With westerly views over the Trent Valley and in the shadows of a ruined 18th-century windmill, this is a peaceful and scenic place to take a break indeed…
Well-positioned too, with a generous handful of pubs, restaurants and cafés a scenic 35 minutes’ walk away in Gunthorpe alongside the river Trent. Radcliffe on Trent and Bingham are five minutes’ drive away for any other amenities you might (supermarkets, shops, restaurants, pubs and the likes). And if you’re after even more of a buzz, Nottingham city centre is 25 minutes’ drive away.
Even with such good access to so many towns and the big city, the site itself is remote. It has 10 acres of hay meadows and woodlands for guests to explore and, of course, sublime sunsets over the valley. If you prefer to keep your whole stay pretty rural, the Vale of Belvoir and the historic Belvoir Castle are 20 minutes’ drive away from the site.
It’s no frills here. The grass and woodland pitches have facilities including water and portaloo access. Dogs are also permitted, as are barbecues.

We had a great time lovely spot in the woodlands we had a 6 person tent 2 adults 3 kids we didnt think was gnna fit but was perfect we got to feed to animals every night which the kids loved and theres a lovely walking trail which leads to a beautiful pub right nxt to train tracks which had steam trains going by really nice place thanks for having us

Lovely area close to beautiful walks in Cannock Chase. Canalside walk is even closer (though not a loop!). The campsite also has a great playground for kids, with ponies and horses in the next fields. Small bar to get drinks too for the adults

Great price and the location is perfect for The Roaches. Wasn't a fan of pitching up wherever you want but that's a personal thing. Pizza van is a great idea and much needed after a long day. Everyone respected the 10pm quiet time. Could have done with knowing about the cost to use the showers but that might be the HiCamp app rather than the host.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here, the land is spacious and varied. The facilities were clean and pleasant (although one of the 2 showers was out of use - didn't cause any difficulty to me on this occasion and hopefully will be fixed soon). I will definitely return. Thankyou Tom.

We stayed at The Hollies for a weekend in mid July and it was a lovely and peaceful campsite. There was plenty of space so that even when it was busy you didn't feel on top of other groups.
The site team came round each evening to sell firepits (to rent) and logs which was wonderful and they were on hand to answer any questions!
The toilet and shower facilities were great (never had to queue), and paying £1 for the shower was so worth it for the temp and pressure you got!
The pizza van on Saturday night was an added bonus, you can't beat woodfired pizza around a campfire.
Would definitely recommend and would also return!

Showers and toilet were immaculate as usual( midweek stay , so had field one virtually to myself all week. Small visiting D of E group were transported away to watch England lose in the World Cup at night , and were gone by 07:30 next morning, so didn’t really see them. Hottest week of the year, so my new 3x3 tarp shelter came nicely to the rescue, as it was far too hot in the tents by day. Great week, will be back after the holidays.

A good location close to Tittesworth Reservoir, which is a short walk from the site. The reservoir visitors' centre does food, drinks and ice cream, or you could take a picnic as there's benches dotted about. The campsite was busy when we stayed for the weekend, but there was plenty of room, and no need to pitch close to others. The toilets and showers were busy but clean. You need pound coins for the showers. There wasn't lots of showers so choose your times to use them. The hosts were very pleasant and helpful, even to the point where there was a sign warning about a very expensive nearby ice cream van pulling up - £7.50 for a cornet! It had been asked to move on, and there was no sign of it during our weekend. We hired a fire pit with logs and enjoyed sitting around it at night. Would use this site again as it's such a good location, close to Leek and there's walks from the site.
