Our stay at Over the Moon was absolutely perfect. Ruth was super friendly and gave clear instructions on how to find them, and replied quickly to any questions. The location is beautiful and incredibly peaceful. The hut had everything we needed and the bed was huge and very comfortable. We can’t wait to come stay again!

Have already recommended this place to friends. We had a lovely stay in the sunshine. The hut is has everything you need in a compact but unsquashy space. Enjoyed some fine walks and a super day out in Ruthin. We'd also recommend the Red Lion for a visit. Ruth & Jude were both very helpful and welcoming. I'm sure we'll come back.

I had a wonderful stay in this charming shepherd’s hut nestled in a peaceful meadow. The hut was beautifully equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable and cozy getaway. The surrounding area was lovely, with fruit to pick and plenty of space for the dogs, who absolutely loved it! The hosts were fabulous—friendly, helpful, and welcoming. I couldn’t have asked for more. Highly recommend this little gem for a relaxing countryside retreat.

Perfect getaway for me and my daughter. The hut is perfect, everything you could need and equipped and furnished beautifully. The views are stunning and the location is within easy reach of nature reserves and forests - spoilt for choice. It was so cosy and warm in the hut with the log burner lit and the fairy lights on. What a gorgeous stay here! Stayed in the glencroft for two nights. I was able to ask Rich lots of questions before booking. The setting is beautiful and the pod even more so.
Lovely welcome basket and all you need is provided. You just need your food, a costume for the hot tub and you’re in for a perfect stay. I slept like a log for 2 nights and the weather made it even more perfect. There is plenty to do within 1 hour of the pods and we opted for 2 days of hiking so the hot tub was a welcome relief! The under floor heating is also fantastic. The shower was a little temperamental you couldn’t get a balance between hot and cold but if that’s a stretch to find anything to improve on. I hope I’ll be back one day

Over The Moon is a charming shepherd’s hut, and it was an absolute delight to stay there. The accommodation is thoughtfully designed and beautifully finished to a high standard. It was also super cosy and warm. The peaceful setting made it the perfect place to unwind and recharge. Waking up to the sounds of nature and enjoying the tranquil surroundings was just what I needed. I would highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone looking for a relaxing and restorative getaway.

We absolutely loved our stay in this shepherd’s hut. The location is fantastic, with plenty of walks and nature spots nearby—perfect for outdoor lovers. The orchard garden was much larger than we expected and ideal for letting our dog roam safely off-lead.
The hut itself was impressively well equipped with everything we needed: a fully stocked kitchen, shower, toilet, sink, soft towels, various lighting options, indoor and outdoor seating, plus both a radiator and log burner for cozy evenings. The bed was incredibly comfortable, making it easy to relax after long walks.
It was also, without a doubt, the cleanest holiday stay we’ve ever experienced. Communication with Ruth was spot on. Everything felt just right, and we enjoyed every moment. We loved it so much we’re already booking our next stay!

We had the most wonderful stay at The Sheperd’s Hut. Ruth and Jude were truly wonderful hosts.
The location is just beautiful. Waking up to the gorgeous views, and our exploring the local forest was amazing. The sheep, chickens, and friendliest dogs made for a wonderful walk through the field.
Everything was spotless, and you could feel the work and love that had been poured in. Tea, coffee, and sugar provided, as well as all the cooking tools you could need.
The log burner was set up for us before we arrived, and we lit it on our last night. It was so toasty.
The hut was comfortable, cosy, and exactly what you need to escape to the countryside. The eggs from the chickens are a must have!
The local village was lovely too. We had the most beautiful Sunday Roast in the village. We are so grateful for the hints and tips given in the binder on arrival.

Weekend Trip to Ravensdale Glamping Retreats
Me and my girlfriend stayed here for two nights and we loved it. It’s set in a private area with lovely glamorous pods.
I booked this for my girlfriend’s birthday and it did not disappoint. Access to a private hot tub, bbq and indoor speakers in the ceiling really allowed us to relax while there.
On a night we chilled in our room and had a movie night which had access to Netflix, Disney and all other platforms.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a chilled weekend, while also only being about 25 minutes from the city of York.
Thank you to the hosts for being nice and available to us if we needed and also recommending some walks to go on.
