7 units · Motorhomes, Tents10 acres · EnglandSet down in a wildlife haven at Waveney’s Wild Woods. This family farm site is well-situated for historic Broads landscapes and the Norfolk coast… as it’s three miles away from the coast and a five-minute drive from Oulton Broad where you may hire out a boat to glide along the waterways.
Leave no trace, as this site is geared up for guests to get back to nature. There are both toilet and shower facilities, and composting toilets on site, as well as a water tap next to the car park. Mobile reception is patchy, and there's no electricity, so mind that you pack a torch to pick out your way around when it’s dark.
There are firepits and braziers on site too, paired with rather splendid views over the marshlands of The Broads (a national park and Site of Special Scientific Interest). A 15-minute drive away, there’s a large nature reserve owned by the Suffolk Wildlife Trust with all manners of birds and winter waders.
And on site, the woodlands often welcome badgers, foxes, muntjac, marsh harrier and barn owls, as well as the occasional Chinese Water deers, hares and kingfishers.
This is a pretty peaceful site with laidback vibes – so you’ll have a nice base near the Suffolk and Norfolk border with locally produced food, wine and beer within a couple of miles, and easy access to the Waveney Way, that passes through the farm and is part of the 93-mile Angles Way footpath which links Great Yarmouth, Thetford, the Peddars Way and the Norfolk Coast Path.
