Wild About Campers is a peaceful retreat amid spectacular hiking country in the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and 25 minutes’ drive from cliff-top treks along the South West Coast Path.
The Jurassic Coast at Lyme Regis is within 25 minutes’ drive, and if you feel a major shopping expedition coming on, the historic cathedral city of Exeter (35 minutes) will see you right. Both Exmoor and Dartmoor national parks are less than an hour’s drive away, while the pretty neighbouring town of Honiton (10 minutes) offers pubs and tearooms as well as antique shops to browse.
But if it’s a rural retreat you’re after, well, this is the place. The camping paddock is surrounded by peaceful farmland and borders the River Otter (look out for the resident beavers, otters and kingfishers, which occasionally appear), so you can fall asleep lulled by the burble of the river along with the distant hoot of barn owls – and wake up fresh in the morning to the sound of birdsong.
A popular family-run pub is five minutes’ stroll from the campsite, and you can pick up emergency supplies from a well-stocked village shop run by volunteers (five minutes’ drive).

brilliant place to stay, very relaxed there but if you need anything they was there. me and my partner stayed here with our 2 daughters and our dog and it was 100% one of the best places we have been to, great veiws, great facilities. all in all will 100% be staying again and maybe try the other cabins.

We loved staying at tams land. The views are absolutely beautiful as is the sound of nature and wildlife. We stayed in the otter tent which was well equipped for a family of 3 and a dog! Tam is an excellent host, unfortunately due to traffic we arrived late than planned on Friday night however tam was understanding and accommodating anf helped us settle in quickly. On the Saturday night it was a complete wash out and tam offered to let us stay in another one of their lodges as it had a log burner - this was excellent, appreciated and well timed (we'd been on the beach all day and were completely soaked)! We would definitely recommend staying here! Thanks again Tam!

Amazing stay with beautiful views. The tent is equipped with everything you need and beds are comfortable.
The environment is very calm and pizza night really is a success, not only the pizza's are very nice but you get to know the other people staying - amazing if you have kids as they start playing together.
We had an amazing time and would definitely return and recommend the stay.

We booked a weekend stay with our daughter and it was lovely, very peaceful and calm. She loved feeding the pigs! The hot tub stays hot for a long time once you’ve got it going so worth firing it up nice abs early. The site owners were always around and really helpful too.

What an incredible stay at this working farm campsite in North Devon! From the moment we arrived, Nick made us feel completely welcome with her warm, relaxed approach. She strikes the perfect balance - always visible and ready to help with anything you need, while having thoughtfully designed the campsite so that most of your needs are already taken care of without having to ask.
The practical touches really stood out: the double-space fridge was brilliant for longer stays, and the honesty box system for the washer and dryer worked seamlessly. The shower block deserves special mention - spacious enough for whole families, spotlessly clean, and with excellent water pressure and hot water. Perfect for families with children.
What makes this place truly magical is being on a genuine working farm. The animals are integrated naturally into the campsite environment, and there's a wonderful freedom to wander around and observe them respectfully. No overly officious rules - just common sense and respect for the animals and farm life. The views across the Devon countryside are absolutely stunning.
Nick herself was exceptional throughout our stay - her genuine care for guests and attention to detail really shows. We're already planning our return visit!
Highly recommended for anyone wanting an authentic farm experience with excellent facilities and the warmest of welcomes.

Gorgeous cabin with rolling countryside views.
Private area with large garden.
Hot tub and sauna are a big plus.
Farm is quiet and very close to all North Devon has to offer.
Accommodation is actually very spacious. 4 fit easily in each room.
Highly recommended. We had a fabulous weekend, I could’ve stayed longer.

It was a really peaceful site with large well spaced pitches close to Lyme Regis. Pub within walking distance, we didn’t try it and you’d need a torch. Facilities well thought out with access to a fridge as a nice touch. Showers were cold at 6am but too early to ask anyone if this was a one off problem.

Walnut farm is a very special place. We had the best time staying in Russet yurt - it is extremely comfortable, spacious, private, luxurious, and perfectly kitted out. We couldn’t have asked for more. We loved it all and hope to be back again one day.

We stayed in Pippin with our 10 year old child. Gorgeous location, with a small number of units making for a very peaceful site. We spent most of our stay heading out to visit family but wish we had been able to spend more time on the site as it is really stunning. Hosts were very welcoming. This would be a lovely place to hire out with a group as you could book the whole site…one day, hopefully!

The campsite is gorgeous, along the river in a little secluded valley surrounded by trees with countryside views. The kitchen is perfectly equipped and the hot shower is a great amenity.

Had a beautiful stay. The hut was clean and well equipped. The shower was a bit lacking but better than nowt. I particularly loved that the hut was enclosed in its own paddock so my dog was contained and I could relax. The bed was comfortable and I slept like a log. Had a visit from a peacock as the sun went down each evening, how cool!

Showed us around and left us to it but when I did need them they were a phone call away and very helpful.
Cabin was beautiful and so peaceful.
We stayed for two nights. Walked to the reservoir which was worth it.
