Guests to Rhos y Gallt describe the campsite as a little gem of a site - small, quite and tranquil with wonderful sunsets. The site can accommodate up to 5 caravans and 10 tents situated on a level 2 acre site within the beautiful rolling hills of Montgomeryshire in Mid Wales.
There are hard standing pitches with electric hook-up as well as grass pitches with and without electric hook-up. There is also a field bordering a river which is used for wild camping - but you'll have to share it with the sheep!
The toilet block has a family wet room with shower, toilet, wash hand basin and baby changing unit, a separate toilet, shower and kitchen area with freezer.
The site borders a river meadow where visitors can wonder down and take a walk down with the river bank, relax by the water edge, throw a few skimmers, do a spot of fishing or even go wild water swimming (at your own risk!).
Well behaved dogs are welcome (maximum 2 per unit).

Our site is in the far northwest corner of Wales UK, on the wild coastal edge of the Llŷn Peninsula, or Penllŷn in Welsh. We are surrounded by sea and look across to the mountains of Eryri / Snowdonia.
The camping area is part of our private property where we live and work, along with our dog. We are restoring our land to a wildflower meadow and other nature friendly habitat, but allowing use of one field for seasonal camping and occasionally larger gatherings.
We are in an ideal spot for cyclists and walkers exploring the coast of Wales (we are a short diversion from the national coast path). Low carbon travellers are welcome, with Pwllheli train station about 5 miles away and we are also on the main Pwllheli to Aberdaron bus route. We can accommodate a limited number of vehicles including camper vans and smaller motor homes (please check size with us first to ensure your motorhome is not too wide for our track).
The field is accessed by a good quality track which bypasses the house and garden and goes direct into the field. So we can accommodate cars, tents and camper vehicles, however larger vehicles may struggle with the initial access to our priority which is narrow, so please contact us first to check this out with us. There is an outdoor tap for water by the house and a composting ‘eco’ loo in the camping field. In the near future we will be installing a water supply in the camping area. We can also provide a bbq/ fire pit but ask that you source your own fuel.
Exclusive whole site group bookings are possible.

There is a wealth of wonderful footpaths, interesting landmarks and fantastic beaches in the nearby area. The villages of Abersoch and Llanbedrog are nearby with a choice of pubs and eateries, Pwllheli has a range of larger shops. Local eggs and other produce can be bought locally too, and there is both a farm shop and village post office/general store. We can help you with finding what you need.
We will be nearby at the house to offer assistance so we also ask that you are considerate and also respect our privacy, minimise noise, keep gates closed and access clear.

Staying at Felin Ucha is always a pleasure for both heart and soul. The site is well maintained but not overly so, the lower meadow is cut short and nearer to the compost toilets (most excellent), washing up area (very clean) and the showers (private and clean), which could make this area more suitable for families (imho), whilst the top meadow is less mown with the wild flowers and grass allowed to grow around the cut area of the tent pitches. This is where I camped, the birdsong in the morning was absolute bliss, brewing coffee to this soundscape set up the coming day just right. The whole site is great to explore and any description will fall short of just how amazing it is, go see it and explore for yourself. The cafe is a true delight for all the senses, it is quite possibly my favourite place to visit and partake of wonderful food, drinks and hospitality that is second to none (imho) . Menter Y Felin is more than just a place it is a state of mind and way of life. Most highly recommended.

We had a wonderful stay at Mynydd Mawr Campsite. The site is beautifully scenic, very clean, spacious, and well organised. The sea views are absolutely stunning, especially the view across to Bardsey Island, and there are plenty of peaceful paths to walk while enjoying the surrounding nature.
We also loved exploring the nearby village of Aberdaron — it’s charming, friendly, and full of character.
Overall, this is a truly lovely place to stay. We highly recommend it and will definitely be returning.

There is a large lake within a few minutes walk of the site, absolutely gorgeous scenery
Toilet & shower block nice and clean, separate bins available for recycling, access to microwave and kettle also
Owner John is lovely & helpful, brought our firepit & logs over quickly

We had an exceptional view of the sunset from our tentbox. We also booked early in the morning for the same day accepted, which was very convenient for travelling from our previous destination.
The facilities were clean, the showers are free but limits the water usage by stopping every minute (you just need to keep pushing it in) we couldn't connect to the Internet unfortunately.
Apart from that it was lovely & we would recommend staying.

My partner and I stayed for the last night of our coastal Welsh road trip and WOW! Saved the best till last! We wanted the closest to ‘wild camping’ with facilities and this is exactly what we got. The host was super helpful and quick to reply to any queries. The welcome PDF was very clear and made check in/out super smooth. The setting is just breath taking, and we had such a peaceful evening. A very welcoming and comfortable stay at Edens Nook. We parked up on a dry pitch, kindly offered as it was available next to the yurts. We had the fire pit, bench and garden to ourselves so we could could and enjoy the peaceful space as the sun set. Warm showers and a cracking breakfast. Well worth it!

I can’t tell you how peaceful, how pleasant and enjoyable my time was properly. I’ve left today relaxed because I slept incredibly. The lake which is 5 mins away is spectacular. Honestly everything you can think of is provided. Because it’s a smaller site the attention to detail is doubled. Great energy, owners are incredibly welcoming and sweet. I feel like they do anything to make your stay pleasant. I will be back, 100%. I want to come for a clear night because there is no light pollution so the stars will be incredible. Hot showers, lovely clean bathrooms. Also they have lots of spare bits, I needed a pot for cooking and there was a plethora to borrow from. 10/10

We loved our stay at smugglers cove! The pitch is very well maintained with stunning views. It’s so peaceful and the fire pit was great in the evening. Facilities are clean and well kept, lovely to have warm water for washing up. We can’t wait to come and stay again in the spring/summer. We loved it!

I loved the Boy John. There was so much attention to detail in everything on board. Very comfortable bed and plenty of lighting. Also clear instructions around the site, regarding water, showers, toilets etc. All facilities very clean. Nothing compares to having your own little bit of coastline !!
