Set close to the Cornish hamlet of Halvasso near Penryn and five miles from Falmouth, Chyan Farm is a cultural centre and community project, running a spacious wild camping site with an eco-friendly approach, in a peaceful rural valley setting surrounded by apple orchards.There are several play areas for kids in the community field, including willow structures and a mud kitchen. Guests can also buy apple juice, which is made on site.
The emphasis here is on wild camping with basic amenities including compost toilets, springwater taps and hot showers in the site's solar-powered bathhouse. The owners ask guests to keep in mind that this is simple camping with simple facilities: the bathroom, while kept clean, isn't made up of gleaming tiles and you may well see a spider's web here and there. There's no site reception here but although you may not see any staff during your stay, someone is always contactable by phone if you have any queries.
The centre runs regular events such as fairs, workshops and craft classes throughout the year: ask the friendly team for details of what's on offer during your stay.

This is very much a top class place. The field is surrounded by woodland and has a backwood veneer. I say veneer because the wood fired hot tubs, modern oval glass fronted sauna and pods were anything but basic. Excellent loos and showers also. Although this is already great the owners had plans to continue to develop the space but without loosing the charm and family run feel. About a 10 min drive to good local shops in Honiton and also the beach in Beer or Sidmouth. Checkout the local eggs from the amusing titled Fowlers Farm. As a foodie I though these where some of the best eggs I’ve ever had. The Heron Vineyard is also nearby which isn’t really a farm shop anymore but is a lovely space and restaurant. Its wine is not bad and good value. The Pig and River College are also nearby so this is a good place to stay if they are on your menu. About 3.5 hours drive from West London.

Weekend Trip to The T Barn
We had such a wonderful stay at the shepherd’s hut and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The setting was absolutely gorgeous, especially with the beautiful weather we were lucky enough to have — it made everything feel even more magical and relaxing.
Everything was explained so clearly on arrival, which made settling in really easy and stress-free. The hut itself was spotless, well thought out, and had everything we needed for a cosy and comfortable stay.
One of the highlights was definitely our meal at The Village Pub — it was honestly the best meal of the trip and made the whole experience feel even more special.
We had the best time and would absolutely love to come back again. Such a perfect little escape to the countryside!

We had a wonderful weekend here. The indoor skate park is an incredible feature, and we had a great time in the tree net and playing big chess. We stayed in the lovely converted horsebox and it had everything we needed. I would happily visit again to stay for a weekend or along Offa's Dyke Path.

This shepherds hut was amazing! The poshest hut I have ever stayed in - really comfortable. Waking up to a cool breeze and the sounds of nature and a beautiful view was perfect. The wood fired hot tub was amazingly effective and once heated up with a fierce blaze on Friday stayed warm with a bit of topping up until Sunday. Highly recommended!

2 nights at Hideaway Hut, Camping cabin.
Had an absolutely magical two night stay here for our anniversary. The bed is super comfy. The bath was so relaxing I'm afraid it might have ruined every other bath for me from here on out! The outdoor shower is superb, I've never felt so relaxed and energised.
The area is absolutely beautiful, we went for a walk on the gorgeous bluebell woods and the woodland commons.
Hostess was super friendly and helpful, I can't recommend it enough.

We had such a chilled weekend at the Stanley shepherds hut. Such a neatly and cleverly designed hut, we were very cosy.
We had fun making pizzas and toasting marshmallows.
Hot tub did take a long time to warm up the first night but the weather was against us- the second night was the opposite.
Great facilities and very easy to find off the road.
A warm welcome by our host who made sure we knew where everything was and had pre lit the hot tub fire for us!
Lovely touches like hot chocolate and marshmallows, fairy lights and drinks holder on the hot tub!

Weekend Trip to Westland Farm
My wife and I had an amazing time. The hut is situated in a lovely farm, next to a lovely little stream so you wake up with the peaceful sound of wildlife and the trickling of the stream. The hot tub is a nice touch. A little fire in the hut keeps the place cosy and warm. Will definitely be returning.

My partner and I stayed a night in the Peaceful Pod (Wollemia) and it was absolutely beautiful. The pod was clean, well decorated, and the outdoor space was so peaceful.

Staying in the Horsebox was just fabulous, so much to do, we enjoyed darts, ping pong, table football, tree net and the fabulous skate park. Our hosts were so friendly and we booked wood fired pizza for our evening meal which was delicious. Perfect for an adventurous stay for our boys 14th birthday weekend.

We had a really lovely stay in the Bustard Hut. It was peaceful, quaint, and beautifully designed. The interior was unique and thoughtfully put together, and the hut had great facilities considering its limited kitchen space.
The little touches like the marshmallows, bread, and condiments were very much appreciated.
The only downsides were that the hut wasn’t quite as private as it appeared in the pictures, as we could see and be seen by the neighbouring hut from the hot tub, which wasn’t quite what we imagined. Also, there weren’t any trolleys available on arrival, so there was a lot of back and forth with bags since you can’t park next to the hut.
A few things that would be useful to have are some barbecue tools and maybe a fire mitt, as we had to use kitchen utensils to manage the fire. Overall, we had a lovely stay and really enjoyed the thoughtful touches throughout.

This was a super last-minute booking, despite knowing that it was going to be pretty wet all weekend. Despite the rain, this was a magical place and my son and I had a special time together. The rain maybe made it even more special.
Anna is lovely and very helpful and their dog spent quite a lot of time with us because he realised we would continue to throw a stick for it until we went to sleep. Which was bliss!

Amazing stay with beautiful views. The tent is equipped with everything you need and beds are comfortable.
The environment is very calm and pizza night really is a success, not only the pizza's are very nice but you get to know the other people staying - amazing if you have kids as they start playing together.
We had an amazing time and would definitely return and recommend the stay.

We booked a weekend stay with our daughter and it was lovely, very peaceful and calm. She loved feeding the pigs! The hot tub stays hot for a long time once you’ve got it going so worth firing it up nice abs early. The site owners were always around and really helpful too.
