We've gone for ultimate peace and tranquility, with a very limited number of pitches mown into the wildflowers with lots of space between. Our remote site is far from roads or light pollution, making for serene starry nights around the firepit.
The camping meadow is bordered by woodlands, a small nature reserve, and the gardens of a stunning Tudor manor house, all of which you're free to explore.
Nestled in a remote and picturesque corner of West Dorset, the campsite is within easy reach of some of the South West's most stunning spots, from world-famous fossil beaches to neolithic hill-forts.

We had a wonderful stay. We arrived quite late, yet Evie was incredibly kind and still met us in person, even helping us with our luggage, which we really appreciated. The farm setting was a highlight - we were free to roam around, feed the chickens, and our little toddler absolutely loved jumping on the trampoline.
The cottage itself is beautifully secluded, giving us complete peace and privacy, and it truly had everything one could ask for, even a dishwasher in the kitchen. We especially enjoyed spending the evening by the firepit on the deck.
If you love hiking, there are plenty of great trails in the area as well. Highly recommend and can’t wait for our next stay.

If you're looking for a peaceful & private retreat, this hidden gem is the perfect place to stay. We were warmly welcomed by Evie and daughter as soon as we arrived, even though it was a very wet & windy evening. Cottage Orne is cosy & comfortable with great views. Only natural sounds were to be heard including owls. After a day out walking with the dog in the beautiful surrounding countryside, it was lovely to be able to return & sit out on the decking, relax and warm yourself around the firepit. The fairy lights added a magical touch. The fenced cottage garden is ideal for those with dogs and having the freedom to access the extensive grounds was an unexpected treat. A gorgeous quiet, laid back campsite - with beautiful views and a wonderful host! Chris went out of his way to help us with knowledge of the local area and was incredibly welcoming (and my daughter loved the treats he brought round every evening) Also some of the cleanest and nicest showers and toilets i've experienced camping!

Lovely site, great amenities that were also eco friendly, river is right there for a swim or kayak and the morning views were beautiful. We were the only campers so it was super quiet but Jonathan was close by if we had any issues. Would have loved to have stayed longer!

We stayed at Cottage Orne for the August bank holiday weekend and so glad we booked it. Evie was amazing and always available if needed and our kids loved playing with the new puppies. The cottage itself was perfect for a long weekend away and catered for our family of 4 with no problems. If we are ever back in the area, I'm sure we will be back to stay.

My pitch had a fabulous view of the River Tamar. The site was super quiet and all features for basic camping as described, i.e. shower and composting loo. Handy to be on the Tamara Coast to Coast Path as well.

We loved our little gateway for the weekend. Very easy to reach there, and Chris is a great host!
Bathroom was clean and they also prepared bread and other breakfast items for guests at a very reasonable price.

We had a fantastic week camping at Hardyes countryside camping. Chris was really helpful in recommending some brilliant places for us to visit and the site was very welcoming with hot showers and space for the kids to play! Lovely home baked breakfast goodies on offer too and delivered to the tent! There were so many great places to visit we need to come back to see everything! Thank you Chris for a great holiday!

We had a wonderful stay in Jonathan's land. He is very welcoming and helpful.
From the camp, we had beautiful views of the river and felt truly immersed in nature, surrounded by the silence.
A compost toilet and a cute and spacious shower in a horse box were all the services we needed to make our stay comfortable.
We would love to go back one day!

At the mouth of the River Exe in South Devon, not from Exeter city, this vibrant, waterside town makes the most of a location where river meets sea. Water-sports enthusiasts are in their element and the area is particularly good for kitesurfing, windsurfing, wakeboarding and sailing. But the coastal footpath and excellent cycling routes and mean outdoorsy types are just as at home on dry land too. The best way to stay, in the humble opinion of the Hipcamp travel experts, is to pitch up for a spot of Exmouth camping or glamping and, as always, they’ve been out and about finding the very best sites for our handpicked selection.
