Set close to the Cornish hamlet of Halvasso near Penryn and five miles from Falmouth, Chyan Farm is a cultural centre and community project, running a spacious wild camping site with an eco-friendly approach, in a peaceful rural valley setting surrounded by apple orchards.There are several play areas for kids in the community field, including willow structures and a mud kitchen. Guests can also buy apple juice, which is made on site.
The emphasis here is on wild camping with basic amenities including compost toilets, springwater taps and hot showers in the site's solar-powered bathhouse. The owners ask guests to keep in mind that this is simple camping with simple facilities: the bathroom, while kept clean, isn't made up of gleaming tiles and you may well see a spider's web here and there. There's no site reception here but although you may not see any staff during your stay, someone is always contactable by phone if you have any queries.
The centre runs regular events such as fairs, workshops and craft classes throughout the year: ask the friendly team for details of what's on offer during your stay.

brilliant place to stay, very relaxed there but if you need anything they was there. me and my partner stayed here with our 2 daughters and our dog and it was 100% one of the best places we have been to, great veiws, great facilities. all in all will 100% be staying again and maybe try the other cabins.

Amazing stay with beautiful views. The tent is equipped with everything you need and beds are comfortable.
The environment is very calm and pizza night really is a success, not only the pizza's are very nice but you get to know the other people staying - amazing if you have kids as they start playing together.
We had an amazing time and would definitely return and recommend the stay.

This is a place to feel connected to the land and to completely let go of all the pressures of modern living. Jan is passionate about bio diversity and I loved walking up to the yurt, brushing past lavender and sage and wild flowers full of bees and butterflies, picking an apple on the way - and having it for breakfast whilst looking over a most glorious sunrise view from Buzzard Yurt. Then a walk in the woods and chilling in the hammock reading and soaking up the birdsong and the sound of the buzzard up above. At night - lying on the deck looking up at a starry sky and sitting round the fire toasting marshmallows. A truly relaxing and healing few days. Thank you Jan.

Wow, wow, wow.
So we had a fantastic time at Kingfisher Yurt, relaxing under the Oak and Ash trees. Swimming pond was perfect.
Yurt was really comfortable and the kitchen was fab for dining and playing games, We hired the hot tub, which was also lovely.
Jan was a perfect host. We shall be back.

Had a really nice time at Rocombe Valley Retreat, Elliot was very welcoming on arrival, the bell tent was great and comfortable. The site was quiet and clean and they had a lot of essentials there ready to use in the shared kitchen, including a fridge/freezer to store food in. Wood fired hot tub was a nice treat to top it off.

We booked a weekend stay with our daughter and it was lovely, very peaceful and calm. She loved feeding the pigs! The hot tub stays hot for a long time once you’ve got it going so worth firing it up nice abs early. The site owners were always around and really helpful too.

I travelled with two older grandsons. We were delighted with the space and facilities. I’m from that area but had no idea that this Secret Garden was there!
A pullout bed made sleeping for 3 adults possible. Nice little shower room and cooking equipment good. Outside seating area and hot tub were wonderful. We made fires each night and sat out late with hot chocolate to see the stars.
Fun swing (log on a rope) was enjoyed by all of us. The boys were surprised and delighted as was I
Sheryl communicated by message and was so helpful. The fresh eggs (option) were delicious.
Hope to return again.

We stayed at Rocombe Valley Retreat for 3 nights with 3 friends and wished we would have planned to stay longer! Rocombe Valley is a stunning farm, the yurt was comfortable and fully equipt, and Elliot was an amazing host who went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Can only recommend!

We loved our stay at Buzzard Yurt! Jan was super friendly and helpful, and the kids loved the trampoline, the pond, the hot tub, feeding the chickens, picking the eggs and just everything the lovely campsite had to offer. It was such a good break from the bustle of city life and we cannot wait to return. The night skies were delightful with a sky full of stars and hardly any light pollution anywhere near us, and our days were filled with adventure and nature at the camp. Jan's campsite is conveniently located to lots of lovely sights - Beer, Seaton, Lyme Regis. A perfect break!

Gorgeous cabin with rolling countryside views.
Private area with large garden.
Hot tub and sauna are a big plus.
Farm is quiet and very close to all North Devon has to offer.
Accommodation is actually very spacious. 4 fit easily in each room.
Highly recommended. We had a fabulous weekend, I could’ve stayed longer.

Walnut farm is a very special place. We had the best time staying in Russet yurt - it is extremely comfortable, spacious, private, luxurious, and perfectly kitted out. We couldn’t have asked for more. We loved it all and hope to be back again one day.
