Spring lakes welcomes everyone with an outdoor enthusiasm be it a camper or glamper, a caravan or motorhome tourer, an angler, a hiker or rambler, mountain bike, gravel bike, road bike enthusiast, a day visitor, coffee connoisseur or wild ride surfer. You are all welcome and will be treated to a break and experience to remember. On Site facilities include, composite toilets, outdoor shower shack, dish washing area, Drinking Water Tap, Wash down tap/hose, Chemical disposal point. Refuse bins. (General & Mixed Waste) Dog waste bin. Non electric site. We allow off the ground BBQ’s and provide a communal campfire. We do not allow fires at the pitches, we have created a communal open fire zone where you can light a fire and congregate there as a social meeting point, this is open to all so please accept other people could join you when in this location. We sell camping basics onsite such as firelighters, matches, charcoal, and fresh free-range eggs to assist with provisions for you whilst with us, equally feel free to ask and we will be more than happy to accommodate for any reasonable requests.

Weekend Trip to Lickham Bottom Camp

This campsite is extraordinary, peaceful, beautiful and so relaxing. Penny is the loveliest host and so helpful and kind. Everything you can think of to make your stay comfortable is provided. There is an outdoor pizza oven to hire, a selection of games, a small fridge a short walk through the woods and logs are available to buy. My daughter asked as we were leaving ‘can we stay forever?’ which just about says it all. I’m sure we’ll be back!

Elise has set up a real gem in Wytch Wood Camping. Under the most gorgeous tall trees in the woodland, we had the best nights sleep in ages, awakened only by the uplifting calls of over 20 different species of birds! We were lucky with the weather - but honestly even if not I’m sure it would have still been as lovely. There is a compost loo per site, wonderfully clean hot showers, a washing up area, drinking water, honesty shop, wood-fire pizzas over the weekend, horses, sheep and even a car hill battle on the hills surrounding the site. We made the trip into Frome for the monthly market, and managed to sneak in a trip to Durdle Door. This was a lovely base and special trip for us, thank you Elise! We will be back!

Nicky and her son were very friendly and helpful. Showed us around and left us to it but when I did need them they were a phone call away and very helpful. Cabin was beautiful and so peaceful. We stayed for two nights. Walked to the reservoir which was worth it.

Penn Bergeyn is set in its own paddock surrounded by fields and woods with easy access to wonderful walks including one round walk taking you through woods, fields even an old railway line and 2 pubs! Wild About Campers is a peaceful retreat amid spectacular hiking country in the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and 25 minutes’ drive from cliff-top treks along the South West Coast Path. The Jurassic Coast at Lyme Regis is within 25 minutes’ drive, and if you feel a major shopping expedition coming on, the historic cathedral city of Exeter (35 minutes) will see you right. Both Exmoor and Dartmoor national parks are less than an hour’s drive away, while the pretty neighbouring town of Honiton (10 minutes) offers pubs and tearooms as well as antique shops to browse. But if it’s a rural retreat you’re after, well, this is the place. The camping paddock is surrounded by peaceful farmland and borders the River Otter (look out for the resident beavers, otters and kingfishers, which occasionally appear), so you can fall asleep lulled by the burble of the river along with the distant hoot of barn owls – and wake up fresh in the morning to the sound of birdsong. A popular family-run pub is five minutes’ stroll from the campsite, and you can pick up emergency supplies from a well-stocked village shop run by volunteers (five minutes’ drive).
