We loved visiting Dogwood.
We visited on a whim one Sunday evening in early September, needing a break from the city. We were pleased to be welcomed warmly by Phil, who was accommodating and available, despite the random timing !
We had the site to ourselves, and loved the peace and quiet - only accompanied by the animals who were roaming the site.
The toilet and shower facilities were close by and clean, well maintained for the end of season, beginning of off-season.
The site is well positioned and sign posted, a short walk from two pubs and a small shop, easily drivable into Rye, Hastings or Camber for whatever your stay is for!

Very friendly, lovely area, great amenities, if travelling on foot enter from the north of the property, rather than the hilly main road as there is no pavement. Put in RH19 4NB and walk up the field.

1 night at Bircham Windmill
Spotlessly clean, the showers and facilities were as good as at home, the extra added thoughtfulness of clean bath mats tea towels washing up liquid and lots of toilet paper and hand towel and soap.
My shepherds hut was delightful, and yet again everything I needed with the welcoming cream tea, milk, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, spotlessly clean as everywhere was.
The windmill, the bakery, the café, my grandchildren loved the animals and the play area. There is absolutely not a thing I can think of that was not perfect. Oh I forgot to mention the games room. Thank you

Fantastic spot nice and close to London. Owners are friendly and helped us with a BBQ / fire pit. Field is big and loads of space per camp. We will be back soon!

Beautiful site with a pony, goats and hens walking free. Friendly reception and clean everywhere. Nice pub at a short walk through the fields.

A beautiful gem. Easily accessible from the train station if you don’t fear a 30min walk. Had the lower field all to myself, but a 5min walk to the amazing sauna and toilets. The hosts were so welcoming (felt like spending time with family!) and guests very nice and considerate of others. You could easily mingle or have some time secluded depending on what you’re looking for. I’ll definitely be back!

Beautiful campsite with enough of a wild feel to feel remote, yet enough facilities that you feel comfortable. There’s a sauna! A nice hot sauna done properly, not like one in a gym. Wow, the sauna was lovely.
Great green views across the hills.
There was a nice lively atmosphere in the top field, and plenty of space if you fancied a quieter evening further down. A little pop up shop for essentials by the entrance, and the warmest campsite welcome from Heath and Katja.
We slept well after our sauna!

We had a fantastic weekend break at Sunnyside! Heath and Katja were very welcoming and helpful and it felt like they are building a lovely community at the site, respectful of the nature and of everyone’s experience. Very family-friendly feel, and the Finnish sauna was a great bonus too!
Would highly recommend, and hopefully see you again soon 🙏

A spotless shepherds hut, welcoming with some delicious treats.
A lovely place to stay with great views after climbing the windmill, freshly baked bread on the premises and friendly staff.
Clean showers and bathrooms.
Farm animals such as chickens, donkey and a horse in the field and the owl calling at night.

My family and I spent a night here, we absolutely loved this site. Phil was great, really friendly and cheerful, and gave us a warm welcome when we arrived. I met his wife as well who had a lovely chat with my kids and introduced them to the ducks and chickens. This is a great, family run campsite that is ideal for a quiet getaway.
The facilities are clean and tidy, no issues at all. We stayed during a rain storm, fortunately we remained warm and dry in our campervan. Some of the other campers introduced themselves for a chat, the site definitely has a relaxed and chilled vibe that everyone embraces!
The goats and pony were in their pen when we arrived, my kids absolutely loved them!
The campsite itself is small but has great amenities, we would happily come back for another relaxing break!

Just got back from a lovely night at Sunnyside Pop-Up Camping with my 2-year-old daughter and couldn’t be happier. It’s a beautiful, peaceful spot – surrounded by nature and mainly families, which gave it a really relaxed, safe atmosphere. The hosts were fantastic – friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. A perfect little escape, especially with young kids. Highly recommended!

4 nights at Bircham Windmill
The pitches are a really good size so you don't feel on top of each other. It is a small site, which is a bonus. The shepherd's hut was really comfortable with lots of thoughtful touches and a cream tea to welcome you. The site is very pretty and sitting in the morning with a cup of tea looking at the windmill and seeing the horse, donkey, lambs and chicken was a wonderful start to the day.

Lovely peaceful site, with woodland all around. Decent hot showers, clean toilets, lots of hot water for washing up. Yes it’s rustic, not unclean, so there might be the odd creepy crawley but that’s camping 😂 we’d stay again.

Backed by colourful beach huts and with the long esplanade for sand-free walks, Frinton-on-Sea is often overlooked but it's a little-known seaside gem and there are plenty of campsites and glamping sites nearby.
