Update we allow cars ad camper and this land has a special energy. Set in the valley with the hillside gives 360 degrees view of natural landscape. Wethersfield Eco Project is the historic parkland of Wethersfield Manor. If it’s a ‘proper’ Suffolk wild-camping adventure you’re after, have a look at Lions Row, a spacious back‑to‑basics site on a working farm just outside Ufford. It’s completely surrounded by countryside, but only a handy five minutes’ drive (or a 35 walk) from the pubs, takeaways and shops in Wickham Market.
You can park at the pitches, which are mown into the long grass. It’s a clever spot for families as it’s a mile from the nearest road, making it quiet and safe for kids to roam freely without any danger from traffic.
As this is wild camping, facilities are minimal: drinking water, a simple washing-up sink, compost loos and basic gas-heated outdoor showers are your lot. However, you’ll wake up to birdsong every morning and go to sleep by starlight on clear nights; just remember to bring torches and batteries for after-dark wanderings.
The views are peaceful and rural, and the field is bordered by deciduous woodland – great for exercising any four-legged pals – criss-crossed with footpaths leading to country pubs (there are four within half an hour’s walk). It’s also close to heritage attractions such as Sutton Hoo (10 minutes’ drive).

Dog's more than welcome. The land is fully fenced off for dogs to roam freely if wanted. There is a pond for them to cool down in the summer.
There are toilets and a washing machine. There is also a place to do some washing up if needed.
The campsite is located 5 minute walk away from a bus stop that can take you into Cambridge. We can provide a shuttle if needed.

Really nice camping site in a truly rural context with some decent facilities. Bear in mind showers don’t have any roof so might be an experience during the rain ! Water has nice temperature though pressure is shared I believe between all facilities so sometimes a bit low. If you’re on top of unnumbered pitch you might struggle to put pegs into the ground as we did.

We’ve just returned from six nights at bridge woods and had a lovely time. The hosts were all very friendly and welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us. It was lovely to be so close to the animals, especially bear (owners dog) who is such a polite boy and so gentle and patient with all the children that were on the site. Overall, a nice relaxed getaway back in to nature. Thank you for our stay :)

We had such a great time staying here last weekend with a group of old friends for our annual camping weekend. This is clearly Silas and Tom’s passion project and they were both so helpful and kind - we felt completely at home and able to relax here with our nutty kids in tow. If you, too, hate copy-paste glampsites with slick marketing and on-site shops selling overpriced crisps you will also love it here. Tons of heart, no unnecessary frills, slightly mad vibe (Tom appearing in the rain like Mr Tumnus to beckon us in to Narnia when we arrived definitely sticks in the memory 🤣). But crucially for us creaky 40yo parents it also has excellent hot showers, a covered field kitchen for rainy evenings and some glamping tents conveniently up and waiting to house overwhelmed friends with small babies. What else could we ask for? 10/10 from us, we’re planning on coming back next year for more goat cuddles and good times. Thanks so much guys! ❤️🐐🐓🌞🏕️

Loved this campsite. So tranquil and quiet, which was a welcome break from the city. We pretty much ended up with the field to ourselves. Lots of walks and cycling routes from the site, and lots of nice nearby pubs and villages. Helena was very helpful and provided us with lots of local recommendations. We will definitely be back.

My son and I loved camping at Fire & Feast, Cratfield. The site was very tidy. The showers and toilets were lovely and clean. We were very impressed with the whole experience. Especially the breakfast brunch. We felt thoroughly spoilt ! Great, Safe bbq grills to cook on. We definitely recommend staying there. Helena and family warmly welcomed us to their campsite. The large spacious field was peaceful and all the facilities were clean and close by. Great firewood and pit provided along side some delicious homemade burgers at a very reasonable extra cost. All in all, a delightful and delicious weekend. Thank you all!

Our second visit here and still as good as the first time. Bear and Silas are so welcoming and friendly, couldn’t be more accommodating, our boys (dogs) were spoiled with fresh goats milk and attempted to make friends with the chickens. Great dog walk from the site along the canal makes it even better. It has what you need, toilet under the stars and warm showers (although didn’t use them this time). If you want to escape, have a quiet night, and get back to nature this is the place!

I had such a lovely stay here. It’s a quiet little campsite with plenty of space, making it perfect for switching off—or, in my case, a working holiday! The co-working space was excellent, with reliable internet and electricity, so working during the day was effortless.
This isn’t just a dog-friendly campsite—it’s dog heaven. During the heatwave, the pond was perfect for keeping the dogs cool, and Silas and the family were so welcoming to both me and my dogs. I’ve genuinely never seen them have so much fun.
The resident animals are an added bonus. Olive and Pip, the friendly goats, are absolutely delightful. Rodney the pony seemed a little shy at first, but we became friends and he’s incredibly sweet. Even the chickens provided entertainment, and the dogs loved pottering around watching them.
All in all, this place is a hidden gem. I absolutely loved my stay and would come back in a heartbeat. Highly recommended!

2 nights at Glamping at Bressingham Gardens
Wonderful glamping site in a meadow with one other tent. It was so nice to be able to wander around the gardens after they had closed and early in the morning! There was noticeable traffic noise during the night but that was mentioned in the details. A proper shower would be a great addition but again the lack of that was expected. As the public can see the tent from the gardens it would have been nice to have a couple of padlocks. Overall though highly recommend - a wonderful escape and after hours access to the gardens was priceless! Many thanks!

Great well appointed campsite. Clean showers and toilets plenty of firepit cookers for outdoor cooking. Limited number of well spaced pitches means it will never feel crowded. Pitches also came with a picnic bench which is always useful. Would happily return as the area is beautiful.

I went for one night and it was so calm and relaxing .
The site has only 1 toilet and spring water from the hose which was very nice .
The site has no washing up facility’s or showers.
A find the price £28 pp a bit expensive and being pp not 2 sharing for an off grid no facility site.
Overall Beautiful and I will return with some friends.

Great place, was able to set up campervan and side tent in a lovely location, with sun set to the left, woodland behind and goats and pony in paddock in front of us. The whole site is a gated area so was great for our dog to run around freely, making friends with the chickens, goats and other dogs. Silas was a great host, very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommended for a stress free, chilled camping experience
