The Yellow Submarine is complete with Radar, Giant Octopus Detector, Shark Warning System, Anti-Whale-Bump technology and a special cool space for Mums' wine. There are buttons to press, and knobs and dials and gauges and lights and real portholes. Look through the Periscope to check for any Sharks, Whales, Dolphins and Sea Monsters lurking nearby. There's a Galley Kitchen with Hob, Fridge, Sink, Crockery, Cutlery, and all the bits and bobs you'll need. Outside you'll find a BBQ & Firepit.
When not deep under the Ocean, you'll find the Yellow Submarine at Petruth Paddocks - the best fun Free-Range Camping in Somerset. The vibe is as chilled as a rather good Prosecco thanks to the cucumber-cool Jules and the team there. There's a Family Field with an activity area where kids are free to clamber on old cable reels, sleepers, tractor tyres and an old Land Rover.

Off the beaten track on top of the Mendips in an area of outstanding natural beauty. A mixture of four acres of wild woodland, orchard and field set on a hillside. Our Yurt is set up in the trees giving you peaceful seclusion and a clear view across the sea to Wales and the mountains of the Brecon Beacons. A huge range of activities are possible or you can lie in the hammock with a good book. We have very friendly dogs and rescue chickens who may come and visit. Wild deer wander past in the early morning mist and the odd buzzard picks an argument with a bunch of crows but nothing much else should disturb you. We moved here after an 18 month search 8 years ago. It was close to everything we wanted and we've spent some time getting a bit closer.

This is a tranquil, off grid nearly wild campsite, with a strong eco ethos with views across to Exmoor, composting toilet facilities, and recycling facilities. the wildlife is abundant, all the pitches are extremely generously sized and a Fire Pit provided for each one.
It's a 10 minute drive to Sidmouth with its beautiful beaches and wide range of Independent shops, Cafes and pubs, and 10 minutes drive in the opposite direction to Ottery St Mary, which also boasts a wide range of Independent shops, there are also plenty of Farm Shops in the area.
There is no end of wonderful beaches to explore along the Jurassic coastline. From Fossil hunting in Lyme Regis to the East, the quaint fishing village of Beer to massive golden sandy beaches in Exmouth to the west.
With lots of woodland walks on the 'doorstep' the East Devon Way is a 5 minute walk away, 15 minutes walk to the Fire Beacon Nature Reserve and for keen hikers, we're close to the South West Coast Path.
For mountain bikers, there are some great routes in the local woodlands and bike routes are also close by with the challenging River Exe Loop and family bike routes along the Otter river less than 15 minutes’ drive away.

I have always loved Sweet Hill Farm. It’s a lovely relaxed campsite with sea views and amazing walks nearby. Also, being able to have a camp fire is fantastic. The showers are brilliant too.
The only disappointment for me this year is that the compost loos have been replaced with horrible portaloos! Please bring back compost loos, they are so much nicer!

This was my first time camping here and I will definitely return again.
Whilst SatNav got me most of the way, the directions on Hipcamp made the last little bit of the journey much easier.
I was welcomed warmly at the well-stocked little cafe, and given a map to show my how to get to the field I pitched in. The tracks on-site are full of large potholes - so definitely something to be mindful of, especially if you have extremely low-suspension on your car! However, take it slow and easy and all is well here.
I had the most amazing view, from where I pitched up, over to Portland Bill lighthouse. Both sunset and sunrise were stunning.
Facilities here are extremely basic - but it’s enough for those that simply need to get away from life for a while and sleep under the stars without all the creature comforts of home. Of course, there is a place for being able to have all the mod-cons available, but this is camping the way it should be done!
I wasn’t here long enough to speak to any of the other campers, but everyone seemed relaxed and there was no loud music or anything played into the night, meaning I could drift to sleep easily enough at the end of the day.

This was my first time ever camping and I had a great time at this site, it's the perfect mix of rural, real camping with local amenities near enough especially for someone doing camping for the first time. Located right near the coast, it's a beautiful view, excellent facilities including showers and cafe. The only downside is that when I did arrive in the evening there was no one to greet us, even though the cafe should've been open at that time but other than that no complaints, wonderful hosts and would definitely go again.

My 2 boys (13 and 9) and I stayed 2 nights in the Yellow Submarine and it was great fun! The controls and labels and various flashing lights were hilarious and the hatches and portholes were brilliant, all very authentic. My boys were convinced it had been a real sub once and totally loved the ‘history’ section of the welcome pack. The beds and sofa bed had comfy mattresses and it was good to have a little sink, fridge and hob inside. Really well stocked with sheets and duvets, plates, cutlery and pan and there was a lovely care package including tea coffee cereal boxes and marshmallows for the fire. There was even a heater/cooler so we didn’t get cold at night. Toilets are in the nearby wash block which was kept nice and clean and the showers were great. We didn’t use the BBQ and instead grilled over the top of our fire drum (tip - bring a grill if you have one, or they sell them in the excellently stocked campsite shop). The bunk bed was a bit too small for my tall 9-year old so he slept in the big bed with me and the sofa bed was comfy but narrow for my 13 yr old so 2 nights was about right. Sleeping would’ve been tricky if there’d been another person. The site was excellent and we’d love to come back - maybe to check out the school bus! Cheddar village is in easy walking distance and the site itself has lots of room for playing and football. Loved it!

This was good trip. The campsite is large and open so you can pick any spot you like. There is a place for a campfire in the middle of the field with some seats. There is drinking water on site and the toilets are very decent with toilet paper and soap provided. There is a shop where u can get wood, vegies, cold drinks and other bits (soft drinks only) The staff running the site are very friendly. There is showers on site with hot water and fairly good pressure. There is lots of green fields and a few local attractions. We did the Glastonbury Tor. I recommend doing it in the evening when the sun goes down. Be careful tho, it's quite steep so wear good shoes. On the farm itself you can see rabbits, lamas and goats. If you walk up the hill a bit you might see larga large herd of bulls who turned out to be very friendly (if you feed them some grass, but be careful, it's a bull). We were also lucky to see army planes and helicopters doing a very low fly by above the camping site. Very impressive. Overall we had a good time and it was a cheap little holiday.

Lovely, laid back campsite. Basic facilities but everything worked as it should. Nice walk into Glastonbury town. Campfires allowed. Firewood available at £5 a bag. Would recommend if your looking for peace and quiet whilst surrounded by nature.

We had a lovely welcome from Charlotte and some of her family. The site is amazing, lots of fields to suit everyone’s needs.
We had a sauna one night which was fabulous and the sauna/ well-being area is beautifully cared for by Daniel who is a brilliant sauna host.
The view from the camping fields is amazing, Portland Bill and the wildness of the countryside including the farm’s horses was lovely to wake up to every morning
We were lucky enough to have music on one night, which was great fun
Would definitely recommend and looking forward to a return trip.

2 nights at Sweet Hill Farm
The site has communal bathrooms for both men and women and very convenient sinks for dishes. Despite having beautiful animals like horses, sheep, and goats, it's very clean and doesn't smell bad. It has beautiful views of the sea, and the people who serve the coffee and sell firewood are very kind. The showers are chargeable (£1 for 3 minutes), and the cold water ones are outside, unprotected, like the ones on the beach; there's no direct access to the sea.

The campsite is beautifully located, close to the cliffs and the sea and surrounded by fields full of horses. It’s very relaxed and friendly and especially great if you like riding given the onsite equestrian facilities. Not far from Weymouth and if you need anything you can get it in Portland.

What a lovely site down amongst the trees. We particularly enjoyed the space, quiet, fire pit and being able to let our dogs roam free. The kitchen setup is great and the shower was so easy to use. Lovely clean site perfect for our family get away. Do book Sunday lunch at the castle inn pub and walk the 20-30 mins across the fields it was a great lunch.

Gorgeous! Beautiful views of the Mendips from field, also from A frame veranda where we sat to read when it got too hot.
Love the use of wood for toilet block and sinks.
The showers are great - nice and warm and in the old cattle shed?! I loved it!
