Weekend Trip to Greenoak Hideout
We had such a lovely stay at Greenoak. The hosts were so friendly and approachable and there were lots of lovely small touches that made the yurts feel homely and comfortable.
The log burners and electric blankets meant that we were warm over night and had a really comfortable sleep. We are looking forward to going in the Summer to be able to enjoy more daylight hours.
The boys (4 and 7) loved all of the friendly animals and the play equipment on the land, as well as the hot tub!
We will definitely book again and would recommend to our friends and family!
Thank you for a lovely stay and we look forward to visiting again next year!

The setting was just perfect for our family of five (including two dogs and a 4 year old). The Yurt was comfortable, clean and very cosy. The private shower and toilet facilities were great, as was the hot tub.
We had a trip to the local nature reserve during our stay, however think our daughter and the dogs were just as happy in the grounds with lots to explore, very friendly animals and lots of activities including trampoline and climbing walls.

We had a brilliant stay at Eva’s campsite in Arthingworth. The setting is peaceful, spacious, and beautifully maintained, a real escape from the hustle and bustle. There’s loads of room between pitches so it never felt crowded, and we were able to really enjoy the outdoors without feeling on top of anyone else.
Eva was a fantastic host, really responsive and thoughtful. When there was a minor issue with another group, she handled it promptly and professionally, going out of her way to make sure everyone felt comfortable and respected. You can tell she genuinely cares about her guests’ experience.
The views are lovely, especially at sunset, and the field is perfect for families, dogs, or groups just wanting to chill. There are clean facilities, fire pits for hire, and plenty of space for kids to run around safely.
We’d absolutely stay again, highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxed, down-to-earth camping experience with a great host.

Great stay at Purple Badger. The facilities were great, and the shower and toilets some of the best i've experienced camping. As a family we enjoyed the space for eating and spending time together under shelter, when not at our tent. The kids enjoyed the Fusball tables and books.
Very enjoyable stay and look forward to returning again.

Beautiful grounds. Quiet glamping. Lovely clean toilet and shower block. Nice to have wildlife and farm animals on the doorstep. Great having easy access to The Engine Yard and castle grounds.

We absolutely loved this place. It is the closest thing to wild camping, only 12 pitches so lots of room. Toilets were clean and the pantry well stocked. The host was also nice and brought us ice lolly’s on arrival and gave us tips about the local area.
We are already planning our next trip back.

Where to go
Norfolk Coast AONB
The Norfolk Coast AONB is a stretch of protected coastline that stretches from Snettisham in the west to Mundesley in the east and includes the popular seaside towns of Cromer and Sheringham. It’s a great spot for walking and cycling, and also offers very dark skies for stargazing enthusiasts. Towns within the AONB area offer a variety of camping options, or campers can visit on day trips from the Sandringham area. Perhaps the most impressive sight is the colonies of seals at Blakeney Point, best reached by boat or via Horsey Beach (where you can walk).
Norfolk Broads
Campers who like the idea of sleeping on a boat should check out the Norfolk Broads, which are part of the larger Broads National Park that spans Norfolk and Suffolk. The network of largely navigable rivers and lakes were formed by the flooding of peatlands and are an attractive area of calm water, windmills, wildlife, and birds. Make a day trip from the Sandringham area of stay on a houseboat, in a waterside cottage, at a simple tent site, or in a well-equipped caravan park.
Snettisham
Snettisham Nature Reserve is administered by the RSPB (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds), so is a must-visit spot for bird enthusiasts. From late summer, tens of thousands of wading birds take flight from the mudflats, saline lagoons, and salt marshes. Wildlife observation hides provide visitors with great views of the spectacle. It’s just north of Sandringham so campers staying in Sandringham can easily visit, but there are other campsites around nearby Dersingham and Snettisham village.
When to go
Summer is the best time to visit Sandringham as this is when the weather will be best for camping and other outdoor activities, including touring the gardens at Sandringham House. Tent camping will be most comfortable between June and September, but cabins, cottages, and even houseboats (in the Norfolk Broads) mean you can comfortably visit the Sandringham and Norfolk area year-round if you select your accommodation wisely.
