
The pitches are set out with plenty of space in between. There is parking for cars or campervans with nothing but nature all around you. We also have a small hard standing area for campervan.
There is a shared compost loo, a washing up area, and an off grid shower shack. It is set in the most beautiful surroundings, teaming with wild life and filled with wild orchids and many different species of grasses and wildflowers. It is unique and a treat for people who love natural habitat. The sea is about two miles away where there are spectacular cliff walks for many miles on the Pembrokeshire coast path, and beautiful beaches for swimming.
Bring logs and kindling with you. (Can be bought from any garage)
If you bring a cool box we can top you up with frozen ice packs. Just ask.

Great place for private camping with a van/car or a tent. Each of a handful of pitches, which are generously separated on a field or woodland, comes with its own compost toilet, a cosy shelter, and a drinking water tap. Hot showers are 1min walk and shared. Howell is a lovely and helpful host. Nice 13km trail run or short mb tour around the closeby water reservoir. Definitely recommended!

We were the only campers for one night on this very quiet and beautiful site. Absolutely silent and completely dark with only the sound of birds and the wind and rain in the trees. Excellent loo, shower and washing up station and very kind and welcoming owner. A healing and restorative experience. Recommended .

What a beautiful place to camp. This was my first time camping and we picked such a lovely place to experience it for the first time. Mark was very welcoming and really helpful. We had a few choices of where we could pitch our tent which was nice. We were very lucky with the weather as well. Beautiful views for a sunset & sunrise.
We enjoyed waking up to peace & quiet (minus the farm animals which we were quite content with ☺️)
There is a shower room & toilet which is ideal after a days hiking! We would recommend Marks farm to friends & family and would camp there again.

Lovely chilled out campsite with clean facilities and a lovely unspoilt meadow and stream to play in. Super relaxing and flexible with checking out so we were able to leave the tent to dry in the sun before packing away. Great location, in east distance of the black mountains and red kite feeding centre (epic!)

Me and my wife went for the first time and, as first time campers in South Wales, the experience was lovely.
The our pitch was bigger than we expected, the check in process was painless, the view was incredible and I am missing the silence already.
Oh, and the home made pizza was excellent, even if the wait was longer than expected (through no fault of theirs, there were more people than usual ordering)

Where to go
South Pembrokeshire
This is the most popular part of the national park, where perfectly positioned resort towns like Tenby and Saundersfoot pull in crowds keen to see the area’s fabulous beaches. Those seeking tranquillity in South Pembrokeshire can do so at striking locations like the castle-flanked surf spot of Manorbier, the dramatic seabird paradise of Elegug Rock Stacks, and vast Freshwater Bay. The Saundersfoot to Tenby stretch of coast is covered in campsites—Manorbier and Freshwater East have quieter sites.
St Davids & Around
Ancient Britons dubbed St Davids area a “thin” place, where the gap between earth and heaven was small. Bounded shores of bizarre rock formations, coves, and dreamy fishing villages, this remains a spiritual spot, full of prehistoric sites. It’s a great experience to camp out on the crag-dotted grasslands around Britain’s westernmost city, St Davids, and Wales’ westernmost headland, St Davids Head. Here, several scenic coastal campsites are available, and St Davids’ exquisite cathedral is nearby.
Preseli Hills
The Preseli Hills are a little different from the coastal Pembrokeshire most people are acquainted with. This unkempt, barren range has scarcely any settlement, and is most notable for possessing one of Europe’s greatest densities of prehistoric monuments, along with its adventurous hiking. North Pembrokeshire’s Newport, 10 miles southwest of Cardigan, is the northern gateway to these rugged inland moors. Pitching near Mynachlog-ddu puts you near the Golden Road hike, which traverses the Preseli’s ridge via umpteen ancient sites.
Cardigan Bay
Wales’ biggest bay, curving north from North Pembrokeshire’s Strumble Head to Southern Gwynedd via Ceredigion, was where camping in Wales originally took off. Pembrokeshire’s part of the bay is peaceful outside the main towns of Fishguard and Newport (though these spots do offer special sandy beaches too). Go bottlenose dolphin-watching or walk the Wales Coast Path, traversing solitary headlands such as Strumble Head and Cemmaes Head. The Pembrokeshire stretch’s campsites are mostly small affairs with big bundles of character.
