Andrea is pleased to offer a little luxury for those who want to camp at Downshay Farm in a comfortable bed. Farm is a working farm in the heart of the Isle of Purbeck, ideally located for exploring the stunning World Heritage Site coastline. The Pike family has farmed here since 1956. The farmhouse is largely Victorian although parts of the house and some farm buildings are much older. The accommodation looks out over the lovely views of Corfe Castle and the Purbeck Hills. The seaside town of Swanage is just over 4 miles away as are the sandy beaches of Studland Bay. Local footpaths and Swanage Steam Railway also make exploring Purbeck easy, and we are a few minutes’ walk from Harmans Cross Station. Enjoy the sandy beaches of Shell Bay, Studland and Swanage or go rock pooling or fossil hunting at Kimmeridge Bay. The Coastal Path will take you along the coast to Durlston Country Park, Dancing Ledge and Winspit. The deserted village of Tyneham and its own bay is a short drive away, then follow the scenic road over the Ranges to Lulworth and Durdle Door. Local attractions include Monkey World and Bovington Tank Museum, and a walk through the RSPB bird sanctuary at Arne to Poole Harbour is recommended.

I loved my overnight stay at Small Trees! The owners were so lovely, made me and my pup Ezra feel very welcome and safe. The facilities were very clean and some of the best campsite ones I’ve come across. The campsite itself was spacious, tidy and the dark sky at night was beautiful. They run a brilliant set up. I would love them to be open for more than 2.5 weeks as I’d definitely spend a lot of the year visiting as it’s the perfect space for a reset and to enjoy a peaceful few days! Will definitely be back next year. Thank you again so much!

Such a magical and beautiful campsite. Nestled within a small private woodland you feel like you're in another world. Quiet, serene and private with everything you need for an off grid getaway. The hosts were incredible and took us on a tour of the site. As we were the only ones staying at this time we got the pick of what we felt was the best spot. (You'll have to find out when you go) The site was operating a no fire rule as was the Devon county rules at the time of our stay due to the threat of wildfires, however there would have been firewood and kindling for sale in the little honesty shack. On offer were freshly laid eggs from the hosts, leaflets for the local area, and all the local wildlife to look out for. The site features large plots and most use a communal compost toilet and solar shower bags. These were clean and easy to operate and no hassle at all. If you want secluded and private woodland in a magical setting then look no further. One of the best campsites we've ever stayed at and will be recommending to all our friends. Thanks again for a wonderful stay!!

me and my family loved to stay in David's land, really good size of the camp site, really good toilette and showers with hot water. good space for my children to play. Then the campsite is in a good zone if you want go to visit around, there are Winchester, Stonehenge really close. really recommended.

Christine and Scott are so helpful! Its a lovely basic campsite.
The port-a-loo toilets are cleaned regularly. The showers have a good pressure and each cubical has a spacious private place to change with some little shelves to keep your clothes dry.
There is fresh running drinking water available.
The loos could benefit from a little PIR light or something...just for a little glow while you are in there in the dark (saves holding a torch).
Overall a really lovely, friendly place to have a little break ☺️

What a wonderful site, a real treasure! Tons of space for everyone, and nice and quiet in the evening. Fabulous pop up bar - we weren’t expecting Dave the mixologist 🍹- and pizzas on Friday. I checked ahead and GF was available, perfect! Also served a horse box breakfast, and picnics on order. A short walk to the village and great restaurants/pubs. So lovely to see a starry sky as there’s no light pollution on site. Polly is super friendly and came round and checked on everyone, and reminded us about freezer pack swap, which was vital on a no-electricity site. Spotless showers and loos, and plenty of hot, hot, hot water! Thanks for a fantastic stay - we’ll be back!

Most importantly the toilets and showers and washing up area was always clean and tidy and water was so warm all the time
Very peaceful on an evening and the location. Is perfect for all your surrounding day out activities ...
Phone charging station also come jn very handy after 4 days on the road with three children.

Our stay at Snellings Farm was wonderful! It’s an absolutely beautiful camp with ample space. Having the choice of pitch was brilliant, we were able to watch our children play from camp.
The staff at Snelling’s were so lovely! They made us feel so welcome. The Shepards hut shop was great and we were lucky enough to be there for Saturday night, where a great pizza van came which made beautiful food. Our children especially enjoyed the mini pancakes.
A ten minutes walk (with three children!) down the lane is the Ford which is an lovely spot for the children to paddle. There are loads of cool things to enjoy near by. But our favourite thing to do was take in the view at camp.

Lovely camping site! The people running it are friendly and helpful! Specially the lady at the reception, I forgot her name. She was lovely in helping me out by giving us some of her tea bags! The facilities are clean and even thought the site was busy it didn’t feel like it. The site is by a beautiful forest that you can just walk into it. The location is convenient for some beautiful beaches nearby. We only stayed one night, which is a shame. But I would definitely stay there again if I’m back to that side of Dorset.

We recently stayed at Primrose Field Campsite and had such a fantastic experience that we've already booked to come back!
From the moment we arrived, we received a warm welcome at check-in. As first-time visitors, we were invited to pitch wherever we liked and were given a thorough introduction to the site, including the locations of the water points, toilets, showers and recycling facilities. I was particularly impressed by the site's commitment to recycling, including food waste, meaning we hardly had any general rubbish by the end of our stay.
The campsite has a really friendly, relaxed atmosphere. There are quiet hours from 11pm and, although a few people were a little noisy, everyone was generally respectful and complied with the rules.
The portaloo-style toilets and showers were cleaned regularly and kept in excellent condition. The showers had plenty of hot water and were surprisingly spacious and comfortable.
Despite the very dry and hot weather, the campsite sensibly allowed barbecues as long as you followed their safety guidance and kept a large bucket of water nearby. It was great to see a practical approach that still prioritised safety.
The hosts were always around, checking that everyone was settled and available if you needed anything. You can even buy barbecues and firewood directly from the team, which is a really helpful touch.
We enjoyed our stay so much that we've already booked to return, this time with friends. There is so much to explore locally.

Facilities were always clean and smelling fresh. Great access to forest for walking and a bike ride. Nothing to not like really. We will definitely camp at Primrose fields again and highly recommend

Lovely camping in an old forest, pitches are distant from each other, so it is perfect if you want privacy and silence. Deer wandering through the camp. Really good rustic toilet and shower structure. And the owners were really kind and welcoming. 10/10 will come again.
