Tyne View Camping is a peaceful spot in Tyne and Wear, not far from Hedley on the Hill village. It's on a farm run by David and his family, who welcome guests to enjoy the beautiful countryside views. You can see the Tyne Valley from the camping pitches, which is great for stargazing at night. The site is basic with just water taps and toilets, no showers, but there's lots of space for kids and dogs to play. You're allowed to bring a barbecue or firepit for cooking, and you can buy supplies in Prudhoe nearby. Or, you can walk to Hedley on the Hill for a meal at a top-notch pub. There are plenty of things to do nearby, like walking in the woods, playing golf, or trying gliding. The camping area is exposed and can get windy at times, so take care when erecting tents and ensure everything is well secured. Facilities are simple: chemical toilets and a water supply. The water supply is from the mains but we recommend bottled water for drinking to be safe. There are no showers on site. Solar showers can be bought on-line for about £10. The access road is alongside a grass field, so please ensure that your vehicle is suitable for the terrain. We are a Quiet family site, with a Reduced Noise policy from 9 pm, and Quiet Time from 10 pm to 8.30 am. Latest check in time is 8PM, unless prearranged with the campsite. Our site has close links to the A6 and m6 J33. We are only 13 miles from the Historic city of Lancaster, the Bright lights of Blackpool and the jubilee city of Preston. 4 miles from the first fair trade market town of Garstang and 45 mins into the Lake District. There is also lots of interesting activities to do locally.

If the answer is fair to middling, Damside Campsite might just be the place for you: this pop-up spot is surrounded by the glorious wilderness of Peak District National Park. Doesn’t get much more blissfully peaceful than that – except for the occasional lowing cow, all is stillness here. Having said that, don’t worry: you won’t have to scramble across hills and dales for a pint: a traditional pub serving real ales and home-cooked food is right in the village of Peak Forest, a 20-minute walk away. Both the site and the pub welcome dogs, though it might be wise to keep them on a lead when walking past the farm animals. This is wild camping; facilities might not be abundant (there are no showers), but they are well maintained and include a portable toilet and a washing-up area. There is also fresh running water, and you’re welcome to start a campfire or a barbecue. You can grab essentials in the village shop, or head to Chapel-en-le-Frith (10 minutes) or Buxton (15 minutes). If you’re here with the kids, the flat, grassy field where you’ll set up your tent makes for an excellent play area on which to run around, kick a ball or fly a kite. What a little Derbyshire gem: back to basics Whitehouse Farm Campsite is a simple site in a most scenic setting five minutes’ drive from the pretty village of Tideswell. The site’s central location in the Peak District National Park means it’s a top spot for those who want to ramble or ride bikes – several circular trails leave from Tideswell and the traffic-free Monsal Trail is a five-minute drive away. And there’s plenty more activity if you require it too, as activity centres nearby can sort you out days of horse riding, abseiling, climbing and caving. This is a lovely little site - just the two pitches. It's quiet and minutes away from the town centre. We went with family (a campervan and larger motorhome) and hired both pitches. We liked it so much, we're heading back soon. The view from the site is spectacular over the hills. The one shower and toilet block (no need for more as it's such a small site) is new, clean, and with plenty of hot water. The site is a good base too for other beautiful places in the Peak District. But we enjoyed walking into town. There's the gardens, opera house and lots of interesting artisan shops and nice pubs.

We booked both pitches , which were perfectly level and close to a water supply. The views across the big house were stunning and shower and toilet very modern and clean , with nice hand soap and lots of loo roll🤣 Our host Rachel and husband Nick were really lovely friendly and helpful, their garden which was huge and available for us to use was lovely with lots of rabbits running around and at night bats and owls ! A ten minute walk into Buxton centre which was bustling with nice artisan shops and lots of places to eat and drink. Overall this was superb so much so we have already booked to return for the Bank holiday weekend.

A 10 minute walk into Buxton, a bit longer back as it is all up hill 🥵 The views are beautiful and there’s lots of wildlife which was lovely to watch. Nick was brilliant, he couldn’t do enough for us, even offered to pick us up from town the second time around. We would definitely stay again, looking forward to seeing the future plans.

The shower and toilet are superb. Nick and Rachel were so helpful and they are very passionate about developing the Duchess's Meadow Note, the access to the pitches are up a steep hill but absolutely worth it! x

Easy reservation through Hipcamp; easy access on a lawn. Did not see the owner. Toilets OK but not very clean, neither in the evening nor in the morning, but maybe sometimes due to the campers present? Lights in the toilet didn’t not work, so I needed to take my own torch. Apart from that good basic campsite with mowed lawn.

What a fabulous location and owned by a lovely helpful couple who make you feel so welcome. It’s a 10 minute walk into the town and there are lovely walks in the woods adjacent to the site. It’s a very relaxing place to be with wonderful views and rabbits and buzzards for neighbours. Will definitely be visiting again.
